I purchased you m50 video creator kit that includes a RODE VideoMic, but that microphone will not work properly when using this app. Why would you sell a product in a kit that is incompatible with the features of your camera?

This is so complicated! So I cleared all settings and I’m now on factory settings. Voila! Pairing is no longer greyed out! Yay! But my camera refuses to pair with my iPhone even though Bluetooth is turned on and the camera is turned on! Help !

I am trying to work through this currently with Canon support, but thought I'd leave a comment here just in case anyone else had any ideas. I've having trouble getting past the 'Search for access point' part of the connection set up. It's around the 3min mark of this video. I've had no problems with connecting my iPhone 8 plus with my Canon m50 previously, but in the last month it has not been able to connect at all. I am now also having no luck pairing via Bluetooth. I have already - Upgraded the firmware on the camera - Uninstall/install the Camera Connect app again - Cleared all settings in the Wireless set up on the camera - Restarted my router - Tried connecting the camera to my laptop - same problem (can't find my laptop) - I don't have VPN on my iphone enabled I've only had my m50 for a couple of months as it was a gift, I'd hate to not use the wifi function as it was really timesaving and awesome! Any further help would be amazing x
@@JustFaithL get in touch with Canon support in your area - they will help you find out whether it needs to be sent in for repairs. If you still have your receipts and it's under warranty, then it should be a free fix. Good luck, that really sucks that it's not working but hopefully it's not a hardware issue like mine.
I have pressed “pairing” and when my camera name pops up on my phone, right when I tap to connect or before I tap it says “connection target not found”. It’s weird coz it used to work first and now it doesn’t. Anyone else have this problem?

This all went smoothly until 3:15 - my phone (iPhone 8 Plus) hangs on Connect to Camera and I can't get any further. I've tried entering the details in the phone's wifi settings, but it still won't connect.

Lower shutter beyond 1/4 is long exposure. The quotation mark is a second so 15” would be a 15 second long exposure

Once the camera and smartphone are paired via this initial process you will be able to reconnect simply by opening the app

Just a quick update on my comment - my m50 had an internal wifi wiring issue, it's since been fixed by Canon and works PERFECTLY again. Thanks Canon!

Figured it out - if your phone uses a VPN, make sure you turn it off first. Once I did that, all was fine.
