A good game never die. They continue on for a very long time. That's how classics start out. At some point Bloodborne and Souls are going to become classics as well to the younger audience.
The thing about Valtyr is that he acts as the antithesis to Alfred. When you first meet Alfred, he is sane and well spoken, unaffected by most of the madness in Yharnam. That is until he goes to Cainhurst and kills the Queen. We see a mentally unstable, violent, psychopath who was just pretending to be normal. When we first meet Valtyr he is portrayed in very much the same way as Alfred at Cainhurst, violent, mad, a man who only exists to purge vermin from the Earth, constantly ranting about beasts. As you go on in his quest however, he starts to act more sane, rational, even proud of you, you get to see the man behind the mask. You can see that he truly cares about The League and once you realize his backstory he becomes even more interesting and you understand WHY he is so transfixed in purging vermin and beasts. TLDR, Alfred starts out appearing sane but ultimately turns out insane and Valtyr starts out appearing insane but ultimately turns out to be more sane than he originally appeared.

Let’s see, -you can bring 5 people to safe areas, the old woman, old man, arianna, adella, and the beggar, -there are two people that tell you to bring sane people to safe areas, the chapel dweller, and iosefka (and technically there are two iosefkas since one is an imposter and one is real) -four friendly hunters, eileen, valtr, alfred, and djura (though you can go through the game without befriending him) -there are multiple “window-only” npc’s such as gilbert, the two gascoigne sisters, and multiple random people that hate you for some reason -there’s two queens, Yharnam and Annalise -Provost Willem who is...a random old guy -the Dream NPC’s, the doll and gehrman -the only nightmare npc, Patches the Spider -if we count hostile hunters, then we have two hunters to the right of the grand cathedral, one at the base of djura’s tower, henryk, the bloody crow of cainhurst, the hunter defending Willem, the three hunters in the Hypogean gaol lamp room during the blood moon, and the hunter that you encounter on the bridge after the spider room in the Nightmare Of Mensis -and i guess you can count all the old hunters except for henryk, gascoigne, and alfred, and anyone else that appeared in the above categories (And these are just the base game npc’s, there’d be more if i counted DLC npc’s) If i missed any, let me know

As a lore nut I feel like I must clarify that Ludwig was NOT an Executioner. He was a Holy Blade, one of the very first Church Hunters, and in fact the Executioner faction seems to have originated not in Yharnam. Their assistance was requested by the Church and they may even have once been a part of the Vilebloods, or at least some ally of them before betraying them for the Church (see item: Executioner's Gloves). They have been "blessed" by the Church for this, granting them a tiny statue and the right to bear the Healing Church's symbol (the "Holy Shawl"), but if anything they are glorified mercenaries and traitors. This explanation also lines up with their fixation of Martyrdom, a belief we see literally nowhere else in the subfactions of the Healing Church. It is notable that Alfred is probably not an original Executioner and really is just a fanboy who was once a regular Church Hunter who fantasized about finishing the sacred duties of the Executioners himself. We don't see any living real Executioners with the exception of Queen Killer, but he's a nutcase in the bottom of the Chalice Dungeons so I'm unsure about that. It sounds to me like the Executioners did their duty, accepted the price and glory of it, then returned home, leaving behind only that shrine and the legend of Master Logarius.
Adella doesn't kill the other chick cause she's jealous, it's cause the other lady is vileblood(as seen by the noble dress which is directly related to vilebloods)
I don't know where to put it so I'm gonna put it here, I finished a bloodborne run the other day and when I was facing Arianna's monster child, I was obviously wondering "What the hell is happening?", and I had this theory, I don't know if anyone covered it, but what if that baby... was Mikolash? I think about it because Arianna has this baby right after we kill Mikolash, I wouldn't be surprised if that man had a backup plan for getting killed. And she starts feeling bad after we killed Rom, which apparently somehow helped Mikolash in a way if we believe one of his lines during his fight. Arianna also drops one third of umbilical cord. Now I don't where she could have got that, but I thought I understood Mikolash tried to have an audience with Mergo. Wouldn't that have asked one third of umbilical cord? But where we don't find such a thing after killing him. Also I think it looks so much like Mikolash to try and reincarnate into a monster

I've only just picked this game up and I'm having the time of my life Even though I've missed quite a few of these NPCs my first time through Though I do plan on catching them on NG+ (So long as I can actually beat the Living Failures, I feel like a living failure for struggling agaisnt them
Funny thing about the semaritan, he is a servant of Oedon and will only reward you a gesture when you send a WOMAN to the chapel. Later you see Arianna becoming pregnant by a great one, the simaritan's quest suddenly becomes more sinister.
I feel like the chapel guy could be pthumeru, he kind of looks like them, with the long arms and such. Also, Alfred is my most hated character 😡 He destroyed my queen * grumble mutter *

I actually like Patches. No joke. Patches is actually one of my favorite NPC, especially in Dark Souls.
DS3’s dlc made me absolutely adore Patches when he appeared as Lapp and we got to understand more about his character

I genuinely feel bad for gilbert, he seemed genuinely happy to die a normal death and couldn't even get that
