It's because of the 2.5Ghz connection the USB Link uses to connect to the headsite. Wi-Fi is usually 2.5Ghz too and will interfere with it. If your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi and you place it near the Link it will cause disconnects.
The issue with the dongle for ps5slim user is due to the usb hard drives on the back that cause interference, you can use an usb extension cord and place your dongle further from the hdd and ssd.
I use my headphones for working remote phone calls. The noise canceling mic quality , battery life and the fact that the mic actually reaches the front of my face make it SO WORTH IT. Kinda uncomfortable at first, but EXCELLENT quality for phone calls. I had disconnecting issues before I updated the OS but has been stable. The only thing I would liked is longer dongle range and more bass for music .
I have the explores and same issue with connectivity. I have the OG ps5 and use the front port and it still does it. But other than that they made a decent set of ear buds as well.
I tried moving the dongle to the front of my original ps5 and still have the disconnects. Also tried a usb c adapter and still experiencing disconnects. Something is definitely wrong with the usb dongle software whether it’s interference or something else
I’ve returned two different pairs because of the audio sounding distorted and having a random static clicking noise whether it’s during a game, listening to music or watching a video. Hoping the third pair somehow works fine. I even have the dongle on the front of my PS5 just in case it was a connection issue.
The soda clicking comes from thin foil planar drivers. In my case it appears when there's too much heat inside the headphones while wearing them. Taking them off for a minute helps with mine
@@Dom91133 I have the static clicking sound also, I think it again comes from a weak connection to the dongle, as a few times it intensifies and then disconnects. You can test this by walking away and see if it gets worse and then disconnects

I’ve had these headphones for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love them. The audio quality is amazing (I’m coming from the original Pulse 3D). I must be lucky cause I haven’t had any issues with disconnecting at all, I have an OG PS5 and use the dongle in the back of the console.
OG digital console here, dongle in the back and disconnects (but not often...like once in 3 days or so). Also owned the Pulse 3D before and that never disconnected
I’ve owned my headset for 1 week and have had no connectivity issues with my slim digital. If you want to move the dongle to the front consider picking up a usb a to c adapter

Honestly I haven’t used it much on my p5 yet but it’s amazing on pc and every other device, since I can game and connect Bluetooth at the same time. And it connects flawlessly and it’s nice not having to worry about Bluetooth settings just plug and play. I also use it on my work computer bc I’m WFH, again just plug and play for impromptu meetings. And the Bluetooth connectivity works really well too for my phone and tablet and easy to switch between them. The only thing I don’t really like is my own voice sounds muffled when I talk but I get used to it and I already speak soft in the first place. It’s a great all in one device while I’m at home and I don’t think people talk about that at all when it comes to PlayStation link.
Sometimes when I set them down and come back or turn a device on and off I have to reconnect but all I have to do is click the link/power button on the headphones, idk if that would help.
Maaan I loved the pulse elite headset…but yesterday as I went to pull the headset over my head the white plastic on the side snapped. Also I preordered these headphones and had them for only 6 months…it’s so frustrating because I loved these headphones
Man even hustling screws lol. Y'all, go to the Home Depot or Lowes and pick up a pack of 100 #6 x 1/2 flat head Phillips screws for like $8 and color it with a black sharpie. I'm not about to pay $8 for 4 screws.
Glad its not just me having the disconnect issue. I freaken love these things, sound is amazing especially for the price point, but the disconnects are super annoying. Its has started disconnecting me nightly now, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Only fix i found was restarting my ps5 to get the headset working again. It never occured to me it was a possible heat issue. I have it plugged in the back and my ps5 is in an entertainment stand so it probably does get pretty hot back there. The instruction book said you had to plug it in the back I thought because the USB in the front is only 3.0 not 3.2 like the back ones. Just bought an adapter for the USB type C port in the front since it is 3.2 (only 7 bucks, they are pretty cheap, just make sure its USB 3.2) that comes in tomorrow. Hoping that fixes the issue.
Full disconnects are likely not a heat issue. But bad audio quality for pulse 3d's definitely is! I have the latest version of the non slim and when I started using the rear USB port and got some hear in it after an hour or two it would crackle and bits of audio would just drop out. So if you can, please put your dongles up front. If you're on slim, get a decent usb C to usb A adapter. I haven't got my Elites yet they're coming tomorrow, so I can't confirm this on those but it's likely still an issue. Leave that rear port for nothing but low power charging or stuff like that, it just gets too hot.
I don't get many disconnects, but the volume control on the screen will stop showing up after about an hour. Sony really needs to update the firmware on these
I’ve plugged my dongle into the front of my PS5 since day 1 and I’m returning mine because they disconnect repeatedly. Also disconnects when plugged into my laptop. So I don’t think it’s a heat issue. Both are hardwired with wifi turned off so not sure about wifi interference either.. 🤷🏻♂️
I own a Logitech G435, when I connect my dongle on the back, the heat makes the dongle gets disconnected. Now I use it in a USB extension in the front. Never got disconnected since.

Yeah, your suggestion doesn't fix the problem. After multiple attempts and fixes proposed by folks near and far, I can say this: It's not heat, it's not distance, it's not a crowded 2.4 GHz environment, and it's not a slim or OG PS5 issue. None of these "fixes" work as the disconnects always return eventually. It is simply bad headphone hardware (or firmware). So I bought a the new pulse elite and I’m having a problem with the Audio. Specially when I hear music it’s like a crackling sound. Thinking about returning them for another pair. Anyone else with the same problem?
I find both headphones cuffs irritating and not comfortable just because of the material. It collects easy sweat and makes it feel tighter than most other headsets

Hate those popping noises. i thought the console update fixed it but two days ago I heard it again in the right cup and yesterday in the left cup (but it stopped popping after 10 minutes of use for some reason). I also don't think it's because of the heat cause mine disconnected after 10 minutes of play, the dongle was barely warm

Yes but you need to buy Dolby atmos driver and license. Head phones by themselves don’t process sound it’s drivers in your console or pc doing that work. Any head phone can deliver immersive sound. For ps5 just plug them into your controller and its sound engine does the work. For pc you have to buy and install a Dolby atmos license it’s like $15
Dang that's sounds like a major design flaw. If it can be proven by some tech person. Perhaps it's possible to make a lawsuit. Have you tried a USB to usbc dong to use it in the front. Or does it really need usba for the signal

I’m having the same issue with the pulse explore. I noticed it the other day my dongle was on Fire! I unplugged it and just plugged an older turtle beach headset in my controller until it cooled down. Can I use a type c to usb dongle then plug the link adapter into that?
The Mic Quality is much better with AI off. However it is marketed to have Ai tech to a certain degree remove background noise but in reality its like splitting up two sounds lowering the quality of the voice and layering a muffled sound of crisps to it. so with your clip with the mic ai my brain was ligit bein tortured because it sounds like your speaking with the crisps sound merged into the voice. not joking it was painful to hear. (im using my Xbox wireless headset rn)
Bullshit it disconnects on the front of the console too I have the horizon forbidden west bundle and I've gone threw 2 of these headphones this third final one I will return it if it screws up and go for the Astros A50
So I have these headphones and they connect to my portal without an issue. I wonder if the replacement portal that you got from Sony has an issue? Because the connection process is so easy between the portal and the head phones.
I just use the Bass Boost preset and it works good...but make sure you go into setting and setup your 3D audio profile so it fine tunes it for your ears. You have to set that up
sigh i got these as my early bday gift to myself on the playstation store a week ago and i’ve been playing my games and all of a sudden hear a crackling or like white nose static feedback?? it scared me that they would blowout (bc that happened to my alienware headset) it happens in all games, i have it on bass boost and even if i turn the volume waaaay tf down.. the dongle is getting overheated on the back of my slim like u said so i turned it to the side but it’s still.. ass. idk man i’m stressed i put so much money into all this shit and i can’t afford to replace it. i tried changing the EQ but nothing changes any of it.. like is my set just faulty from PS and i should’ve ordered elsewhere or is it just a thing to get used to ..

I have pulse explores earbuds and I gotta say overall I'm surprised. I get the disconnects when connecting to the console viabthe dongle but the direct connection to the portal has been flawless. Subjective experience I guess 🤷♂️
Make sure that dongle is not plugged in the back that could fix your disconnect issues.
Man I played with it for a week an it worked perfectly, now it only connects to Bluetooth. I haven't connected to the ps link since it came out
Returned mine. Very dissatisfied. Disconnects and white noise.
My issues have been when plugged into the controller, it keeps turning off. Any fix for that?
Had a few weeks and now the dongel don't work it don't even light up and I tried it in all 3 of my ps5s
I only wore for about an hr and it's a no for me. Doesn't fit with braids 😢
Don’t wear braids

@$$ yt mf would say that.
I returned 2 pairs and just picked up my 3rd . Disconnect issues for the 1st. Snapped dongle in half for the 2nd. I did connect the dongle to the back for the 1st time tho. Imma try the front but any disconnect issues and im instantly returning
Will you get the same surround sound on PC as well? Or just the PS5
I think it disconnects bc of a software issue. I have an og ps5 and the slim and I use Astro a30’s for both and they disconnect as well
Try unplugging the dongle from the PS5 before you try to hook it to the PSPortal
Aight bet I'mma try that
But bro!!! You paid $8 for a pack of 4 screws?!? Some pulled you major. Simply measure width. Go to general store and get couple cents scree
Aye ima be honest after a couple months of use the joints it snapped and broke over time im really frustrated because it hasn’t been over a year and they broke on the joint I noticed a small break last month and today when taking off my headset it snapped and putting it back on it wouldn’t stay still idk if other people can relate but they seemed fragile 🤦🏾♂️
One month later, it broke at the white plastic, another month later, broken other side. What an utter POS.
Maybe it’s because of that bull ring
Keep the dongle away from any other dongles and you should be good. More radio waves affect the PS link dongle.
Hi i have these pulse elite and the Sony h9 wireless let me tell you the pulse elite they lack lack lack bass the Sony h9 wireless sound so much better audeze maxwell don't either bother there too too too heavy for every day usage it's like putting a helmet on if you want the best try the astro a50x I've had mine for two weeks now and they blow the Sony h9 wireless and the pulse elite out of the water bass is delicious and imaging is second to none try the astro a50x you will thank me later stay safe and happy gaming to all
Nah got regular ps5 and disconnect just bought them yesterday and got disconnected atleast 4x and when I press the mute button sometimes the light doesn’t click all the way
Idk my boy my elite and portal wrk flawlessly now the ps5 slim it’s facts it disconnects continuously
I’m having the same issue with the pulse explore. I noticed it the other day my dongle was on Fire! I unplugged it and just plugged an older turtle beach headset in my controller until it cooled down. Can I use a type c to usb dongle then plug the link adapter into that?
Yes you can it works still, does it fix the issue I have yet to experience it again to let you know if it’s fixed
Screw? Just use a command strip
I have the same issue too with the disconnect??? Help please 🙏
I break it down in the video on a possible fix.
I plug the dongle in the front, and it still disconnects after about an hour of gaming.
Oh wow...really? Yea you might wanna try and get a new pair
@@CKidM I'm going to try a usb extender and see if that works.
Good idea, keep us informed if it that fixed the issue.

How do you turn off the A.I for the mic?
Do you hear background noice threw the mic as well?
Whats the best eq settings for mw3 im having trouble hearing footsteps
I just use the Bass Boost preset and it works good...but make sure you go into setting and setup your 3D audio profile so it fine tunes it for your ears. You have to set that up
@@CKidM ok thanks ill try that out
Yes it’s a bit problem my it’s connected to the front usb A
But doesn’t work
What you think I can do to fix it?
Thumbnails be killing me bro😂😂😂
sigh i got these as my early bday gift to myself on the playstation store a week ago and i’ve been playing my games and all of a sudden hear a crackling or like white nose static feedback?? it scared me that they would blowout (bc that happened to my alienware headset) it happens in all games, i have it on bass boost and even if i turn the volume waaaay tf down.. the dongle is getting overheated on the back of my slim like u said so i turned it to the side but it’s still.. ass. idk man i’m stressed i put so much money into all this shit and i can’t afford to replace it. i tried changing the EQ but nothing changes any of it.. like is my set just faulty from PS and i should’ve ordered elsewhere or is it just a thing to get used to ..
update?
@@ekittykay yeah that shit never went away … lol. it also randomly disconnects and i have to spend 10-15min getting it to reconnect again. 🤷🏼♀️😩
