Great job. It is a very significant video, especially for preterists who lean very heavily on "this generation." I think another example in the NT is Matthew 10. he seems to start with the contemporary "you" but then jumps forward to a future time since many of the events in that chapter aren't fulfilled by that first missionary journey.
Very good study. Thank you! I completely agree!! Many people don't understand the "Trans-generational you". Another misunderstanding is the "historical present".
@@callienn So you think Jesus lied? Jesus said before this Generation and before that generation passed Jerusalem fell and the Temple was so destroyed not one stone was left upon anther.
Excellent presentation and a highly under-discussed topic. The trans-generational “you,” used by Jesus, makes perfect sense, if "only the Father knows" when. It also corroborates Paul’s use of the subject pronoun “we,” in his description of the rapture, which immediately precedes his "comes as a thief,” regarding the “times and epochs” (i.e. the DOL). Instead of two comings of the Lord, Blaising describes the Coming of the Lord as a unified series of events, preceded by, but included as part of this multi-stage coming, is the rapture. Paul and Jesus both seem to teach it is the entire 70th Week that bears the unknown time element. But, it all could've been pending in Paul's day and mind (not just the rapture). A trans-generational “you,” is substantiated by Paul's trans-generational “we,” and other subject pronouns used by Paul, such as “they” and “them.” This explaination is the most natural rendering of the text. How else could a topic be explained if the timing is unknown, except with the use of these subject pronouns? This topic would be a great future Pre Trib Study Group conference presentation.
Do you prefer comments on her or twitter? I have so many thoughts on this concept. Any chance you offer an online course? I'm sitting in Jerusalem in war, watching all of these teachings on Israel's restoration! LOL.
Another great video! Solid discussion of the intergenerational "you." Fantastic work!
Thank you Dr. Vlach for all you do! Appreciate your work for the body of Christ!
Thank you!
