i’ve dealt with bad eczema on my hands and wrists for more than a year until i started taking cold showers only a few weeks ago, and now it’s almost completely healed
Tip for beginners: Hold a deep breath, get in and once you enter exhale SLOWLY, then inhale again SLOWLY to prevent hyperventilation and repeat the process until you are comfortable in the water, at least that's what helped me.
I always take a breath as i get in with my feet first so i already get exposed to the could. And then i’m holding a deep breath by the time i fully emerge in the cold water. Then i let out a deep exhale

I've been showering with cold water for 2 years even in winter. It helps me refresh my mind and I feel relaxed for some reason. I was never a big fan of hot water.
glad we have similar values. I though I was the only one. I've been taking cold showers since early 2020. Hot showers make me feel like garbage if I don't take a cold one after. Cold showers also help me sleep for some reason
@@greenanime8359 Yeah when I usually tell people I prefer cold showers they think I am crazy. I just hate hot water for some reason idek why like I can't even drink hot water that's how much I dislike it. Cold showers also help me sleep. Cold showers are really comfortable for me.
YES. I’ve been going on two weeks of doing this and just standing in the cold water. I kept saying I couldn’t do it but I just force myself to just immediately back into the water as if it was a cold pool.
And breath properly and closing my eyes work for me. I'm saying to myself 1 mintue and it's over. Don't ruin it. I do hot-cold showers like 1min hot 1 min cold 5 times

I’ve been taking cold showers cuz it’s supposed to be good for textured hair and also because I’m always hot. I live in a desert climate and its easy to be overwhelmed by the heat
I'm turning 14 later this week and I recently tried taking a cold shower. I usually shower in warm-hot water so this was a challenge but I kept telling myself I could do it and after a little bit of motivation I did. 😁 I felt like it was a big step out of my comfort zone but it was definitely worth it!! I felt amazing after it and seriously would recommend to anyone. I'll definitely be taking cold showers more often now 😊
I take them AFTER working in winter. 60 seconds as cold as possible Helps with inflammation. Better sleep. Almost never cramps during sleep. Do recommend! ♥️👍
No. The benefits of a cold/chill shower are the same as hot/warm showers. There was a study from 2016 that had 2300 participates take hot shower, and a few taking warm showers with cold water at the end for 60 seconds. This was conducted for 30 straight days. Some even continue the routine. this was to test how many less absences a person would have and it decreased by 29%. Meaning it was one less day missed a month. The sample size was small, and the fact that NO ONE knows why, because there was nothing related to biology in the article or any sort of explanation. It can easily be ruled out as a coincidence, especially considering thats what the the goal was for participant's and they were made aware of this. They COULD HAVE implicitly les to this result. Although there was another study done that had swimmers, swim in cold water. This increased the amount of white blood cells in their body. But they spent more than 1 1/2 hours in water. Thats different than spending a spolid 25 minutes taking a shower and that time is better spent elsewhere. Truthfully there isn't enough evidence to suggest it has any actual benefit. You're better taking a warm/hot shower if you are comfortable with it.
That is interesting! I know this is just anecdotal, but I personally know someone whose body pain (inflammation) has reduced significantly since he started taking cold showers. He does it daily now and feels much better all over!
I find being cold so uncomfortable so it's difficult but I notice it made me feel better and more alert though so imma keep doing it I switch from hot to cold so it's easier
@@SentientChezburger they get easier, but I stopped doing it after a week. Would wake up feeling sick with a sore throat. Went back to hot showers and feel better
Being uncomfortable sometimes can help you grow as a person :) I have been taking cold showers for a week, and they help ease the soreness from morning basketball and evening taekwondo.
I have an important question. I shower everyday VERY Cold, until it‘s no longer possible (I hope you understand). Is it good or should i not take a that cold shower? Please answer. Thanks.
Just sit there to contemplate it all after you come back because you're gonna see such crazy and radical things in these trips. That when you come back you're gonna be like what the fuck was that? And you're gonna spend a week just in the shower, what the fuck was that? Cooking your food, what the fuck was that? Driving to work, what the fuck was that? Sitting at work doing your work, what the fuck was that? Thinking that. Trying to wrap your mind around it. Try to remember and trying to figure it out and that's a very valuable process.
What ever you do don’t take cold showers. I tried this and it’s taking a huge mental toll on me. My anxiety is rising and I can’t get any sleep do not do it
That's so not true honestly stop lying I tried this for a few days in November and believe me there was change in my lifestyle a good change but after a few days I had to quit as mom said I might catch cold and fever but I am gonna resume it as it's good for your health

Yes they can get cold enough. Depends where you live. If water can get cold enough to freeze in your pipes, it can get too cold for your body to manage. However, the difference between being outside and in the shower is you will instinctively step away if it becomes too cold in the shower. So while you are unlikely to get hypothermia in the shower, the water is cold enough to put you in that state if you stayed in the water.
And you know what the best thing about hot showers are is that you get good sleep the night before you take one you don’t need to take a cold shower in the morning you can, but without soap helps wake you up before you go to bed you take that nice warm, hot shower, help relax your muscles in your blood vessels and everything else.
