Thank you for the video! Are the front seats different/better? I test drove a 2020 or 2021 CRV and that driver's seat, mostly the headrest was so uncomfortable!
I just test drive this one and the seats were very comfortable. I test drove the 2022 several months ago and I didn't think they were too bad. But these are great!
I’m love Honda CRV so comfy to drive I usually almost crash to the gutter as I fall asleep 😂. Planning to get this one if there’s lane alarm assist if you are lost in the line
I have a Gen 9 Accord with CVT, love the one petal mode. It's not a option really, I just make it a option with downshifts. Most back roads I drive, I have zero brake petal inputs. I want to test drive the Sport soon. Just wish the 2022 Honda Accord Sport hybrid had the simulated shifts over the droning of the 2.0L engine. Great review and thanks for answering most the questions I had about the Honda 2023 CRV Hybrid.
hey do you mind clarifying something, when you put it in sport mode, i got quieter, is that because the throttle is more aggressive? or because fake sound is being piped into the cabin?
Great review. Seeing a 6'4" fellow in the this CRV's back seat with room to spare is impressive engineering, Honda. When Honda gets the logistics of a full BEV version lined up, I'll be a customer. Trivia: the first Honda experience for me was behind the wheel of a school mate's new 1975 Civic 2dr. It was ridiculously fun.
I am 6'1" and this is a major factor in my car purchases. Not only headroom, but seating fit is critical. Had a 2009 CRV, currently driving a 2015 and this 2023 will be my next. Speaking of fun... a school mate had a 1992 Acura Integra, and I ended up buying a used 1992 in 1997. Such a fun car to drive....I miss it so much!
@@gosman949 smart you kept it. My friend had a 1988 RX-7. Quite a beast! I had a dream last year that I found my old Integra for sale and bought it back for my second car.
Nice job Mike. Is it enough to unseat the current leaders? BTW I'm in Canada and I saw one on the road recently. Are they shipping in volume? Cheers. Jim
Looks great! Far better than the previous version (all the new gen Hondas look great so far!). I just wish Honda (and some other Japanese brands) would keep up with the Koreans and Germans when it comes to technology. Both Honda and Toyota play it safe way to much with their tech. While that's admittedly great in some aspects, it's bad in others. Not a bad looking car, not bad tech, just not all that competitive with other brands. I mean, they're still using basically the same screens they have been since 2016.
Honda's lane watch camera has been out since 2016 and maybe earlier. Did any of the Germans have this tech? I don't think so. Honda was also one of the early adopters of android auto.
toyota is quickly rolling out their new 12.3inch mid screens across their lineup for 2023 (first seen on the new crown) and its pretty damn configurable. its like they just leapfrogged the competition and are now up on par with the tech leaders again.
What speed were you driving on? Was the road mostly uphill? Was the weather really cold? Was the AC/heater on full blast? A lot of factors affect the MPG.
What speed? Cold? Uphill? Jesus everytime I read yet another who bought this CRV and got abysmal fuel mpg that's nothing close to EPA everyone tries to justify it saying or asking about hills or other crap. It's not a fuel efficient vehicle. Many say the regular gas version is identical mileage real world and not the higher price. For a brand new vehicle design... Pathetic
@@sharkhark I have a hybrid myself and those factors certainly affect the MPG. Hybrids are most gas-efficient on local flat roads, warm temps (around 60-70 degrees) and speeds up to 65 mph. Saying that hills and "other crap" doesn't affect the MPG is just an ignorant comment.
New ’23 CRV Sport (AWD) owner here. I’m certain there’s a lot of variables that account for that, Brandon. Don’t despair just yet! I live in SF Bay Area and do a lot of mixed driving in both downtown SF and the backroads of the peninsula, with some freeway thrown in. So far averaging in the upper 30s combined. I’m realizing the best results when keeping a steady throttle and relaxing it prior to rolling to the stop lights. Using the regen braking paddle on the down hills. In those circumstances my urban, stop and go driving mileage bumps up to the low 40’s. My understanding is that the CRV’s engine has a fixed ratio gearset for the highway cruising - not a traditional CVT, and that this gearing is doing double duty when the inputs cause the engine to engage at lower speeds too, like acceleration or going uphill. If you can resist a heavy foot on the long freeway jaunts - I’m thinking you should be able to realize better MPGs, especially as the engine continues to break in. Hope this helps!
Pano sunroof is just more wind noise to me personally so I don't mind it. The ventilated seats is a big miss though as is the 360 camera. I suspect all the shortages are due to the lack of supply and chip shortages. To offer the hybrid on lower trims would be make it even more frustrating to even secure one. The wait on a RAV4 hybrid is 6-9 months from what my friend told me.
In Canada comes with heated rear seats. B drive will not work when cruise control is used. No EV rebate for regenerative hybrids in Canada. Has brake hold which is amazing. Wiper arms need to be put in maintenance mode. Do not attempt to raise arms without using this mode. Also has wiper defrost mode to ensure wipers don’t freeze to window. All in all I’ve tried the RAV4 and yes its mileage is slightly better but the Honda sold me due to its quality and fit. It feels so much better than the RAV4. Try them both you will probably agree.
Just test drove 2023 CRV hybrid and 2023 Accord hybrid. 2023 CRV hybrid: everything is pretty good except very NOISY cabin. 2023 Accord hybrid: everything is good.
This is like the no-brainer one to go with. Better styling, more performance & better fuel economy.. I'm not sold on those front "exhausts" tho ( I know they're not exhausts, it just looks like it) lmao would def wrap them black.
I sorta saw the CR-V as a good mix of the Rav4 and cx-50. Fuel economy and features aren't quite as good as rav, but close. Drive and interior isn't as refined (I think it is, but others might disagree) as Mazda, but it's close. For me, a best of both worlds decision.
Almost everything about this car is great except the Chrome in the front and the large grill. I need something more streamlined nowadays. I'll just keep my 2012 MDX for a few more years until something better comes alone
Funny how the awd is tested in this video. 🤣 Taking one turn and driving on curvy roads does not give the system justice. A better test is to take it off road.
this looks somewhat cool. It’s gonna do wonders for Honda of course. But you can tell they saved a couple of coins on the interior. Mr. Danger, keep up the great work. Proud of you.
Mike you are my new favorite car guy. Real world review for the average person. Enjoyed how you covered everything that most consumers care about. Yes sir, I just subscribed 😊
Great work Honda! There is no doubt that the Honda CRV is an attractive vehicle, however, I have to ask why it does not offer a panoramic roof, a heads-up display, and a 360-degree camera??
Honda stubbornly refuses to put certain high end features on a Honda if there's an equivalent in Acura One example recently was the differential on the civic si, which they removed only to add it to the Integra.. Poor planning imo, artificially gating features, and moving them back n forth between models or years will force customers to look elsewhere
FWIW, I love my moonroof and I think 360 degree cameras are dumb. I like trusting my eyes going down the road personally, (not some 2D distorted camera) I even turned off the auto activation of my right side camera. Turning my head using mirror and looking out back side windows gives me a view of the entirety of the lane next to me. I've had over 600,000kms driven in 30 years with no accidents.
not liking the open honeycomb vent panel; too hard to keep clean. its a total redesign, so y does it look so much like the previous generation pilot from the side?
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada this crossover is built in the honda manufacturing plant in Alliston north of Toronto Ontario thanks for the presentation
Simple question for the channel. Is this car more quite than the 2022CX-5? I’ve been looking for buy a CX-5, and I know the interior is very quite in that vehicle
As quiet I'd say, maybe a bit more on a highway. I personally like the way it drives as much, just has a very planted feel. Cx-50 handles very well, but this CR-V doesn't roll at all on tight turns
UF1 11 minutes ago Let's see, things not on the crv that the competition offers: 1. Heads up display 2. 360 camera 3. Cooled seats 4. Panoramic roof And where the honda engineers placed the backseat reclining lever is just plain stupid! I test drove this vehicle yesterday, overall nice honda quality but the lack of options will lose them piles of sales to the competition
Had the past three CRV versions…loved them. Saw the newest CRV hybrid…absolutely beautiful…but the hybrid has no spare tire or run flat tires. If you happen be a a trip away from any dealer or service station and get a cut on the sideway of your tire or even a large puncture your stuck. The tire repair kit is a joke. Towing would be your only option. Toyota, Mazda, Kia etc, found room for a spare. Sorry but that’s a deal breaker for the Honda CR-V Hybrid so called Touring Version.
These are so nice looking. But I prefer the lights from previous model. And Honda really needs to step it up with the size of their infotainment screen. That’s so tiny.
I think it can't get better than this when it comes to compact SUVs, still panaromic sunroof and 360 camera are missing in this one. Wish they included that 😒😒
@simon joseph - thats right even RAV4 higher trims got 360 sorround view, digital display rearview mirror, ventilated seats, fog lights (standard), spare tire.
@@garnerlibato4887and most important? Real life mpg is from what I read often 38 to 43 mpg overall whereas some in CRV get only 28mpg not anything close to 39
I agree too. I'm just waiting for a plug in hybrid of full electric accord. I have a hybrid accord right now and I love it! Can't wait to see what they do with the next gen!
First, I have a ‘15 Accord Hybrid (with 145k miles now) that has never done me wrong. It’s been incredibly reliable. It does have a whimsy drone when trying to merge at high speeds; but other than that it is an excellent appliance. It does lack storage due to the battery. The “B” mode is not new in that my car has it, but I’ve assumed it to be and used it as a braking method for harder breaking as if downshifting on a standard transmission. Before I bought my car, I always said I would never purchase a CVT, a 4-banger, or a hybrid powertrain. Since buying it on accident, I have no complaint whatsoever. Living in a hilly and rural area, the mpgs aren’t as good as advertised due to generally higher speeds and less stopping. But even when the weather is hotter or colder, it usually averages about 37 mpg. When the weather is perfect (65-80 degrees f), it averages closer to 43 mpg… but this is south Alabama, so that only happens for about 4 weeks out of the year.

It's not a sports car and comparing it to the smaller and more expensive performance-oriented RDX or turbo CX-5 is kinda silly.
The back seat is .ore conformable.
I find the seats a little stiff, comparing them to my Ridgeline
Finally!!!a person who is as tall as me that I can follow for vehicle reviews.
Happy I helped!
Great review and thanks for answering most the questions I had about the Honda 2023 CRV Hybrid.
good review!! good job!!
hey do you mind clarifying something, when you put it in sport mode, i got quieter, is that because the throttle is more aggressive? or because fake sound is being piped into the cabin?
Nice review sir 👍
Thanks Kenj
Great review. Seeing a 6'4" fellow in the this CRV's back seat with room to spare is impressive engineering, Honda. When Honda gets the logistics of a full BEV version lined up, I'll be a customer. Trivia: the first Honda experience for me was behind the wheel of a school mate's new 1975 Civic 2dr. It was ridiculously fun.
Nice! My first Honda experience was in my McDonald’s coworker’s suped-up CRX back in 2002. So much fun!
yes my high heeled college friend had a 1975 Civic. I thought it was ridiculously small and not very attractive.
@@canadude6401 I still enjoy my 1979 RX-7.! Original owner.
@@gosman949 smart you kept it. My friend had a 1988 RX-7. Quite a beast! I had a dream last year that I found my old Integra for sale and bought it back for my second car.
Great presentation!
Nice job Mike. Is it enough to unseat the current leaders? BTW I'm in Canada and I saw one on the road recently. Are they shipping in volume? Cheers. Jim
They are shipping and building in volume. Source-> I build them.
You don't want Honda becoming a fancy yet unreliable German car!
toyota is quickly rolling out their new 12.3inch mid screens across their lineup for 2023 (first seen on the new crown) and its pretty damn configurable. its like they just leapfrogged the competition and are now up on par with the tech leaders again.
@basedondennis Toyota is a 10 month delivery so I had to go Honda on the lot. My wife must test drive first.
We need more bloopers in the ending just like this 😆
something to look forward too.
Great review from mr. danger.
It was such a great take, too, and it was RUINED!
Thank you for the great review! I've been waiting for a review on the hybrid.
Thanks for that, Ron. And me too! And it wouldn’t hurt to get a plug in CR-V tooooo
MR. Danger did it again!! Another great review!!
Thanks Tony!
Wife is 6'2" thankful Mr Danger did the review.
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
great video as always!
Is the 2023 CRV susceptible to the oil dillution in its 1.5 Turbo engine?
Like this presentation
Is Homelink included?
Nice review.
Thanks for the great review! 👏👏👏
I have the CRV hybrid touring. I got 23.2 mpg on my 60-mile trip today. 1800 miles on it and fully regret buying it.
Pathetic
Thx for that honest info Brandon I'm passing on this despite a great modern interior vs RAV4
🇺🇸 I'm glad they have you and micah doing boring vehicles. Cr v looks best with black wheels. Can't wait for pilot.
Excellent review
Danger with another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review
Thanks Eric!
The lack of a pano sunroof, cooled seats, and hybrid availability only at the top trim is frustrating
Great review ! The price is so high on these cars tho, your throat lol 😅
Mike Danger, killin it
🙌🏾🙌🏾 thanks!
do they have a 7 seater version, that would be sad if they dont
Great review. Beautiful vehicle. A little pricey.
Thank ya. Yeah a lil bit…
Can’t wait, I put an order for a sport touring hybrid.
Just test drove 2023 CRV hybrid and 2023 Accord hybrid. 2023 CRV hybrid: everything is pretty good except very NOISY cabin.
2023 Accord hybrid: everything is good.
Excellent review!😸
What’s the point of having a one petal mode if you still have to utilize the brake?
pedal*
This is like the no-brainer one to go with. Better styling, more performance & better fuel economy.. I'm not sold on those front "exhausts" tho ( I know they're not exhausts, it just looks like it) lmao would def wrap them black.
Those are called air shutter grilles. They are actually active cooling and fully functional
I'm debating between this and hybrid RAV4. Honda tends to do better with ergonomics and comfort. So I might be leaning toward the CRV.
@@ashwinswamy2180 I hate the fact there's no spare tire though.
@@justanotherdude9391that's why car and driver and about 5 other reviewers said it's purely cosmetic.
I like its look, subtle not trying hard or anything.
The Wagovan is back!
Hopefully, the new Pilot is a HYBRID, too!
Very nice update, but all the local Honda dealerships demanding 6K+ above MSRP so bought a Subaru instead.
this looks somewhat cool. It’s gonna do wonders for Honda of course. But you can tell they saved a couple of coins on the interior.
Mr. Danger, keep up the great work. Proud of you.
They saved a patch of leather by not putting in the left pocket storage on the back of the driver seat 😂
Thats honda for you
Love the vehicle and review! Great job :)
I find it ironic how CR-V stands for compact recreational vehicle but it's anything but compact nowadays
2:27 editing error, city and hwy should be flipped for fuel economy
Hybrids get better fuel economy in city driving
Mike you are my new favorite car guy. Real world review for the average person. Enjoyed how you covered everything that most consumers care about. Yes sir, I just subscribed 😊
Hey Marc I’m late to the comment but very appreciative for that! Thanks dude!
its such a good car for tall people
Great work Honda! There is no doubt that the Honda CRV is an attractive vehicle, however, I have to ask why it does not offer a panoramic roof, a heads-up display, and a 360-degree camera??
Excellent question! I think if it had the features you mentioned and possibly fog lights like before, then it would be unstoppable!!
Honda stubbornly refuses to put certain high end features on a Honda if there's an equivalent in Acura
One example recently was the differential on the civic si, which they removed only to add it to the Integra..
They are cheap. That's why. They know there's little inventory in all vehicles they can take away wanted features and save money and overcharge
@@canadude6401yeah who needs technology... Get off my porch... Where's my blankie for my lap🙄
Great review, the local dealer has told me one is coming in soon to test drive! (as of Nov. 14th) I'm 6'3" so your perspective is valuable.
🤣 "peddling to the grocery store". Great review as usual.
🤣🤣 thanks Chris. I love me a good grocery store run!
not liking the open honeycomb vent panel; too hard to keep clean. its a total redesign, so y does it look so much like the previous generation pilot from the side?
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada this crossover is built in the honda manufacturing plant in Alliston north of Toronto Ontario thanks for the presentation
Simple question for the channel. Is this car more quite than the 2022CX-5? I’ve been looking for buy a CX-5, and I know the interior is very quite in that vehicle
As quiet I'd say, maybe a bit more on a highway. I personally like the way it drives as much, just has a very planted feel. Cx-50 handles very well, but this CR-V doesn't roll at all on tight turns

Let's see, things not on the crv that the competition offers:
1. Heads up display
2. 360 camera
3. Cooled seats
4. Panoramic roof
And where the honda engineers placed the backseat reclining lever is just plain stupid!
I test drove this vehicle yesterday, overall nice honda quality but the lack of options will lose them piles of sales to the competition
I have a 20 year old second generation Honda Crv in good shape. You can buy this Honda Crv and you could pass it to your children after 16 years
Had the past three CRV versions…loved them.
Does anyone else during the intro have the same thought process of “ I wonder which reviewer it’ll be , Mike,Micah, or Lynn?”
These are so nice looking. But I prefer the lights from previous model. And Honda really needs to step it up with the size of their infotainment screen. That’s so tiny.
This fella who did this review is excellent a fantastic job! Does this model have a 360 camera?
No, it doesn’t unfortunately.
Thanks, Adam!
Great job and nice review. Honda CR-V is a great suv but I'll still go with the number one competitor Toyota RAV4 hybrid.
Thank you for demonstrating the loud engine noise is only in sport mode. It is much quieter in normal mode. Otherwise, it's a dealbreaker for me.
He demonstrated anc feature. This is active sound creation so the noise in fact is synthetic in sport mode and not the actual engine noise
I think it can't get better than this when it comes to compact SUVs, still panaromic sunroof and 360 camera are missing in this one. Wish they included that 😒😒
so many things missing, and pricing is beyond insane
@simon joseph - thats right even RAV4 higher trims got 360 sorround view, digital display rearview mirror, ventilated seats, fog lights (standard), spare tire.
Seems like they neuter Honda to try to justify Acura
@@elsapomasguapo they didn't neuter the price. This is the biggest scam I've ever seen in the automotive industry
@@garnerlibato4887and most important? Real life mpg is from what I read often 38 to 43 mpg overall whereas some in CRV get only 28mpg not anything close to 39
I wanna buy a Honda CR-V. 🥰
I like that Honda seems to be increasing the use of sound deadening materials, has me more interested in the next gen accord coming out soon.
totally agree
Does it have paddle shifters?
I would have been sold to this if only it has 2.0 instead of the loud 1.5
Complete noob here, but what I get from this is that you can drive in "B" mode full time without damaging anything?
