Marcus Rashford has had plenty of chances with Van gaal, Mourinho, OLE, Ragnick, Ten Hag and now Amorim. He lacks the motivation to better himself, or carry on from where he had a good season. As ole said he lacks personal ambition. Overall it’s his lifestyle outside of football that has affected him on the pitch.
I hope Garnacho looks at this and realises he's not untouchable either. His form might not have been as all over the fucking shop as Rashfords but I get the distinct sense from him he thinks he's made it. He's a kid with alot to prove and a long way to go.
He's a nice guy. Besides that for many years Rashford represented this promise to United fans, this promise of potential, of the possibility of leaving the bad days of the club behind, of reaching for something great They saw in him, and in the other people questioning him, a bit of a reflection of the state of their club. Hoping that Rashford would wake up was also hoping that Manchester United would.

Hey Lawrence I hope you read this I rarely comment. I think your thumbnails and videography are second to none and I’ve been watching RUclips since 2008. If I ever wanted to start a channel I’d use yours as inspiration on the technical side of things (content ofc depends on what the channel is about)
Hit the nail on the head at 6:00 there mate; the Glazers share a massive responsibility in dropping standards at the club and letting the players get away with all sorts.. feel for Rashford but if he's become too comfortable and not willing to pull his socks up like everyone else, which it seems Amorim has already come to the conclusion, he must leave; or the risk of infecting other players with the same bug will always persist
Rashford simply isn't as good a footballer as is required to play for a team at the top end of the premier league. Given United are 13th now that wouldn't be a huge problem, but he's getting something like 15 million GBP per annum.
Love your nuanced take. As infuriating as it’s been to see him stop caring, it’ll be painful to see him go. He’s a local lad that surrounded himself with leeches. And you’re right, same happened to Pogba and Sancho. It’s a pattern of young men not being mentored properly or protected by the club.
I dont have a fav prem league team, as im not from England. But its funny to me how everyone has their violins out for him, and we all know its because he is english and playing for manchester united. He doesnt fit in to Amorims tactics and so he is out, its quite simple.
Great watch and coverage as always 👊🏿. Really love the filming angle as well. Something about the camera halo making it feel more like s conversation rather than me just watching someone.
Rashford is overrated and the amount of media attention this average payer get is insane, his record in the premier league in terms of goals is 17, thats all thats the most he has ever scored, yes he has a purple patch where he scored over 30 but even in that season he was poor before the world cup, and the purple patch he had was straight after the world cup and towards the latter stages of that season he fell of badly, but even in that season the most he scored in the premier league was 17, before that it's usually around 9,10,11 this is poor for a so called star player the media makes him out to be, he need to leave united he has nver been close to world class the media inflated his ego and he thinks he is better than he actually is this is shown by his dress code and the way he carries himse away from the pitch, doing intervi with LeBron James dressing like a super star as if he is on the same level as Neymar its ridiculous he should be sold
I respectfully disagree re the definition. Sin, in biblical context at least, is choosing to live your life your own way, instead of submitting to God. I think there is a significant difference between this definition and trying to "hit the mark" but slightly veer off course (so to speak) I can appreciate that may not result in good content or helpful analogies - but hey, thought I would comment anyway. The etymology of the word sin in English comes from Old English synne, which became sinne in Middle English. They come from the proto Germanic word sūnjo, which means truth, implying a verdict of being truly guilty against an accusation. There’s some more context to it but I’m lazy to type it all out. The definition Loz is working from is from Hebrew where the word for sin is khata which means to fail or miss the goal
Rashford has no one else but himself to blame. I don't really care about what he does out of pitch...partying,,going usa to watch basketball but on the pitch lack of effort,,walking and showing no interest to press is what makes me angry..I think it is time for him and united to find separate ways
Keane,Scholes,Rooney and others from that era used to party hard but work harder at the training sessions and then put in maximum effort on the pitch winning EPL and ECL titles along the way. If they had performed like Rashford then they would have been left out of a SAF team and transferred out of the Club. He has been given more chances than any other United player that I remember since I started to support them in 1970...it is time for United and Rashford to part ways...Garnacho should be given 1 more season to autocorrect.
Wonder which new club will be willing to pay his wages? It’s a rash that won’t go away. Ruben trying to be like Stallone in the 1986 movie called Cobra. Wearing those nice glasses, Ruben says to Marcus, “You’re the disease. I’m the cure!”
Who knows if we hadn’t already done it privately. But even if not, his discipline has been an issue for years. I was in a bar in Manchester the night we had just played Liverpool in the pre season friendly in USA this summer. Rashford was in there, which meant he had played a game on a different continent 18 hours before then got a flight back and went out. Instead of resting and preparing for the next day. Just shows where his head has been.
Love the fisheye confessional booth setup. On the matter at hand Loz, you got 90% of your thoughts correct imo BUT I think you left out the biggest part of the equation and that is Amorim. I follow the US daily (everything they and Mark does) and the 2 emails from Pedro that have followed Amorims career extensively made it perfectly clear why Rashford now is out in the cold. Ask Mark if he can send them to you as they are very informative and in depth. To avoid a essay: Rashford doesn't fit Amorims 3-4-3 as he can't be that type of striker and he is also useless behind the striker (there is also not a defensive gene in him) Amorim demands 100% dedication and there is no slack of any sorts in season. He either supports you or kicks you out the door. This is a new Sir Alex. Absolutely ruthless as it should be in a professional setting. human feelings doesn't belong in professional settings like these nor should they in his philosophy. Rashford is a sacrificial lamb by necessity due to this, his off pitch life in season, how his entourage/agent/agency have behaved and adviced him aso aso aso. As mentioned I could write a essay but I'll stop here. Talk to Mark because he can narrow it down to a short story
Curious to know what doing this quietly would be? Just play him and allow him to not meet the standard until hes sold? Benching or excluding anyone at a club the size of United is always public
As you’re a non Manchester United fan, I don’t think you see this properly. When you see a decent young player who came up. Played under multiple managers. Never delivered. Signed contract after contract. Never gave it all in the field year after year. Ten Hag played him even when we was dropping stinkers and giving a 20% effort. You feel disappointed and feel what is he doing out there. And why isn’t he forcing a move away if he doesn’t want this. He needed to go ages ago.
How many chances has he had though? Compare his output to Diaz, to salah to saka to martinelli, any winger or centre forward....how many chances and how long do you give?
its funny to me that the defence for rashford is never based on his recent form (not talking about u specifically here loz), its always about non-footballing matters and how we should ultimately feel sorry for him. he's had his chance, many many times and he cant be bothered to take it
It's really not this complicated. He didn't turn out to be as good as some people thought or hoped he would be and he doesn't have the work ethic or mentality to be a top level player.
From an individual perspective Im sure Amorim or anyone else think it’s ideal but from a group and club perspective it is necessary. The Rashfors issue is much larger than Rashford himself, for better or worse he’s representing so much more so he ”needs” to be made an example of. The approach reminda me alpt Artetas adjustment of player/team/club relations. Utd havenn’t been a team in for ever
i wish i had Rashford's problems. He must be used to this very much, this is not a shock. He was not in even in the euros. He just reached the stage in his career what others reach at 32-33.
Completely agree w you. There are serious downsides to this. Especially as rashford is not a bad person or footballer - he’s clearly struggling. I see players like Casemiro or Antony as much bigger gold diggers. Rashie is one of our own (and gave Boris a bloody nose.) I wish arteta would take him. Everybody in the world deserves a second chance. You do have to take it tho.
I think Rashford has to leave for his own sake, and the fact that no one around him is willing to say that is really sad. It's clear that bouncing back from poor form is getting harder and harder for him, and I think his dynamic with the club has stagnated. He needs a fresh start, and as a fan I'd much rather see him go off and do well elsewhere rather than waiting for him to have a few good games in a row here.
The thing is he's just nowhere near consistent enough, or arguably not as good as the media hype makes him out to be. Showed lots of promise when he was younger, but has only had isolated moments of good form. He's also not that guy when heada are down, everyone has their own personality but he oozes negativity and bad teamsmanship. Looks disinterested and plays on his reputation rather than his actual output. He's had one or two good seasons, no more.
Yes, the Glazers kind of hampered Rashford’s development, but then again they ran the club into the ground. Now he has the chance to redeem himself and doesn’t take advantage of this opportunity then that’s on him. He appears to take no responsibility for his poor performances or his attitude.
I don't see how it's as brave as they make out - scapegoating a player (justifiably or not) is the oldest trick in the book for a team (or manager) hoping to 'turn a corner'. If its true that his problems are with his entourage, not him personally, then the fiduciary responsibility of the club is to deal with that and separate him from that entourage, not just kick him out, losing tens of millions in the process.
We did it publicly because it says "if you mess around your done and you have no power here, we are united and we have money we will move on without you" The reports say we are broke but somehow we always spend 200 million 😅. They have smashed player power to dust with one single move ( sancho and ronaldo before) this feels different. Hes one of uniteds own and has been told. Youve been out of line too long. Get gone.
I think of course there’s the human side, but as a club we can’t act out of pity or regret. Moving him could have postitive impacts on the club culture. I believe he could turn his career around, but I don’t think he will. He’s never seemed to have that sense of agency that he’s in control of his performances and just seemed victim to the ups and downs of the club. Of course personal issues can sap your belief, but during a rebuild it’s so important to believe in what your doing and he seems unable to
He was given too much too young! And I think he doesn’t know how to deal with it. The club are as much to blame for giving him a stupidly high contract in the first place!
I think the problem with Rashford is quite clear. He's very talented, but that talent is limited to very few attributes and his football basics area severely lacking. He came into the first team as a replacement for a youth team striker after all first team options were out injured and scored some spectacular goals and shot to stardom. But the truth is, he simply wasn't ready to play first team football. His football IQ is stunningly low. He was cast in the team as the goalscorer, and no doubt, when in form, he scored absolute bangers. But you can't score in every game, and his lack of contribution to the team without goals really stands out for us utd fans. I remember Cavani and CR7 absolutely losing their shit with his decision-making in the final 3rd going for a spectacular worldie goal when they were wide open and could be found with a simple pass for a tap in or a better chance of scoring. His lack of effort may stem from the fact that he's just too overwhelmed by the system, the roles he has to play in and out of possession and in different phases of build up/pressing/defending. He's never really developed beyond the counter attacking pacey winger who runs in behind a high line onto a through ball, cuts inside, and scores, apart from the odd flash here and there. It's sad really, because I have seen him try really hard to put effort in on the pitch and run hard to shut the critics up... but I just think he's not cut out for it anymore.. he needs to find a way back into Amorim's team by finding a role in the system that he can learn, play, and excel at. It's no longer good enough to score the occasional banger. It's about 90 minutes of collective effort, in sync with the rest of the team, that's how we play, that's how we win. If you're not willing or capable of playing that way it's over for you.
There's no way United were going go get some bid from a suitor based on his performances alone, it needed a proper ignition. At this point Rashford has had the cold water treatment and maybe, just maybe this is his moment to kick back into some sort of form. I don't think it's going to happen as quite frankly I don't think he's good enough. Rashford had an amazing 4 months but his overall United career has ever really been of the standard of a top level premier league club. He has a few key attributes but he has never been a canny player and isn't particularly skillful.
As a United fan it’s always interesting to hear your takes as a Liverpool fan. I have never really liked Rashford and I could never pin point why. Also just wanted to say I don’t know how you do it, whether it’s the use of body language, the type of language you are using or the use of the fantastic lens but you are extremely captivating. Keep up the good work mate
I don't understand why you felt the need to point to racism regarding Rashford. I'm pretty sure it's not the reason he isn't being picked in the squad. Maybe that one guy in the world doesn't want him at their club for that reason. But I imagine the number one reason on everybody else's list is his attitude, recent playing history and wage expectations.
He's 27, and had one truly outstanding season in what? 9/10? If he wasnt English, he wouldnt be on £300k. If then you mess about with training under a new manager, well you've got a reckoning coming professionally
I think a big problem is that marcus has been given many chances and blows hot or cold. when you earn that amount of money, you can't be dropping terrible performances for months at a time. as a united fan, it annoys me the way the online fanbase defend him so much and keep going "his ceiling is so high" + "There's a player there" but he rarely reaches anywhere near the level that he is toted to be. The consistency is not there at all and for that amount of money that he is earning (I could take 1 week of his salary and could be set for life and never have to worry about money again) you would expect him to at least be giving decent performances on a regular basis whereas he never performs well consistently. Goldbridge said it best "we're paying him Mbappe money but we are getting Saint-Maximin levels of performances"
Why am I suddenly in a late 90's/early 2000's skateboard video. Not complaining but it was a blast from the past lol. As for why do this publicly? It's impossible not to. Everything Man United is amplified to the Nth degree. Look at how many videos there will on RUclips about this subject, how many tweets, how many comments... Truth is his mental game isn't strong enough. He is talented and has a good heart but sentiment can only get you so far in a sport which is about winning. I think the vast majority of United fans will wish him the best wherever he goes and thank him for his time at the club but we can also know that he had so many chances and so much time to show a different side but it just hasn't happened, it's been the same thing week in, week out. The 'what-ifs' have gone on for long enough.
I feel no sympathy for him. He's a grown man, if he can't pick the right people around him by now, that's on him. He steals a living week in,week out and lives off his opportunistic food drive during COVID. He's a one dimensional player and now he's losing his pace he has nothing. I hope he retires soon because I've grown to hate everything he stands for .
When does Rashford take responsibility for his actions when everyone is making excuses for him, is it the clubs fault for him to suddenly forget how to track back or press, is it the clubs fault when he calls in sick after actually being out on a bender. This is why the Gen Z generation struggles in the real world coz everyone seems to covering for them @ 27 u r pretty old for a footballer. The clubs management like anyother corporation isnt going to pay u to sulk around bringing ur confusions and bad energy. I am actually tired of the qn " Will this manager bring the best out of Rashford" it should will Rashford ever show the best he can be in whoever's team. Let him be sold 1st as an example that we dont have untouchables 2nd that to play for utd uve got to give ur best for the shirt. Compare the last Occupant of the No. 10 shirt and the guy wearing it now..its actually a joke that he is still at the club
They did this publicly to show that no player is bigger than the club.
Would be great to finally end player power at the club.

Learning how to cross would be a great place to start. I know he can score but we have a centre forward who was starved of service last year.

He needs a fresh start, and as a fan I'd much rather see him go off and do well elsewhere rather than waiting for him to have a few good games in a row here.
Cool background Sir 👌🏽
It's Time To Go
I don't see how it's as brave as they make out - scapegoating a player (justifiably or not) is the oldest trick in the book for a team (or manager) hoping to 'turn a corner'. If its true that his problems are with his entourage, not him personally, then the fiduciary responsibility of the club is to deal with that and separate him from that entourage, not just kick him out, losing tens of millions in the process.
Video format is very cool with the fisheye
We did it publicly because it says "if you mess around your done and you have no power here, we are united and we have money we will move on without you"
The reports say we are broke but somehow we always spend 200 million 😅.
They have smashed player power to dust with one single move ( sancho and ronaldo before) this feels different. Hes one of uniteds own and has been told. Youve been out of line too long. Get gone.
Why is loz trapped in a mid 2000s music video
I was like "Is Laurence doing a YT video abt 2024 Liverpool from 1998???"
PSG never wanted Rashford 😂 it was his own PR team that spread the news.
Forget the football, he’s not the man you think he is. You must know this you are well connected.
I like the camera setup
I think of course there’s the human side, but as a club we can’t act out of pity or regret. Moving him could have postitive impacts on the club culture. I believe he could turn his career around, but I don’t think he will.
He’s never seemed to have that sense of agency that he’s in control of his performances and just seemed victim to the ups and downs of the club. Of course personal issues can sap your belief, but during a rebuild it’s so important to believe in what your doing and he seems unable to
New set is great mate.
He was given too much too young! And I think he doesn’t know how to deal with it. The club are as much to blame for giving him a stupidly high contract in the first place!
Loz, your definition of sin comes from the Old Testament Hebrew word for it which is “khata”. Which means to miss the goal or to fail
ETH did the same publicly for Sancho and Ronaldo , whats different ?
Amorim has control.
@@laurencemckenna We said the same about EtH too. Will this apply to Amorim too?
There's no way United were going go get some bid from a suitor based on his performances alone, it needed a proper ignition.
At this point Rashford has had the cold water treatment and maybe, just maybe this is his moment to kick back into some sort of form. I don't think it's going to happen as quite frankly I don't think he's good enough.
Rashford had an amazing 4 months but his overall United career has ever really been of the standard of a top level premier league club. He has a few key attributes but he has never been a canny player and isn't particularly skillful.
love the fisheye
Loving the new jamiroquai music video style video setup
Looks like 90s music video
As a United fan it’s always interesting to hear your takes as a Liverpool fan. I have never really liked Rashford and I could never pin point why.
Also just wanted to say I don’t know how you do it, whether it’s the use of body language, the type of language you are using or the use of the fantastic lens but you are extremely captivating. Keep up the good work mate
Anorim has cajones
Are you filming a Jamiroquai music video after this? 😂
Love the video, don't love the lens.
Damn i felt like i was trippin here
He doesn’t perform. No one is going to pamper him for not performing after an extended period.
Bro doing football commentary content that specifically appeals to Jamiroquai fans. 😂
Obligatory wooo for the mention of my two teams: United and the Knicks 😂❤
Best for everyone
He's 27, and had one truly outstanding season in what? 9/10? If he wasnt English, he wouldnt be on £300k. If then you mess about with training under a new manager, well you've got a reckoning coming professionally
The backdrop is offensive
Rashford is crap lazy poor mentality.
Get him gone.
Oh another Sancho situation...have we been here before?
thought this was an early noughties music video
Surely he ends up at Spurs. Surely
Mate, you support Liverpool, just enjoy your season and leave our club alone.
Fisheye is fire
Thank you!
Who is leas??? Am I spelling it right?
This guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about
I hate when people speak in the 3rd person but here...it works...
As a utd fan this entire video is absolute Garbage 🗑️. In case you don't know apparently Rashford is a victim...
About time, a truly useless clown. I said we should have sold him when he did HALF a good season a few years ago, now we won't get anything.
Terrible decision, I will stop supporting United if this is true.
Playing to the Man United fans….
And what of it?
@ You are bumming from Man United fans because you can’t get support from your own teams fans… You have the same character as Kyle Walker.
Busta rhymes
