WHY I DUMPED MY 2001 PORSCHE 996 PROJECT CAR

After only a short stint in the garage I decided to sell my 2001 Porsche 996 project car. I took the car to my local mechanic for a post purchase inspection and everything that was wrong was pretty much what I expected, almost $5,000 worth of repairs were needed. However...the biggest issue was a ticking noise that sounded like it was coming from the pistons. The advice was drive it to see if it cleared up or got better. The upside is I have a cheap 996 911, the downside is the engine needs to be split open or even worse needs to be replaced. When it was all said and done I was able to get out for a small profit and hopefully found a new home where someone would address the issue.
