Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC since November 23rd, 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "The Doctor", an extraterrestrial being, appearing to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue British metropolitan police box, which was a common sight in Britain in the 1960’s when the series first aired. Accompanied by a number of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes like the Daleks and Cybermen while working to save civilisations and save people in need.
Beginning with William Hartnell, over fifteen actors have headlined the series as the Doctor. The transition from one actor to another is written into the plot of the show with the concept of regeneration into a new incarnation and body, a plot device in which a Timelord "transforms" into a new body when the current one is too badly harmed to heal normally. The recent regeneration as seen in The Giggle was the Controversial Bigeneration from David Tenannt to Ncuti Gatwa.
A series of special episodes of the British Sci-Fi TV programme Dr Who recently aired to celebrate the 60th anniversary. The episodes are written by Russell T Davies, and were broadcast on BBC One in November to December 2023, preceding the following series fourteen otherwise known as season one. David Tennant appeared as the Fourteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa took over as the Fifteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins reprised their roles of Donna and Sylvia Noble. The three specials are directed by Rachel Talalay, Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button. Filming moved from Roath Lock Studios to Bad Wolf Studios once Bad Wolf became a co-producer of the series. Disney has partnered with the BBC and Doctor Who to have Dr Who stream on Disney’s platform, Disney Plus. Disney+ will allow people from many different countries to watch Doctor Who at the same time as the UK. Disney have also given Doctor Who a larger budget meaning the episodes will have better quality and Doctor Who’s CGI/visual effects will be better than ever.
Yasmin Finney joined the cast for the anniversary, to portray a character named Rose. Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and Karl Collins are also set to return as Wilfred Mott, Sylvia Noble and Shaun Temple. Jemma Redgrave is also returning to her role as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart in Series 14, after her appearance in The Power Of The Doctor as the head of UNIT. Ruth Madely also appears in the 60th anniversary as a new scientific advisor, Shirley Bingham. Bonnie Lanford returned as Melany Bush, Mel Bush continues to appear throughout the next season as well. Russell T Davies announced that Neil Patrick Harris would be joining the cast, playing The Celestial Toymaker.
Ncuti Gatwa had previously been announced as Jodie Whittaker's successor after David Tennant reprises his role as the doctor in the 60th anniversary specials as the programme's lead, and many reports stated he would play the Fourteenth Doctor and that Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor would regenerate into an incarnation portrayed by Gatwa. Upon Jodie Whittaker's final appearance as the character in The Power Of The Doctor, she instead regenerated into a form similar to the Tenth Doctor. This character, portrayed by Tennant, was confirmed to be the Fourteenth Doctor, with later clarification that Ncuti Gatwa would actually portray the Fifteenth Doctor. Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th doctor has also had his companion announced as Millie Gibson playing Ruby Sunday live on Children In Need. Her first proper appearance in Dr Who was in the first Christmas special since Twice Upon a Time in 2017. This episode focussed on Ruby and her family including Cherry Sunday and Carla Sunday. It also featured Goblins and a Goblin ship including Susan Twist as also seen in Wild Blue Yonder. The episode was called The Church on Ruby Road. Miss Flood, as played by Anita Dobson, is a mysterious character who broke the fourth wall at the end of the Xmas Special when Ruby Sunday first entered the TARDIS with the Fifthteenth Doctor Ncuti Gatwa. She is seen to also appear in season 2 / series 15 and is rumoured to be a renegade Timelord such as The Rani or even The Master.

Seeing the timelord running around like a happy child reunited with his best and long term friend was the highlight .

This Tardis is amazing! Capaldi’s is still my favourite but this has to be my second favourite. It’s such a brilliant mix between the classic and modern interiors

I would have loved the roundels to be stagnated like on the classic interiors rather than in a grid, but I see why they did it (like tennant's 1st interior) and it still looks fabulous.
I think it works the way it does now because it changes colour so frequently imo

I kept looking at the tardis interior and I said this is going to be the next console room for the doctor and there is no stairs just ramps now
They've made it ramps so it's wheelchair friendly
I like the console. It looks perfect. But the rest of the interior is too big. I’m getting rounded overload. I do like the confirmation that the TARDIS is more of a tea person though.
Yeah I’m not crazy about it either. It just lacks character and personality. The changing lights are cool but it could be better.
This is exactly how I feel. It looks too sterile and empty, and has very little distinct details to differentiate the various levels.

Because I was pretty young when I watched the original episodes with them, so I don't remember my reaction, I don't remember being happy, but I remember all the plot
So basically, I will never get that same reaction again
That kept on happening until the 13th doctors last episode

That's very true and something I didn't think of, maybe the TARDIS is going through an emo phase
By the way how you spill a cup of coffee onto the computer and get sacked it seam for fare if you spill it on the most powerful ship in the universe.
even though I'm exited for this TARDIS, I'm slightly annoyed about the development on it. Not on how long it takes, he can take the time he wants to develop it, I'm talking about on the parts he's developing on, like the last two updates were just more entrance music and slightly more detailed lightbulb for the exterior. Rather unnecessary details that he could add in the end, after developing things that are more necessary, such as the monitor/scanner, the light bulbs on the time rotor, the bits and bobs on the console, etc etc.
I mean it all just depends on how much time is available to him and things but yeah it has been quite a while, I’m just glad that he’s made it public if it’s going to take this long anyway we might as well have access to the wip version

perfect sonic, perfect tardis, perfect character writing, perfect plot writing, rtd is ALREADY doing a monumentally better job than chibnall ever could. I feel that this console truly embodies the new era feeling. Its got roundels but they're modern roundels rather than hanging on to the classics, its got a class esque but mainly modern style console, essentially everything in here was made in reference to the classic but is meant to be more invokative of modernity. I just CANT WAIT for people to actually fully model one into something like for Gmod for us to explore ourselves.

The "message" was so frickin forced and shoved down the audience's face It made me physically cringe.
There are some parts where I think that but it really isn't as bad as Chibnall's messages from his episodes with the doctor literally talking like a 5 year olds teacher
