Wouldn't call it a non-homage watch. It still very much looks like a Rolex batman....but whatever. Steinharts are good watched for a fair price so who cares.
It's unique enough to not necessarily be a GMT Master clone. I love how it doesn't have the magnifier, the hands are simple, and the date is at a more unique location. Mine should arrive tomorrow! Should give my Seamaster a run for its money on lume and water resistance 😁
I think this one is the Sellita. You can tell by the rotor. I can see the Sellita logo when you zoom in under the balance too. Nice review! Danke sehr!
Reviewers tie themselves in knots trying to distinguish levels of design copying in homage watches. Most dive watches, including premium one are highly derivative. Love the value of Steinharts and I don’t care how closely they resemble watches- that resemble other watches.
Ok baught this watch. At first kinda "stunned" by it's little size......I usually had 42 and 43mm diver's. But now after a few day and getting used to it's size.....damn I love it. It's really elegant and the case is really thin for a 500m diver. I was planning to get a jubilee bracelet but now that I have it I think I'll stick with the "oyster" bracelet to keep this sporty touch. Damn the watch is gorgeous. To me it's a keeper. it's sporty, it's elegant, it feels premium, well finished, it has GMT complication, it's accurate (mine is +1/+2sec per day) and a massive 500m wr. And last but not least : it is super legible.
Hi there, really good review! Not to long and said what needed to be said. I have just ordered the 42mm titanium version of this and am excited to receive it in a few days time, it will compliment my Glycine base 22 Mystery which I love. I had no problem at all understanding you at all as your accent is not too strong. Thank you for taking the time to make this review. I have liked and I have subscribed. Danke!
Best hands ever. So legible. That's why I also love my marine master and my seastar....... same type of hands. It's super legible even in really low low light. I think I'll buy it with the jubilee bracelet.
Have you tried the 42? Luckily I live pretty close to Aachen, so I got to compare both the 39 and 42 on my wrist before buying. I didn't think the 42 would fit me (little over 17cm wrist), but it looks and feels just fine.
@@watchyouwant1617 Yeah.. well... spent way too much money there today. Vintage 39 GMT on a Jubilee. Friggin beautiful, so I couldn't resist. :) At least he only charged me 40 extra for the bracelet (Jubilee for Oyster exchange). If you ever order another Steinhart, I'd try a 42 if I were you (you can always send it back). Your wrist seems slightly larger than mine, so you should be fine. Servus und ein schönes Wochenende. :)
BTW: the movement in my model is quiet good regulated and is only 3 seconds slow per day. Of course, I’ve forgot the lume shot. The lume (bezel, indices and hands) is really good and long lasting. I’ll upload a lume video ASAP.
Could you also show how to adjust GMT hand? I know it moves along with hour hand when its adjusted. Isn't it inconvienent? I am going to buy it soon as my first GMT watch
I like the looks. Although I think the hands are too broad for the small 39mm version. I think the 42mm is much better proportioned. However i do like the more shiney look of stainless on the 39mm instead of the titanium on 42mm. Either way, enjoy! Steinhart makes great watchs. Own multiple of them and contemplating the black/blue gmt. But after seeing this video I realise I have to go with the 42mm. The broad hands om the 39mm bother me. Anyhoeee... Thanks for sharing. Great video.
The Marc & Sons is also an interesting watch. I also bought it in summer last year but returned it within one day. The reasons were (i) the bracelet which didn’t feel as solid as the Steinhart bracelets to me (also didn’t like the flimsy screws, (ii) the execution of the indices (they were well executed but I didn’t like that the dial is put on „over the indices“ and (iii) the price (a little too high compared to Steinhart). Apart from that it’s an interesting watch from an interesting company with good customer support. Wish you a lot of fun with the GMT. All the best!
Sorry for bashing Davosa a little bit too hard. I had both, Davosa and Steinhart, and this is just how I feel about these watches. Maybe I should get another Davosa and compare them side by side. Thank you for your comment and for subscribing!
Very good point. Spoiler: I’ve sold it but not because of the 22 but because of the fact, that I consolidated my collection once again (yes, I’m a watch addict😂)
I own the watch and can say it is an excellent time piece. Amazing features, +/- 2.5 sec. End of story. Only real similarity to Rolex is bezel color, and that Steinhart glossy bezel is a beauty to look at! But a real bear to turn. The Steinhart is so easy to read the time with the super white markers and black dial. I could never purchase any watch with mercedes hands. That to me is the biggest copy cat of all, and if you add the cyclops, forget about it! I'm just not a fan of those hands, even on a Rolex.
Thank you! The thing with anti reflective coating on the outside is, that the coating can get scratches (not the crystal) that you might see under direct light. This is the case with my Fortis Marinemaster. I’ll make a video on that soon!
@el tunssi: if it has anti-reflective coating on the outside, yes. But if I’m looking at it, it doesn’t seem like that’s the case. The Fortis has blue anti-reflect live coating on the outside, which is probably more delicate when it comes to scratches. At least you’ll see it easier. Time will tell. I’ll feature it on one of the next videos
too much color blue white there , strange hands , strange writing , date at six o’clock? See though back case looks like they tried every trick to add value , looks like toy

This is my next Steinhart to add to the collection! I just bought the Ocean 39 pink gold, fantastic watches from Steinhart!! Gunter is a great guy.
Finally a non-homage watch from Steinhart! I am currently saving up for this piece. What a beauty!!!!!
Definitely a nice piece!
Could have departed farther from the homage stigma if it had coin edge bezel rather than the oyster...
Wouldn't call it a non-homage watch.
It still very much looks like a Rolex batman....but whatever. Steinharts are good watched for a fair price so who cares.
Great review. I have had this watch for about 6 months and I love it.
They knocked it out of the park on this one... beautiful and I already know how it will fit as I have the 39 green ceramic submariner homage one

You‘ve nailed it!
Great review, you did a good job focusing on the watch. No dinosaurs or cursing puppets like the other watch channels.
Thank you! I try to avoid dinosaurs, coffee cups and old camera equipment in my videos. In my opinion the focus should be on the watch itself.
Excellent review. I have seen another RUclipsr put the watch on the Steinhart Jubilee style bracelet and it looks great. Cheers.
That is what I've done with mine, and I love how it looks on this bracelet!
I have an 8.25" wrist and I opted for the 39. I don't think it's too small. My bezel is super stiff.

Great review, thanks. I've just ordered the ocean 1 - 42mm black ceramic. Can't wait.
Very nice watch.Steinhart have enough of their own design features to make it interesting and not just a direct homage to the Batman.

I'm new in watch shopping ..in a shop directly to buy watch do u pay taxes? How much is this watch in Aachen?
Is it possible to try them physically? Do they have a store? Where is it?

Quickset date. No „true“ gmt

I been into dive watches since ther 90's... People use to ask why I bought a GMT and Submariner over a Presidential lol
Because the Presidential looks like a women's watch
I just got the Marc & Sons GMT in 41mm. While doing research, I found it even more compelling than the Steinhart. What do you think?
The Marc & Sons is also an interesting watch. I also bought it in summer last year but returned it within one day. I‘m sorry but I didn’t. Nevertheless it’s a great watch.
I was just curious. I've read that they are very similar when it comes to reliability and performance.
Does anyone know where I can still find this one??? desperate :(
Sold out but now available as a titanium version on Steinhart‘s website. Otherwise: EBay etc.

Too bad they don’t make this anymore in steel

Where is the copy ?
The only thing copied is the fact that it is a watch.
