This just builds more anxiety for going to hair salons.

I have a similar situation as yours unfortunately in which me and my Mom went to a saloon and went to cut my hair against my wishes. The reason I was in the saloon was at first thought was for my brother's hair. Though that wasn't a case all of my hair is now half an inch, school is on August 14!

Grew out my hair for 3 months bc my dad ruined it. I decided to get my sides done (I could’ve don’t mean it myself but I needed a layer). I showed them a photo of what I want. Mind you, I’m growing out my hair including the back, asian mullet, bc I wanted to try a new haircut. Told them and they said ok. After they cut my hair, I saw that they didn’t cut the side shorter than it needed. I could’ve went with it, but I wanted my side short so I ask if they can cut it shorter, then they proceed to say it’ll be a mullet. Well yeah, did you not see the picture I showed you??? Anyways, they went to it, and I can’t see myself in the reflection bc the mirror is behind me. Then they show my hair... and they decided to cut 2+ inches of my hair... including my back hair. In fact, the top back hair that supposed to be long was shorter than the rest of my top hair. Now my hair is above my eyebrow and now I’m hoping for my hair to grow in the span of 2 months til I go to college as a frashman... yay
I also asked for a similar hairstyle and the lady was like 70...and said "oh you want a glorified mullet?? Okay" and I was like "no, not a mullet I just want disconnect layers really" and showed her my refrence pics and SHE GAVE ME A FULL ON MULLET I look so hideous and everyone at work has been giving me weird looks. I'm so crushed because I spent a 2 year hair growth journey and now I'm back to square one :c
This is almost exactly what happened to me and she cut it so short it's almost to the scalp and the *long* parts at the sides are above my ears and go higher up as it gets further back and the back of it is so short but then the few hairs at the very base of my neck are long?? Idk what the hell she was thinking I specifically said to her I want to keep the back pretty long and go a little shorter at the sides. I can't even tuck it behind my ears anymore and it just looks like a Karen pixie cut or something, it's fucking hideous and I'm gonna have to wait so long for it to grow out again to what I had it at
