I mean it is possible arccording to Zelda Lore that he can return. In the Child Timeline he was killed in Four Swords Adventures and in the Adult Timeline the World is flooded and so it's not really possible that he will return...BUT...in tue Downfall Timeline he is still sealed in the Four Sword and can somehow be returning and became free from his prison. Also it will be perfect for this timeline because of the Grafics. They can use the Links Awakening Remake Grafic.

So much apparently occurs between Skyward Sword and Minish Cap, you've got the founding of Hyrule, the start of the Royal Family, the Interloper War from Twilight Princess, the sealing of the Triforce in the Sacred Realm, the apparent extinction of the Mogma, the Picori giving the Light Force to Hyrule, the Hero of Men legend, and Vaati studying under Ezlo

What if the Vaati that comes after his death is a botched rebirth of sorts. It's shown that if Ganon is resurrected wrong he'll mentally break, so what if Vaati had a failsafe just in case? A slapdash resurrection spell that didn't quite work right. It would explain his inability to remember his original plan but still remember one thing that was necessary to it, a beautiful girl. He doesn't remember why he needs one, but he does remember that he does. I get the feeling that if Four Swords Zelda looked like Minish Cap Zelda he would have jogged his memory a bit better, but that's just my take on it.

There is a popular theory based on this. Essentially, because vaati is slain in the minish cap, he cannot come back. So there are no more four swords games after minish cap on the timeline in this case. But, where does four swords go? Vaati is alive in that game, so somehow vaati succeeded instead of being defeated by link. This means that the minish cap is where the "downfall" timeline branches off, headed by the two four swords games.

    • @BlazingShadowSword
      @BlazingShadowSword 2 года назад +27

      @@isaacbunsen5833 Sorry this is long.
The only problem I have with that is that it ignores that death is never really final in the games. How many times has Ganon/Ganondorf truly died? Twice, and it took the Hero of Twilight, the physically strongest hero, and the Hero of Winds, the one who plunged the Master Sword into his skull when in Gerudo form, to do it, even then Ganondorf went through a lot of hell to get him to those states. I don't think the forces of evil have the ability to just shove off this mortal coil, it takes a hell of a lot to finally off them. Wind Waker Ganondorf was still talking while he was a makeshift unicorn! I'm ignoring Malladus, Bellum and Majora because they haven't been shown to resurrect, but Vaati, Ganondorf/Ganon, and Demise have all shown a sort of resistance to permanent death.
Ganondorf: Look at all the "killing blows" he's suffered, dead, but with the right magic he can be brought back. The only time this didn't happen was Wind Waker and Twilight Princess and I'm certain Wind Waker Ganondorf is only that way because his minions can't swim.
Demise: in his avocado form took a wish from the full Triforce, and his true form, a hero going to the past to fight him when he's just been returned to his true form, and even then he needed to sit in timeout in the Master Sword for who knows how long.
Vaati: He is defeated in 3 forms before he is supposedly killed, but then he shows up again. It takes being killed by the last known wielder of the four sword to finally end him.
All this to say that them early big bads were a different breed. Malladus and Bellum and even Majora died pretty easily compared to the other 3.

The only time Nintendo developed a game involving Vaati without Capcom's involvement was Four Swords Adventure, which saw Vaati destroyed and replaced by Ganon as the primary antagonist by the end.

Definitely would love to see Vaati's return in a Zelda game. Personally, Ganon's turn to Calamity Ganon opens such a huge door. Sure, Nintendo can return Vaati with his usual plan to kidnap maidens and Zelda, but it can be so much more. Who says he hasn't twisted further during his incarceration during the downfall and adult timeline? What if once freed, he learns about the Divine Beasts and the Guardians? Though not as powerful as Ganon, the type of things Vaati could do with that technology given his dark magic is endless. I think it's an idea Nintendo should dabble on if they're not going to return the Minish, which they should. I don't know, these are just some thoughts.🤗

Even though, like you said, it's unlikely Vaati spawned from Demise's curse: it would open the door for villain's other than Ganondorf to rise to power but play the same familiar notes.
Maybe during BotW2, Link kills zombie/lich Ganondorf, thus breaking the curse on the Gerudo man... but Demise's curse would still exist. It finds a new host with darkness in their heart and takes them as it's new form, creating a new age Ganondorf. This new villain could be Rito or Zora, Goron or, you guessed it, Minish. Whatever they start out as, they can make their final desperate form be that of a raging boar to seal the connection between the new villain and The Calamity.
BotW I always felt was a clean soft reboot of sorts for the Zelda Franchise. They have the chance to cherry-pick everything they've ever made and make it fit into long-running narrative instead of continuing to work backwards and try to fit everything together after the fact into a timeline. Demise's curse affecting not just the one Gerudo Male would open up opportunities to put the side-races into the spotlight or even invent new races that just left Hyrule completely after the Calamity and returned after it's defeat.... say... perhaps... the Minish.

That makes the most sense to me too and I really like the notion that Demise’s curse is not just locked onto Ganon/Ganondorf like we thought, but instead spreads it’s evil tendrils in numerous ways at once. And if u think about it, there doesn’t seem to be any normal evil in the Zelda universe like there is in real life. Instead, every occurrence of evil has some supernatural origin to it, possibly all leading back to Demise! Or maybe there could be other primordial demons like him causing trouble throughout time and space.

Years of study set his mind and heart at ease and he set about to share his work through a medium that transcended time and space. The SP makes all links homogonized aside from their color so swapping links isn't very common while formations and just having the green link do stuff while the other links follow is very common. I'd even say this hurts the game on MP because there's no real need for proper cooperation 90% of the time

While I haven't played Minish Cap, I would love to see a modern take on Vaati as he's the only Zelda villain i can think of that not only has no connection to Ganon, but also isn't simply a monster running on instinct like the villains from Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass. He's his own man and that's interesting, I'd love to see him come back and have an interaction with Ganon. Imagine two powerful villains from the series coming into conflict, typically its only one villain (Ganon/Demise) and a lackey, imagine two villains vying for control of Hyrule/Triforce/Lightforce and fighting each other as well as you. Different factions of monsters which in an open world Zelda, could fight each other if they meet in the overworld (offering new strategies in the game) and you could even potentially redeem Vaati since he's very likely not going to defeat Ganon who's the ultimate evil of Hyrule so maybe he could have a temporary alliance with Link and/or Zelda and ultimately give his life to weaken Ganon, maybe as an unintended payback to Ganon using him as a pawn in another timeline. Just the fact that he's an entirely unique villain from Ganon, as most others are lackeys of Ganon, gives him so much potential for a unique story and I'd love to see that.
Also, after mentioning the cap that grants wishes and it being corrupted by a wish, turning the wearer into a powerful, deranged magic user, it makes me think of the Ice King from Adventure Time. His crown corrupted him, making him insane and it was originally a powerful magical object meant to grant wishes but an ill thought wish corrupts it and only at the end of its series does it revert back to its original state, restoring the land ravaged by evil. Find that an interesting comparison, especially with both Vaati and Simon forgetting their former lives and being obsessed with capturing beautiful princesses.

I was obsessed with Vaati all throughout school, still like him he was great villain imo.
(The hat was called the Wishing Cap btw.)
Also, the proper name for the Picori by the race themselves is Minish, it’s explained by Ezlo shortly after you meet him in-game.
I played Minish Cap, Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures and read their manuals. Vaati appeared four times. (We just only get to experience three of those appearances in the games he’s in.)
In the beginning of FS on GBA Zelda talks about him appearing before, but in the manual for FS it explains that he suddenly appeared and kidnapped any beautiful girls that caught his fancy but was then defeated and sealed within the sword the boy who fought him wielded.
(He came back from the dead with no memory of his past life, somehow. I imagine someone resurrected him.)
That didn’t happen in MC, it happened a long time after MC’s events, as he was thought to be dead after his defeat in MC.
After FS he is sealed again, then centuries later FSA happens and gets banished to the Dark World.
I beat him plenty of times in FSA, he doesn’t explode, his body disappears the same way enemies or yourself do when you get transported to the dark world. Ganondorf then mocks Vaati, saying “That’s all there was to the wind mage?” before the player has to flee the collapsing Tower of Winds.
So he might not be dead in the child timeline and could return and is only sealed in the other timelines. Although…I doubt he could return in the Adult Timeline for what should be obvious reasons.
Hyrule being permanently washed away under the ocean by the wish upon the Triforce, you know, where the Four Sword he was sealed into, in the Four Sword Sanctuary, is located.
(Along with the Master Sword stuck in Ganondorf’s head also at the bottom of the ocean.)
Also the fact that he couldn’t actually free himself that last time he was seen in FSA, it was Link who broke the seal after being tricked by Ganon’s Shadow Link. He lost more of himself and his strength.
(Vaati is described in-game in Minish Cap as a Man, not a Boy. Many times and by the King himself when you rescue him. Vaati is an adult, don’t let his size and the art style fool you.)
Yes, Vaati is completely independent of Ganondorf/Demise. The two are not connected.

When we first saw Astor in the Age of Calamity trailer, I thought that was Vaati. Turned out to be a whole different character. It would be awesome to see Vaati return (maybe in Breath of The Wild 2) and see Demise return.

I would absolutely love to see Vaati return in a future Zelda game, for sure! He was such a unique and different villain from Ganon, and the entire concept of the Minish is such a fantastic one. They are my favourite race in the entire Zelda series, and I do wish that Nintendo would bring them back, even if it's just NPCs that run around in the game that you can see, but not really interact with.
Just having the details of them being there and having their little paths and homes in and around Hyrulian homes in towns and villages would be wonderful, though I'd rather be able to interact with them, shrink down again and talk to them, solve puzzles, and basically have elements of "The Minish Cap" be like side quests in a future Zelda game. Maybe even have a Minish type quest as part of the main story, like a town and a dungeon, ending with Vaati being the final boss. That would be a fantastic way to continue the Minish stories.
There's really a lot that Nintendo can do with the Minish and also another incarnation of Vaati, if they would just feel inclined to do so.

I am obsessed with the craft of writing. Day by day, I write and perceive as much good writing as possible. My conscience for writing I’d say is pretty decent.
I say this to add more power to the following statement:
Zeltik, your videos are so well-written. Fantastic video essays. Keep it up!

I loved this video I'd been wanting to know more about Vati so thanks for making it. I would love to see more Vati and more Ganondorf ouo I think there's still a lot of potential with Ganondorf. Have you seen/read Growing up Gerudo? It's a fan comic that humanizes Ganondorf and gives us a lot really juicy angst and drama from seeing Ganondorf resist and be an unwilling pawn of the curse with the added bonus of Link being his adopted son :>

It's kinda weird how two of the latest Zelda villains (Octavo and Astor) have looked and acted so similar to Vaati that you could just change their name to Vaati and hardly anyone would notice the difference.

I actually believe that Vaati was the first time we see Demise curse. Why? Because Demise said he was going to curse any decendant of the Hero and the Goddess. This Link and Zelda of course are decendants of them... so why wouldn't Vaati be part of this curse chasing on this decendants.
I would like to see Vaati again. He deserves a better ending rather than the one we saw in Four Swords Adventures.
And about the Four Sword and it sealing Ganon... I wonder if we are going to see what happened after that. Look that the Four Sword is powerful enough to seal the very Demon King... it would be nice to see how he broke free and weild the Four Sword again.

interesting thought but i dont think demises powers would effect the minish realm...
and wherever they came from. they didnt exist in hyrule. if i remember the lore correctly.
oh yes the mighty four sword is a very powerful sword... on par with the master sword more or less.
it has epic powers. seal away evil and break spells. time travel. of course split link into diff forms.
and each form has its four sword and same power. thats epic. something the master sword lacks.
i personally find it more badass then the master sword!! its basically a minish version
of master sword. also before it got upgraded into 4 sword the it looks kinda like the master sword!!
sad the 4 sword it has to be kept enshrined though and never used again. since ganon and vaati are sealed in.
its amazing the minish are so powerful race to make such a weapon. then also the light force...
which is like a triforce piece??. idk what it is but its powerful too. i wish nintendo would show
more interest and love to the minish and vaati.

As much as I love Ganon and his story, the villains that I love the most are non-ganon ones.
Vaati, Ghirahim, Malladus, Bellum, Yuga, Zant and Majora are compelling villains and I would LOVE to see Vaati again in another game!

I love Vaati as a character concept because rather than like divine choice/destiny, Vaati just decides he wants something and goes and gets it. Really wish he came back sometime. The fact he’s not even in Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition is a crime

really its odd that the three capcom designed zelda villains got original characters in their place (Veran=Cia, Onnox=Volga,Vaati=Wizzro ) I wonder if Nintendo didn't have full rights to their designs or something?

For the Adult Timeline: I like to think he was the creator of the Wind Waker baton or even better, he is inside the Wind Waker trapped. The fact that you can control the winds with it, he being referred to as the wind mage, and that he uses wind magic makes me believe that. Maybe he created it to use magic more appropriately kinda like Thor uses his hammer. Also, Zephos mentions that he was waiting for the next waker of the winds, maybe Vaati was the last one?
For the Downfall Timeline: If you consider the Alttp Gba port canon, then Vaati would be inside the Master Sword!
At the end of the Palace of the Four Swords, after defeating 4 Dark Links, the Four Sword fuses with the Master Sword, becoming one powerful sword.
Then the credits appear and you can see that bosses and Ganon are alive. Maybe Link did this first and then fought with each boss and finally Ganon.
So, basically, Vaati would be there, chilling with Fi.

I mean it is possible arccording to Zelda Lore.

I've always loved Vaati since I first played Minish Cap long ago, and I recently revisited and replayed it. It's still a wonderful game with a very different take on Hyrule that I love, but while I've played Four Swords and Adventures, it was always a little difficult to keep up with it (getting enough people to play together with) and understand the story fully, so I really appreciate it getting put into perspective!
It is very interesting that he seemed to have forgotten his original reasoning and origin when he came back after Minish Cap, and I agree with other commentors that perhaps it was some sort of botched ressurection, or in another thought, perhaps the darkness within him and his malice brought him back much akin to the malice that Ganon had in Breath of the Wild? He seeks no reason or ploy, only to do what he likes (Kidnapping maidens in FS/A; While Ganon in BotW only wishes to destroy).
It was also noteworthy that after his revival, Vaati resides himself in the Palace of the Winds...a location you go to in Minish Cap and was SUPPOSED to be the home for the Wind Tribe, but was since filled with monster's after Vaati broke the seal. The Wind Tribe only had a small handful of people then, and certainly not enough to keep a population going. And yet in Minish Cap, Vaati makes no mention to them NOR that he was the Sorcerer of Winds. Only that he was a POWERFUL sorcerer...He doesn't even throw any wind-like attacks at you during the game, mostly energy/electricity or darkness.
So what what turned him into becoming 'The Wind Sorcerer'? I can obviously connect that the Palace of the Winds would inevitably become forgotten as the Wind Tribe likely died out, but other than it being difficult to reach for most people, why use that as his base if he's so powerful?
All in all, great video, and truthfully I almost hope they bring him into some version of Hyrule Warriors. Given that HW:AoC takes place in a different timeline/world, it would be cool to see Vaati make an appearance, maybe even as part of the Zonai tribe? I think it would suit his traits and abilities well, be he a good guy or a bad guy...and while there's Zonai ruins all over BotW's Hyrule, they're more heavily seen in the Faron region...and seemed to be heavily influenced by the Wind Dragon Farosh perhaps? They could definitely connect a version of him into HW:AoC, but I do hope he returns to other main games in the series as well!
