    Dear PLO Professor,
    Every episode you put out is a gem!
    In the home games I go to we play 1 or 2 PLO hands every orbit to spice up the game.
    The gamblers love it.
    I'm a winning player in nlhm in 5-10 but every time I decided to play these PLO hands I crushed and burned, I lost stacks.
    My experiences with this game was bad.
    The last time I wrote you I started training in the WSOP app and got confident with your technics and teaching.
    After few live games I played PLO, I am using these hands as a tool to crush the table.
    I raise preflop, initiate probe bets and calling 3bets with set mind, nut flush and raps and it all make sense now.
    You made the biggest change to my game since I started learn PLO about 2 years ago
    You are awesome!!!!!

    love to see a video on targeting players (tilted), finding spots, stack to pot ratio calling 3-5 way (how much should you risk to see the flop), tips/reads on check raise bluffing in spots where you know the villian has overs (AA) and how to get them off the hand, where to sit in a full ring with a couple nits and 1 maniac.... love the work, keep it up! Also, do some video live sessions where you show your hole cards and then break down the hand - show the chips going in!! lol

    Still chugging along. Skipped online. Not my thing.
    So far so good. I have a lot of notes!
    One thing I’m still a little unclear on is flopping 2 pair. I assume top 2 is better than bottom or middle by a large margin.
    Or is 2 pair garbage most of the time unless the board is super dry?
    Thanks again for the videos. Lot of value here

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  2 года назад +1

      Great question! Everything post flop does start to become a little more about intuition.... I do play two pair - If I get called on the flop, unless I pick up extra equity (by turn bringing in a str8 draw or a back door flush draw...or 3 pair)... I tend to slow down. Bottom two pair proceed with extreme caution. Top two pair in many games can be good - it is dependent upon the game and players.

    So a mathematician can likely answer better....but I feel you definitely do have the appropriate implied odds if you are both $5k deep on a $200 flop bet to float when you've hit a key card in a rundown. Don't have a PLO range calculator handy, but assuming they have "crappy" TTxx on that flop you've got 20-23% equity or so. If ok'ish TT87 16- 21% and vs. QJTT you still have 12-17% depending on backdoor flush possibilities. Their tendency to bet pot on the turn might also need to be considered as hitting a 7 on the turn would improve you to 30-33% (no flush draw) and up to 40% with.

    Great material for beginners and good stuff for experienced players too. I have a question, what is the max hourly rate in 1-3-5 deep games for a PLO crusher? Is it something like 50/h or it can be higher?

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  2 года назад +1

      It can be higher…. I think somewhere between 40-50 an hour is reasonable in a 1/2/5 or a 1/3/10 game….
      And of course all is relative…. but overall I think 40 plus an hour is what you should shoot for

    I don't understand why you would do a juicy bet with top set on a wet board. Are you not giving the right odds for others to chase?

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  2 дня назад

      Depends on SPR - and btw, I love this question.... but if we dive into the question further, say each player has a 6:1 SPR - so there's 100 in the pot and each player has 600, and flop is Ts9s2d....what you are proposing is betting small with a set of tens - giving your opponent better odds to call and chase.... Bet Pot, 100 - opponent calls, if turn is a blank, and there is 300 in pot now, opponent has >2:1 SPR, they shouldn't be calling much there unless they have a big Combo draw (like wrap with flush draw). Hope that helps! Ty for the question and ty for watching. - sorry it took me a while to get back with you!

    99xx and play any suited ace. Pretty lousy advice to be handing out to new players. Also, just bombing flops and turns just cuz you have position regardless of your holdings makes no fundamental sense when flops in live plo go 4-5 ways typically. Not sure where you are developing your preflop ranges but once you get below JJ your chances of hitting top set drastically decline. So the idea of playing 99 with two napkins as side cards is a garbage strategy. I hope you aren't charging people for this.

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  2 года назад +3

      I always appreciate all the comments and feedback.
      Watching the first couple of episodes will give you insight as to why I encourage people to only play 99xx or higher.
      99xx principle is to demonstrate to people coming from NLHE that they shouldn’t be playing any pocket pair lower than 9s because if you flop set with any pocket pair lower than 9s it’s very likely you didn’t flop the nuts.
      Also, I believe episode 3 talks about how to handle multi way pots and episode 4 talks about how to handle a crazy table!
      Ty for watching… but my guess is that if you go back and watch from the beg. Of the series you’ll have a better understanding of why I tell people play 99xx or higher (keep in mind it’s a 20 part vlog series).
      More to come and again Ty for the comment and Ty for watching!

    My last game at 1/3 PLO I had 4 bet shoved pre flop with AAds for around $600. It was a 3 way pot, and the guy in the middle who didn't close the action called my all in with a JT64 one suit. He only had $100 committed before calling my shove. Surely this is an awful play no matter what he puts me on? The guy scooped the pot too hitting trip 6s on the river. I don't think I've ever been more tilted when he tabled his hand.

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  2 года назад +1

      Depends on his specific read on both you and the other player.
      If he truly felt both you and the other player had AA…. He’s actually getting the right odds and equity…. I’ve been guilty of going all in pre with TJ24 one suit- was rare but I figured both players had AA…. And I had 38 percent equity.
      It is a little tilting when you see that but it’s a good opportunity to make a mental note that the particular player is ready willing and able to gamble. I’d use that later against him to punish him

    • @trevorhohner4645
      @trevorhohner4645 2 года назад

      @@ploprofessor Thanks for all your replying, you're one of the best I have come across and giving personal and detailed answers to people. So if you know both opponents have AA hands, you said the JT42 had about 38% equity, but that's best case scenario isn't it? There's a very good chance that either your flush or pair outs are being dominated by one of the other hands, in which case your equity is a lot less. So making that call, are you not just gambling that all of your outs will be live? I need to learn more about PLO equity!

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  2 года назад

      @@trevorhohner4645 sort of…. So any 4 random cards that are NOT PAIRED vs two hands that have AAxx is always going to have at least 25 percent equity. After that it’s a matter of how many other cards your opponent has that are also in your hand… and suits too!
