I never heard anyone get a sound like that out of a Telecaster. The guy is really an underrated guitar player.
he's a fantastic guitar player, listen to some of the old thrill hill videos from 78. particularly Prove it all Night.
Wow I didn't realise what a great guitarist Bruce is.
He's so underrated. He's not technically great but has great feel and a ton of passion and soul in his playing.
Everything you need to know about Rock, in 5 awesome minutes.
Quintessential Bruce - the fire that drives him, angst , catholic sin, father - son, - born to run
His face is made for movies ! Look at this intensity
The guitar at the beginning still gives me chills
First time seeing this. That man is the balls. His emotional songwriting, guitar playing, and fierce commitment to being in the moment mean it all.
The Boss sounds better than the balls, I won’t lie
This is a song that relates to my father and I. I always loved him until I realized he wasn't ever going to love me.
With you bro. Lost my Dad a year ago. We never cleared things up. If he is still around and you are able...tell him.
Damn bro…that’s some sad shit.
Sorry man, glad you have this song.
Just going thru this with my dad at 36 years of age man... sucks.... always loved this song always will but damn
Mam podobnie tylko z tą różnicą że tyczy się to do mojej matki i mnie. 😢.
The ideal Father's Day song.
@rorgill 😂😂😂😂😂
So many burgers will be flipped wearing the Nike grillmaster 3000s
total.
HAHAHA!! Best response ever!! 😂😂
The best song from Springsteen. And one of the five songs to keep with on a lonely island....
Totally agree!
I feel like I was born on that island lol cool comment thank you for the laugh and huge smile
Ringtone on my cell phone for almost a half decade.
Became fan of this song when it was aired in SOA's final episode. Springsteen ❣️
Max is always on point so underrated.
Listening in Italy at the beach, 30 °C and the biggest shivers
Greatest album ever I’ll never forget this song the first time I saw him in concert 88 Pittsburgh turned 18 that night and he blew me away
That’s amazing!! I’ll be 18 on the 27th of this month. I love old music like this.
@@JSGaming0327 what’s your favorite old music my son will be 18 in November and he loves older music as well
You became a man TWICE that night
Wonderful record
Adam Raised A Cain is therapy and psychoanalysis all rolled into one powerful song.
I would love it if the Paramount Theatre show were released on CD and Vinyl. Darkness on the Edge of Town is a phenomenal album. The lyrics are dark, and the band is mighty. Hearing the album live in its entirety is the best medicine
The beauty of this song is its raw power and basic chord structures.
This was my father-in-law. Took a hell of a lot of work for my husband to break that legacy, but it can be done. He did it, and he’s my hero.
A perfect track in a perfect series... Sons of anarchy the final ride...thanks Boss you're the Greatest!
Damn this is a nice and dirty take on the song. Bruce is killin it on this version!
This is my favorite version
The 1988 renditions are good too
I thought it was Steve that did all the lead on darkness but it was Bruce, pretty decent guitarist.
This my friends is why Bruce is the BOSS!! WOW, Amazing energy , emotion, Thank you BOSS!
The definitive version of this song. Fantastic.
John Piassek Anything from the Darkness tour in ‘78 kills this version.
THIS is rock
Lifelong Boss fan and recording artist here....this was an absolutely incredible version of this song. Bruce has always been a crazy great guitarist.
Beautiful man of many colours with a heart bigger than the world.🎼♥️🇦🇺
I’ve never really been into Bruce before. I just picked this album on a whim. This song fucking rocks. This is one of my favorite songs now. Bruce is killing that guitar.
Same , someone was playing this at gym and I got hooked
It dosnt, matter how long it takes you to get there... just as long was you do...almost 50 years for me.
My Man Bruce is Killin in this performance jamming His Beloved Tele Pure Perfection 💕👏💫😎 He Was 60yrs old in this Bad Ass video trying to Fight Off his Demon Depression and doing a great job of it Long Live Mr Bruce Springsteen!!!
This is the song that turned me on to Bruce Springsteen. Still get chills when I hear it.
I've been thinking lately about where my real love for Springsteen's music started. I came upon this song from the Darkness album. Born in the USA was the first album I listened to, but when I heard this song I was really impressed by the rawness of his voice for the first time. Until then I had been raised, mainly by my father, with classical music and classical voices. This song was the first song that was really different.
This is real rock. Thanks Bruce
I love that song since day one.I'm sure he could also make a hardrock album and blew everybody away.
Anyway, music has a million ways and styles to talk to you know.Bruce knows them all🎸🎙🎵👌👍🏽
I absolutely adore that telecaster and how bruce is getting at it like a red headed step child here! 👌 Get on it Boss.
Pure. Gritty. Hard. Honest. Great!
He really is The BOSS!
Showcasing Bruce’s amazing guitar skills
Max Weinberg so great !! What play !!
One of my favourite performances by anyone anywhere anytime
Dynamite! Just, simply, dynamite.
Raw emotion put into a great song. Love it!
It.s not pleasant,it’s not comfortable.it’s confronting. It’s Bruce at his best.
What a performance just wicked
Happy Birthday Boss Man. Sick solo!
Seen Bruce half a dozen times and he's never played this, sadly he exploded in Australia with Born in the USA and that is the album that fills the playlist when he comes to Brisbane. His best song off his greatest album.
Think you better check the Brisbane set lists - 2014 for example
He opend the berlin show 2016 with this one. Totally blew my mind.
Max Weinberg is a fucking beast on drums! Matched only by his son.
Technically he isn’t the greatest guitarist, but he more than makes up for it with emotion, and when he really gets into it, his playing is off the charts.
Still Rock & Roll.
There’s some concert videos from the 70s where he’s really shredding! He seems pretty damn good!
That's what being a great guitarist is. There are no other relevant metrics, shred all you want, learn all the theory there is but but that's just means to an end. The "better" guitarists get virtuosity-wise, the worse music they seem to make.
I dont think he lacks technical skills. I think it's that hes a good friend and generous musician who givex Clarence shine in the places that would be reserved for Springsteen's guitar solos.
This is the only badass song that makes me cry
I love this!! Thank you so much Bruce for uploading the complete DVD!!
Incredible version.
Everyone who loves this should check out Lost in the Flood from Buffalo. Incredible guitar work.
Also youngstown, live version
That line "You're born into this life paying for the sins of somebody else's past." Really gets to me. I know this song is from a male perspective, but when my mother died when I was 9, I was left with my dad. He often drank too much and beat me up. Called me useless, ugly, bastard and that I would amount to nothing. He never called me by my name it was always 'it.' Which, until I read a book called A Child Called It, I thought it was a term of endearment!
I put up with his abuse until I ran off at 15. But it wasn't until I was 30 that I found out I wasn't my fathers child. My mother had an affair and I was the result. I have spent from the age of 19 on anti depressants, so many suicide attempts, drinking heavily etc. I'm now 50 and still on anti depressants. But don't drink anymore.
But I didn't know, it wasn't my bloody fault. So Bruce, here's an English poem by Philip Larkin Called This Be The Verse. It says everything and how we are all products of our childhoods.
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.
Sorry to hear it, Michelle. I hope you find healing. xxx
@@sophie-grace9143 Thank you, yes I have now. I'm a paramedic, so I'm not "useless." Thanks again.
it was never your fault. nor the guy that was your Dad. you got a bad draw, as he did. it was your Mom that did you wrong.
@@Reizermo Thanks. I became a nurse before becoming a paramedic. And my sister has 0 negative blood group and I'm A positive. It clicked then. 2 parents can't have children with those different blood groups.
@@Reizermo I know. But I still wish she hadn't died when I was so young. It's had such a lifelong effect on me. She wanted me to do so well in life yet I feel I've let her down.
Che grinta!!! Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce!!!😅😇😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗🤗😘😘😍😍🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💎💎💔💓♥️🎸🎷💋💋

Las canciones del album "Darkness on the edge of town" tocadas en vivo son puro fuego.
Rockadnroll pure and hard, from the soul. From Perú.
Perú tambien aprecia lo mejor
I love Bruce so much his band is top notch Darkness is my favorite album This performance is is mind blowing . Bruce has his views on political stuff I don't agree but can't change that I love him and his band God bless
I love artists who's live concerts are better than studio versions.
Bruce blew a fuse,,, yea a,,, blew a fuse,, yea ah !!!!! Lol,,,, Great tune ! 😜👍💕
This is probably the angriest song I have ever heard
He didn't get on with his dad. I think that's why he puts so much anger into it. I never got on with my family, I was the black sheep. I left and ended up in a violent relationship. I left him and went back home, only for my dad to tell me to go back to my husband and that he hoped he had hit me hard enough. So I can really relate to Bruce's anger.
@@michelle88960 I'm sorry to here that, that must be awful. I hope you're in a much better situation now.
@@liamcoghlan5408 I'm in a lot better place now. I live with a Caucasian Shepherd, Dylan. I have no intention of having another relationship. I'm happy in my peaceful cocoon, being able to do or go wherever I want. Thanks for asking.

Que top esse cara sou fã demais....
Bruce can come to SINGAPORE?waiting for you to perform since my national service 1985 until now.....33 yrs counting sigh😥
Long live the BOSS!
I loved it Boss if only I could play like u man
Awesome song with a mean sound I don't normally associate with them!
That's how it's done!
I know how he feels all too well. In my case it was BOTH OF MY PARENTS that don’t like me and they were the ones that did horrible stuff so bad I can’t even post it here. At age 35 I realized they’d never love me and I started focusing on my own business, life, and mental well-being. I’ve struggled with depression pretty much all my life. Now at at age 38 Adam Raised a Cain hits even harder for me.
i hope you live the rest of your life well and that you never have to feel like you need to earn anyone's love. good luck! you deserve a good life
@@leeroth4645 My life is good now. I cut them all off, every last one of them. Now they come for me for help, but I cannot help them. All I can do is pray for their well-being...from afar. And pray that the Creator shows mercy on them in their final days. That's as much help as they'll get from me.

Such a fantastic way to start it. The song fitted perfectly well.
Played with lots of intensity and an edginess! Love it!
Had no idea He can Choke the guitar like that!
Da togliere il fiato!!super
These boys are Real crafters
No! Now get it Right! This is Rock AND Roll! PERIOD!
Brilliant 🎼♥️🇦🇺
Rockadnroll puro y duro, salido desde el alma.
Bruce looks like he's gonna hurt himself playing the guitar that hard.
He beats the life out of that Telecaster !!!
Colin Graham I think he did, every joint, and a lot of tendons and ligaments.
I mean...holy shit
well said
Lost but not Forgoten.
I understand this deeply
Goosebumps
Lost but not forgotten, from the dark heart of a dream..
Merci d'exister Boss !
SUPER.... On remarque aussi dans le groupe (avec le bandeau) le guitariste Steven Van Zandt qui aussi joue superbement dans la série "The Soprano" le rôle de Silvio.

Note: Filming of a live performance of Darkness On The Edge Of Town for the deluxe box-set of The Promise - The Darkness On The Edge Of Town Story, released November 15th 2010 (Europe) and November 16th 2010 (US). At least two run-throughs of each track, performed in front of an empty theatre. Songs were not performed in album order. Just the original band that performed on the original album are present, with Charlie Giordano replacing the late Danny Federici.
Practice makes perfect ...
They were pushing 60 then...ridiculous that it's that intense. Ridiculous.
60 is the new 40
Soulful
This track was a great choice for Sons of Anarchy...bad to the bone
Will never stop sharing this 2:17
