Good job. Made me think about the issues. Not sure just how I would employ the distinctions, but it's great to hear / or "know" (ha ha) that there are variables that I could manipulate. (Color is so multifaceted.) At the end of the day, Just PLAY seems to be the guidance. Thanks!

Good information in this video, interesting. The switch to black and white was very helpful to aid in understanding.

I’ve recently completed an important project of stranger things, what’s important is that I used a lot of open acrylics! I hardly say this but open golden acrylics changed my life!!! Lol, it’s true! I’ll tag you when we release that project in social media.
I wish you guys release a full set of neutrals for open acrylics.

I have to deflect painting questions at an art fair (I there to sell), so I am making a "must see" video list. THIS will get high billing on my "recommended video" sheet . Thanks.

I like it in the canvas preparation and then soak the bias to surface with turpentine. I got burgundy red and a green slate. Does this make sense? I got green umber dry pigment I want to mix with green slate.

If you plan on mixing dry pigments with other oil paints, it’d be best to mix the pigment with linseed oil first, mull it on a glass plate to a smooth paint and then blend with other oil paints. This should help to avoid clumps and overloading with pigment.

Are there any Golden Acrylic Neutral grays in the fluid acrylics? If not, any plans to introduce to the fluid line?

Hello Kate, no immediate plans for Neutral Grays in Fluid, High Flow, OPEN or SoFlat. We have been making four Neutral Grays in Williamsburg Oils for years, but just recently moved them from special edition colors only available in 150ml to 37ml tube available in a set.

I'm curious why there is not a neutral 5 or middle gray. Any chance to get that color?

Hello Debra! Sorry for the delayed response. The 10 point scale from black to white is pretty common and easily understood, and not wanting to create 8 colors, we spanned the scale between black and white with just four (2, 4, 6, 8) allowing artists to fill the gaps as they see fit. A five can be pretty easily made by mixing 4 and 6.

What do you do with ardoise grey?

    • @GoldenPaints
      @GoldenPaints  6 месяцев назад

The low tinting strength of Ardoise Gray allows for a more heavy handed application and it has a nice midtone color to start of a composition.

I would like to see a demo of glazing fluid used with acrylics the way you would use oil medium for glazing with oil paints.
Perhaps a demo of a very simple still life, perhaps a sphere or a cylinder.
Frankly i don't think you guys advertise glazing fluid that much. And I think there are a lot of artists that don't know about it.
Recently I watched a short video by a professional artist bashing acrylics. He used water as a medium. A lot of people use just water with acrylics and it's a horrible option considering how far acrylics have come.

@Zlatan. I would also love videos about the glazing Liquid! Their gloss glazing fluid is one of my favorite mediums of all of them!! So seeing them fully use it lots of different ways would be awesome! I can't afford it much, but it's the one thing I buy first if just one thing :)

Hello Zlatan and Jaded, you may want to watch this video about blending and glazing with acrylics. The focus is on OPEN Acrylic Colors, but at about 2:15 we get into Glazing Liquid: ruclips.net/video/B8MZq9RWpyU/видео.html - you should also know that all four OPEN mediums will function very similarly to Glazing Liquid. OPEN Gel maintains a little more body that OPEN Fluid medium, but either can be used with regular Heavy Body or Fluid Acrylic colors to extend paint to a glaze and slow drying to enable soft blending effects.
