Tuckahoe is most famous as being the childhood home of Thomas Jefferson. It's also home to one of Virginia's most prominent first families, The Randolph's.

One of many places in Virginia I have yet to see in person. I love that Tuckahoe is still very much lived in as a private residence. They have a clothesline, and they use it! Houses like this one need to be lived in, and cared for, and not always treated like precious museum pieces (precious though they are!). Thank you for sharing your visit there with us!

Great video, came across it while looking up William Randolph of Dungeness who I descend from. I learned rather recently that I am a 1st cousin to Thomas Jefferson, (9x removed however).

The Randolph's were my ancestors. Thomas Jefferson is my 1st cousin 6x removed.
