I'm Greek and a polyglot. I speak fluently 4 languages and have also been learning Russian for a year and a half. It is probably the most difficult one, but I love it and see it as a challenge to achieve fluency. I also love to write it - it's similar to Greek, but also so different. A really cool language and is spoken/understood in so many Eastern countries.
Yes, the Cyrillic alphabet is based on the Uncial script.
If I may ask, which are the languages you speak other than English and Greek?

Hello from the US! I've been learning Russian for a few months and hope to make it my third language. It's very lyrical and quite fun, but good god the grammar is making my head explode. I hope to be able to converse with the locals upon a future visit to Russia, a place I've been wanting to see for a long time. Cheers!
Welcome! Don't worry about grammar overly. We often hear foreigners with mistakes in grammar, but we good understanding you usually, it is not big problem.
If foreigner know russian words and use it, it great already.
You have a few years to learn. You will have time to learn Russian.

I’m so impressed with Fedor’s obvious commitment to his learners. He’s just a natural teacher! I started learning when lockdown first happened - wasn’t too sure at first but Fedor’s enthusiasm helped to keep me going. We’ve just started a U3A (University of the 3rd Age) group in Plymouth (UK), but we’ll only meet fortnightly, so these videos will be the mainstay of any progress I make towards being able to communicate in Russian. It would be nice to have contact with Russian speakers, but this is pretty impossible at the moment! Keep up the good work, Fedor, and thanks for the inspiration!

I'm learning Russian as a Slovak and I'm finding some similarities between Russian and Czech 😅🤭. For ex. good morning - доброе утро in Czech is "dobré jitro" or Where are you from? - Вы откуда? "Odkud jste?" in both languages with very similar pronunciation. It's easier to pick and learn these phrases for me. ☺️
Yeah, most Slavic languages are quite similar. I love to watch channel @worldfriends77 , they show how similar words in different languages sound ^_^
It’s very useful 😅I enjoyed it , please put more phrases and numbers thanks
Thanks, great!
I’ve always loved the way Russian sounds, it’s a very beautiful language. I hope I will be fluent one day🙏
Самое забавное, что на русском можно говорить на сленге и вряд ли это возможно будет перевести. А любой русский тебя легко поймет. При этом знаток классического русского вообще не будет одуплять че за тема.

Oh this is bringing back memories! 1981 I took over my brother's basement apartment and I met my Russian landlords, Susan and Misha. They had a 9 year old daughter Annie who was totally bilingual. I could actually read a first grade book. Well all that faded through the years and all I remember was yes, no, thank you, and goodbye. For me being a little hearing impaired the endings of Russian words kinda to me run together unlike French or Spanish. But I'm going to save this and try to learn these words. It'll help me with listening and trying to get every sound. Susan was the one trying to teach me and she was very patient. Then they moved. On my father's side I'm part Russian amongst other things.
I study recreationally and found 5 of these to be new to me, but wanted to compliment the selection of phrases. Useful, common, and presented well. Ochen horosho ;)
Excellent👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If I'm not mistaken "cup of water" is translated into Russian as "чашка воды" and "стакан воды" is translated into English as "glass of water"

You're really good at explaining things simply. I barely speak my own native language of English lmao. But who knows where I'll be in a year of learning! Спасибо!

I just want to start off by saying. What you do Is badass, I play dayz which is zombie survive which takes place near Russia. So I play on a Roleplay Server and theres people who are native Russians. So I figured it would be cool to talk to them in their language. They spoke perfect english but I wanted to learn a new language and this was as good as any time to learn. And now the little I have learned. Now I have some Russian buddies who are very cool and I talk to them almost every day so thank you for what you do.
Good luck! But keep in mind that literature russian and gamers slang are two different things. And dayz has its own slang. Probably, I don't play it :)
From this day on, I decided to commit myself to learning the Russian language, and I will see after a year what level I have reached.
As someone highly invested in the Russian language this helped me so much
