Hi great hearing from you!! Me and Chris always enjoy each other’s company…. Have done now for 40 years and always enjoy fishing together too regardless of the catch!!! Thanks for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Hi Paul great hearing from you again!!! Diametrically opposite weather for sure … welcome to the great British winter 😂😂 so pleased you enjoyed the video!! Tight lines thanks for watching cheers Ian
Hi mate nice to hear from you again!! That first session was brutally difficult but I felt the chance of a good fish was high but it wasn’t to be unfortunately! Too many pest fish!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Well done for getting out in the ghastly weather we've been having and what a lovely bass Chris had . 😮 great to see thanks for that cheered me right up 😊
Ah lovely to hear from you…. I can tell you that bass cheered us both up too!!! It was freezing cold and was just the tonic we needed! Thanks so much for watching!!!! Cheers Ian
Happy new year lovely to hear from you again!!! Going out in that weather not my best ever idea 😂😂 Still better than sitting at home I think….. just!! Tight lines for 2024 cheers Ian
Firstly Ian it's great to see you back out buddy well done for fishing in them conditions and catching the fish that was a nice bass Chris had would like to wish You and Chris all the best for 2024 looking forward for more videos take care and tight lines 🎣 👍

Hi mate great to hear from you definitely a couple of sessions to forget apart from the bass…. But things can only get better I hope!!!!🤞🤞🤞January and February definitely the worst months of the year in my opinion!!! Thanks as always for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Hi David yes not my finest hour I must say but I really thought chances were good for a nice fish but unfortunately it wasn’t to be ☹️ I can tolerate bad conditions if you are catching the odd decent fish but when you aren’t then you do get a bit dispirited!!! Thanks very much for watching happy new year cheers Ian
Happy new year to you both, Ian you did well to stick that wet day. I fished last Friday and had about 20 of those big pout, no codling either but a nice day out
Lovely to hear from you again! I think the chance of a cod now are very slim until late summer/ autumn unfortunately!! However as long as the odd fish are about in January and February that’s ok for a usually poor time of year! Tight lines thanks for watching cheers Ian
What a contrast to the mad days of summer with the tinsel flingers littering the sea bed with lost gear and parking all over the place . Have been nice to have the beach almost to your self 😊
Hi great to hear from you! I think there was a reason why so few anglers were out😂😂😂 no mackerel showing unfortunately…… however I do long for a bit of summer weather!!!! Thanks for watching! Cheers Ian
Hi Michael great to hear from you!! Seriously difficult sessions for sure but at least a few bits to keep the rods nodding I guess!!! Glad you enjoyed the video cheers Ian
Happy new year Derek and I hope you had a great Xmas too! Truly horrible weather… not my best ever decision but felt confident of a decent fish but not to be unfortunately! Ah well that’s fishing!!! Tight lines for 2024 cheers Ian
Hi Andy and a happy new year to you too!! Chris certainly has got the knack with the bass at the moment for sure!!! It definitely saved an otherwise poor session!!! Thanks as always for watching cheers Ian

Hi Paul haha I said to another Toon fan I couldn’t go Saturday as the match was on!!! Great result in difficult times …. Beat Man City and Villa and we are back on track!!! Happy 2024!!! Cheers Ian
Hi Ian happy new year and a hope you have a fish filled 2024! Yeah what a day ffs I really fancied a decent fish but not to be unfortunately ☹️ Thanks as always for watching cheers Ian
Hi Harry so glad you enjoyed the video…. Yes the great British weather never fails to deliver and make your day out a challenge for sure!!! I’m dreaming of a June evening already 😂 thanks for watching cheers Ian
@@ianclarkfishing it's definitely gone fresh up here the last 2 days on the east coast. N.e. winds straight in our kissers Ian hahahaha. Its FREEZING LOL.
Cold easterlies down at the Chesil warrants a visit to Dennnings tackle for bait situated on the Portland road and fish the end of the stone bank at weir bay, Fortuneswell you're into very deep water here, sheltered from the easterlies, car park and toilets are all close by. 10 minutes up to Portland bill puts you amongst many species of fish and throws up some great surprises. Tight lines.
Hi Frederick nice to hear from you!! Yes I agree probably not best days to be out on Chesil but lovely to be fishing regardless!!! Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment cheers Ian
Happy new year. Great films, hardcore 1st film I am afraid only a fair weather angler, probably why I don’t catch much! I want to catch a cod and a plaice, 2 I haven’t caught yet.
Hi so glad you enjoyed the video! Best chance of a cod on Chesil probably September or October Abbotsbury and for plaice March or April at Cogden !! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Hi Craig yes lovely to see them still about this time of year…. Chris just dropped a hooked pout back out close in and wham!!!!! It was a very fit well conditioned fish! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Brave or stupid 😂😂😂 A bit of both I think!!! I really fancied a good fish too but the pest species were abundant as was the rain!!!! At my age I can only take so much punishment!!😂 thanks for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Hi Tim I hope you’re right but they seem few and far between….Chesil generally fishes better for cod from September to November but good luck!!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
It did seem to be a struggle to get anything decent until the live bait did its job. Looking forward to the next instalment. Happy New Year to you both and tight lines 😊
Hi Adrian yes the nuisance fish proved a real problem as well as the weather!! We would have live baited earlier but the pout were all too big to use until later in the session!! Thanks as always for watching cheers Ian
Hi Gary and a happy new year to you too!!! Let’s hope this year is better than 2023 for the fishing… only a handful of decent days out for us but we remain optimistic!!! Thanks as always for watching much appreciated cheers Ian
Hi Steve yes I told Chris I couldn’t go Saturday because of the Toon match!!! We need a couple of new faces I think but this talk of getting rid of the manager really upsets me 😡😡 Glad you enjoyed the video thanks as always for watching cheers Ian
What’s that saying about the fine line between sanity 🤦♂️. Nice to see you out there again Ian. And if you and Chris can’t find any cod who could 😂😂🐟🎣
Happy new year Kevin!!! Mrs C reminded me of my stupidity on my return in no uncertain fashion!😂😂😂 Something about knowing better at my age!🙄 Think that’s it for the Chesil cod this winter unfortunately! Tight lines mate cheers Ian
Happy new year to you too mate!! Well I could do a Brean hour long video of us looking at no moving rod tips that would send you to sleep for sure 😂😂 I’m hopeful that March will bring something better locally !! I’m not a fan of January and February the fishing usually crap but I felt that you needed a video!!! Take care mate cheers Ian
Great video as always Ian. Fair shout for sticking it out on the beach in those conditions. Lovely bass for Chris. Have you got a Berrow, Brean session coming up? Cheers and tight lines.
Hi Nick lovely to hear from you again!!! It was horrible weather for sure on Thursday Mrs c not happy with me dripping water everywhere on my return 😂😂 We have been fishing Brean all winter for nothing worth reporting apart from pin whiting and very small rays but as sure as I get anything decent rest assured a video will come out!!! Cheers Ian
Love your videos Ian! Question, why does northerly and high air pressure lower chance of fish in your opinion? Planning a trip soon . Northerly wind is apparent will check air pressure now . Thanks Ali
Hi Ali someone else also asked how air pressure influences your chances of catching better. All I know is that low pressure tends to affect the fish positively and high pressure negatively……there are interesting articles on it on line!!! Low pressure tends to bring milder windy conditions which encourages feeding I think!!! Thanks for taking the time to comment cheers Ian
Happy New Year Ian. Can't say that I blame you for choosing Chesil over BC which has been quiet considering the conditions. Did you start at Abbots and then Ferrybridge?
Hi Paul lovely to hear from you again! Yes Abbotsbury first trip then Ferrybridge. Me and Chris struggling in BC this winter no cod about for us unfortunately and February still to come😡 hopefully March will see the bass arrive with spring run of codling….who am I kidding 😂😂😂 thanks as always for watching cheers Ian
Hi Ian , I'm just watching one of your videos from 7 months ago at Chesil, can you please tell me the make of the rechargeable bicycle headlight you use to mount onto your tripod to light up your rods Great channel , enjoying it , I just subscribed
Hi Stanley lovely to hear from you!! Thanks for watching and subscribing! I’ve looked back on my Amazon account and it was an Ocoopa rechargeable bike light. There are quite a few there of a similar style. Keep watching cheers Ian
Hi lovely to hear from you!! Low pressure tends to be better for fishing than high pressure… low pressure usually brings wind which helps but it’s not an exact science but I would always prefer air pressure to be low if I had a choice. There are some informative articles on the web which shed more light on the subject!! Thanks for watching cheers Ian
Great couple of fishing sessions and Chris lands yet another Bass beauty. Well done both.
