'red putty 'was used a lot when primer was lacquer. In the 60s & 70s. Good thing it'll be stripped. I've had an fc170 no rust. Factory wheels on that one.
Love old cab over trucks, those sheet metal corners are fixable, keep an eye out for unusual sources of good sheet metal, might sound odd but old appliances like 50's era have a lot of those same curves to use for patch panels. Awesome truck either way!
Check around you for a street rod builder that has an English Wheel. It's a sheetmetal roller that might recreate that nasty right front bondo disaster. I would cut it out and weld in a new panel. Good Luck! Luv the Willys trucks! AL B in Ohio.
Check on cab corners for Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, International. Probably find one that will work and look more finished. Just don't paint it all in flat black rattle can!! Lots of work ahead of you. Once you start I am sure everything will not be so "Super". Good luck.
ive always wanted one, but i have 3 Jeeps, a 90 grand wagoneer, a ZJ and took on a 76 Jeep J10 8ft bed last fall, and done a crap ton of work to it to get it runnin and fixed the rust on it etc... but its not done... So i think i should just keep focusing on my J10.. i mean theyre unique as well not many have em on the road if at all anymore.. but an FC is super special imo but there is a FC 150 62... 40 min from me for $850... its complete... has everything. and its drivetrain... which is hard to find.. most fcs i see people want thousands for a shell and nothing else. says it doesnt run so i dunno if the engine is bad, or just need a carb rebuild and stuff. That grate for your cooling, the original one is gone, originals had a skid plate
@@Jaffaffa I live in Ontario Oregon. Where In Utah are you? Are your original wheels 4.5 wide? I heard you mention Stan with grandpas jeep in one of your videos, are you on the 2a page? I’m Flatfender Ben on the 2a page.
@@WindySageFarms I am located in Willard Utah! They are! I am a part of a few 2a pages with Stan on them! I’ll have to see if I can find you! Which page?

That is a fantastic idea! I’ve never thought of that. Thank you!

Will do, thank you for the advice!!
One of my Dads friends had a cherry pie version FC 170. Of course it was only 6 years old then in 1968.
That is awesome!!
What a cutie!
She is a little sweetheart 😂
How cool where did you find it? Love it…. I want one
One of my friends owned a few of them! So asked if he’d sell me this one and he did!

Really like the patina on this!
I would be interested in those modified wide wheels.
I have two original wheels I would trade you for them.
Thank you!! That would be awesome! Where are you located?
