Same. Love how organised she is on camera. Nothing more frustrating when other youtubers get on camera and waffle, apologise for being unorganised or off camera for 3wks because of sickness blah blah I’m like “just show/talk to me about the topic you say your going to talk about”

Trying on clothes is such a big money saver for me too! I can fill a shopping cart at the thrift store with clothes that I like, but as soon as I try them on I know if I love it or hate it. Be smart shoppers
Here are two more: I've regretted not returning things to a store that I should have returned. And I've regretted not taking inventory of what I have before shopping.
1. Peer pressure 2. Drunk shopping 3. Not having the right apps, sites, and plug ins 4. Purchasing instead of renting 5. Party shoes 6. Crappy bed 7. Monthly beauty boxes 8. Not trying things on 9. Not refurbishing/changing items
All of those makeup samples could be sold on poshmark! There's a massive second market for new samples (especially if you bundle them). Also, a lot of women's shelters or dress for success centers take unopened makeup and makeup samples (nice tax donation) and for a worthy cause.
Nostalgia when Chelsea started off the story with "drunk at home" and I already knew it was the child's couch bc I've been subscribed since forever lol
I bloody love the irreverence Chelsea has in her videos and her ability to laugh at herself is gold. Such personality mixed with terrific advice = win.
Chelsea I have to confess, I've been emotional & binge shopping but today I finally got it under control. Went to look at tops that were on sale, found a a few, good prices but the fit wasn't really flattering. So I put them down and walked away. So proud of myself especially because I was really emotional today and looking for ANYTHING to spark joy. Bought a pizza and flowers instead :)
Omg that picture of you with long hair is my hair goalsssss - also I love your videos bc I’m the oldest child and I take your advice like you’re an older online youtuber sister who helps me save money 💰
I have saved so much money by having the rule that I must try on clothes before buying them! It is extra important at thrift stores because a try on will greatly increase the chances of finding possible defects. I also have the rule that I am not allowed to buy anything that I am already thinking that I might return.
A shopping regret to share: I have so many items that are dry clean only! Ugh I buy the dress and then I have to pay again after a couple of wears!! I literally have an entire section of my wardrobe that is in dry cleaning purgatory!
I once got sucked into a "free facial" at a skincare store. I didn't understand that it was actually a 2 hour sales pitch and felt to awkward saying "no" while someone was applying acids to my face. I walked out of the store with $900 of skin care items that were probably not worth a tenth of that amount. I was really insecure back then and a total sucker.
1. Being afraid to put stuff back 2. Literal child's couch 3. Using the right apps and plugins 4. Renting things 5. Party shoes 6. Bad bed 7. Beauty subscriptions 8. Not trying things on 9. Not refurbishing
"not taking the times to try things on" everytime i regretted whenever i shop online. its a waste of money and i dont even feel sparks wearing these things
I've used up almost all my beauty box samples, but my case was peculiar. I had money saved up to travel and decided to get a part time job at the airport to have flight benefits. So... within 2 years, I used up at least 80% of my beauty samples. I'd also use them up when I went over to my boyfriend's for sleepovers - now that things are far ahead of that - I have little to no use for sample sizes. Beauty boxes are pretty pointless after a certain rate though, because they tend to go down in quality as they get more popular. You end up accumulating a whole bunch of unwanted foil-packets.
Cobblers are the actual best though!! I took my mukluks to get resoled and my favourite pair of ankle boot heels to get the heel fixed. Saved a couple hundred bucks by fixing my favourite old winter shoes instead of throwing out and buying new
You are literally hysterical and amazing and I love how real and authentic you are. I love how ‘not perfect’ you are which makes you kind of perfect and thus why I have been watching TFD forever and recommend it to every. single. person. i. know. Please don’t stop. Also, how tall is your husband?
Great video!! Love how much fun you were having LOL. I think my main regret is that I did not consider buying second hand more often - both in clothes and furniture. It takes way more effort to find the right thing... but buy does it save like 90%+ in money.
Chelsea, take your shoes to the cobbler when you buy them and have a vibrate half sole put on. It extends the life of your shoe forever, because when the vibrate wears down, you just have another one put on and the original sole is pristine.
Gold is where you find it...Hubs needed a moving van for a day. Our local Home Depot advertised a rental truck for $19.99--I'm confident HD was envisioning moving plants for a wedding or such. The only catch- purchase required. In the epitome of customer service, the sales girl sold hubs a $1.99 Hershey's bar and out the door we went with our moving truck for the day.
I actually just signed up for Rakuten about a week ago, and I wish I had done it years ago! I remember hearing the ads for EBates (previous name for Rakuten), and thinking it was just a scam, so I never looked into it. Fast forward years later, and I am kicking myself for all the money I could have saved 😒Anyway, I've got it now, and I've already saved $65, yay! 😁 (and this was on things I was already buying anyway). I have a lot of regrets about clothes I have bought over the years that were a HUGE waste of money, as well as beauty products that I never ended up using. I would probably be rich if I had just put all that money in the bank instead of wasting it on stupid stuff! 😖.
I make myself try clothes on. If I’m too lazy to try the thing on, I probably did t want it that badly to begin with and I don’t allow myself to buy it
1 being afraid to put stuff back 2 childs couch 3 not using the right apps/plug ins 4 purchased items that could have been rented 5 any party shoes 6 a crappy bed 7 monthly beauty boxes 8 not trying things on 9 not refurbishing or changing items
I’m the total opposite, I grew up poor so I’m really right with my money... even though I have more than enough. My main regrets are I see something, fall in love and put it back, when I get home I realise I really want it and then I go back and it’s gone ...
I REALLY appreciate you laoghing in this video so much! Love all your videos because they are so many information and ideas there. But this video is especially nice because it is so funny with you laughing so much!!! LOVE IT

As someone who does get a beauty box every month and someone who really likes makeup and wears it everyday.. birch box sucks lol.. not worth it for me. Boxycharm on the other hand fully worth it for me. There's always at least one product that is worth more than the box is worth and becomes a staple for me. If i don't like other items, they're gifts or donation items, win win.
I used to have a rule to try on and wear the shoes for a full walk around the store to say yes. I found a sky high pair that felt great. Turns out they take an hour to kill you, and they filled with my blood. 😭😱
I'd like to add one more point. Not buying used where it makes sense. Like I'm planning to buy a Kindle and I'll buy it used. I know there are a lot of people who think they will read a lot of books when they get there Kindle but they don't. So I'll get a barely used device for half of the price.
Good video. I'm checking what you mean by "mom haircut." I've found that often things with the description "mom" in front of them are not things that are admired or wanted. See: mom jeans. It's an example of how things women do (become moms) shunt them into uncool/undesirable categories.
your haircut looks lovely!! thank you for another wonderful video. I was wondering if you could make a video about saving up to find an apartment in NYC and tips for the process? Im a native but live with my parents and Im looking to move out next year, but navigating everything by myself feels so overwhelming.
I bought SO many uncomfortable sky-high heels in my teens and 20's. I literally have them stacked in boxes in my closet and NEVER wear them. It hurts too much!!! I am only 27 but I can no longer put up with painful shoes just for the sake of looking cute! I don't know how I used to do it all the time. It's not worth it to me anymore. I'd rather be comfortable than in pain. Now I look at all those shoes and I'm like... Ain't nobody got time for that. Lol. Wish I could get back the $200 I spent on each pair. *sad face*
@@EJay8906 You can feel good knowing you didn't waste any money. Just know I spent over $1,200 on ridiculous heels that I never wear. Now they have NO value and I have a bunch of junk that I'm not strong enough to get rid of! Lol
I love Chelsea!! Your videos are the treat in my morning routine! Can’t wait for the podcast. Chelsea is a keen observer with the perfect amount of wit, sass and self-deprecating humor. And the occasional flex which is awesome. But is he 6’4”? I wasn’t sure 🤔

about 4 months ago I bought a gas powered shredder vac for about 250 bucks. I used it at a job just to discover that I was easier to rake them up and put them in a trash bag. i am debating on putting it up on craigslist.
For me? Buying a bunch of stuff because of "Free returns" but then being too lazy to get around to returning anything. Also, buying stuff from boutique European stores and then getting a *shocking* duty fee on arrival.
This to me was your funniest video yet - loved the humor with the ironic touch (maybe "self-depreciating" is the right word for it - sorry, I'm not a native speaker of English - I hope you get my gist... - in German the word would be "selbstironisch") - for the first time I had to chuckle on a video of yours - loved the experience and felt a connection!
If only I didn't live in NZ...you have to pay 5$ to reserve a book (go on a waiting list basically), ask for it to come for another library from the network, or worse, ask for them to add it to their collection. You also have to pay 5$ to "borrow" certain popular books (think Harrari for example), you ALSO have to pay to borrow DVDs and CDs, between 4 to 6$ each... No way in hell they let you borrow anything other than books for free. Basically, they offer nothing apart from books and there aren't even that many...
I love tons of this advice but actually I disagree about how bad a value beauty boxes are. I keep what works for me and then I gift all the extra deluxe samples to other people in curated boxes for my girlfriends and extended family members. They love it and I avoid keeping a million of those makeup bags you get in them and will never use. Waste not.
Lmao my husband is also 6'4" ... our king size bed in our tiny bedroom (seriously, we have a single file lane to get in and out of our bed) is soooo worth it 🤣 we did the full size bed thing for a couple years while we dated and it's complete misery.
Cori J My fiancé is 6’2” and we can only have a full/queen bed in our tiny bedroom and have the same setup BUT I’m soooo glad we have separate sets of sheets so we drive each other crazy 😂 😂 😂
