My worst nightmare would be filming this in public and people actually thinking you're serious, but never saying anything to you, so you wouldn't even be able to correct them.
I grew up evangelical :/ this is accurate. We were not allowed to celebrate Halloween unless it was a "trunk or treat" at church eventually. We were not allowed to trick or treat, only could hand out "gosple tracks" at home when trick or treaters came by our house. 🙄 As a kid, maybe around 7 i remember asking my dad if i could go trick or treating and he said "no because its the devil's holiday" 🤡
@@kosmichniyi uh? I'm pretty sure you worded that wrong. This was just one of the many small things growing up. I have religious trauma and CPTSD from my emotionally and mentally abusive parents. Father especially, he would also abuse my mother.

As a Christian this is so freaking funny, my neighbors are just like this. They know we are a Christian though we love Harry Potter and Halloween and they always give us dirty looks when we walk by
My Christian neighbor yelled at a literal toddler for ringing his door, it was Halloween last year and he had the lights on outside, at that point at least 10 parents had told him to turn off the light or make a note so they could tell he wasn't giving out candy. But sure they are unreasonable and not him the guy who told a kid that he would go to hell for asking for candy while having fun with friends
@@darkangelgirl3318 well he no longer lives there, new people are chill, and seeing as there was parents with the kid cos you know toddler. So I am guessing he got in trouble
I understand trunk or treat bc you’re trick or treating but people give candy from their car. I’m glad to say, though, that my Christian school says halloween and celebrates it
I went to an IFB church and this is definitely accurate. They got more to visit for the sermon held that day if they just passed out candy right before it, lol!
What? I thought it was based on that one image going around of a woman and a kid that had a caption like “We don’t Celebrate Halloween so we’re dressing up and handing out candy!”
I love how absolutely infuriating you make your uber-Christian characters. I know that not all Christians are like this, but I bet every person - even actual kindhearted Christians - know Christian people like this. And about THAT ONE AUTHOR, I'll just say that to grow up on her stories and then find out she hates people like me (both gender and heritage-wise) was one of the Top 10 Greatest Anime Betrayals. But of course Christian Mom would admire her 'StAnDiNg Up FoR wHaT sHe BeLiEvEs In'. Oy.
I’m seeing trunk or treats advertised around me, but I’ve never been to one because I don’t have kids and they weren’t a thing when I was a kid. I assumed it was just a helicopter parent afraid of strangers thing. I had no idea it was also a fundie Halloween hating thing.
They're also popular for people who live in rural or unsafe areas, or kids with physically disabled parents who can't walk the neighborhood effectively!
It’s becoming more of a secular thing too. We’re having one at my gymnastics gym in the parking lot while inside they’re doing a haunted house and gymnastics fun circuits. I’m doing a fortune teller booth at my car. I probably will be going to hell. But at least I’ll be with friends.
This is hilarious 😂 I’m from a country where many people reject halloween because it’s “American” and “we’ll celebrate an American holiday when they celebrate Busójárás!”
It’s funny, my Catholic school/ church back in the day was the only one that threw a kickass Halloween carnival, g rated haunted house but still. Then one year one parent complained and it died.
I decorate my house for Halloween and even had a few lovely "considered parents" come by to tell me to take it down. Most of my decorations are Nightmare Before Christmas items. Utah is fun 🙄
We went to a house that was handing out homemade comic books instead of candy, which I thought was cute.......until I read it later and it was about a boy who got hit by a car while out trick or treating and ended up in hell for it. 🙄 Really should have seen that coming, the house had the nativity scene on their lawn already.
There was a time where at my school we were gonna dress up on october 28 (it was because of a Children’s day celebration) but suddenly they cancelled it at last minute Some say it was because the parents of a class thought it was for Halloween Others say it was because a class wanted to decorate for Halloween their classroom At the end they had one class come dressed up for every day of the first week of November instead of having all the school dressed up on October 28 (but elementary students still got to dress up all that day, that nonsense only applied for middle and high students
My God, it is so sad these people actually exist. My parents took us to a fairly conservative church but even we didn't do any of this crap growing up. "Let them have fun, it's just harmless time with their friends to go get candy together" sums it up. Sad to see kids were deprived of that in the supposed name of Jesus.
I moved house recently so I am not sure if I should expect any trick-or-treaters. There could also be a similar event around St. Martin's day in this region. I'd better buy a boatload of candy twice to be on the safe side. What's that? Ask the neighbours? No thanks, I'll stick to the candy-buying plan.
My worst nightmare would be filming this in public and people actually thinking you're serious, but never saying anything to you, so you wouldn't even be able to correct them.
I feel they break out laughing after every shot so people get that they’re joking. I hope…

“Fall festival” or “trunk or treat” 😭 I hate they’re trying to get rid of very old holidays. I’m Christian but I think it’s harmful to do that

Kept wondering if the JKRowling references would touch on her transphobia in relation to the "one day a year" moment from earlier in the vid
Also the praise for "standing for what she belives in"
Its not “transphobia” its called common sense
Who remembers the traumatizing little orange Christian comic where a trick or treater’s friend gets killed by a monster and he goes to hell
The Chick tract?

Eternal Helloween lmao. Helloween is an awesome metal band and alot of their songs have subtle christian themes. Michael the guitarist is Catholic.

Kids dressing up and asking for candy is not demonic. As a Catholic, there is a right way to do Halloween
