I think back when La Gargola was being written, he said that he knew the fans wanted a return to the heavier stuff from WWN and TTOT. He's said that this new album is a return to the more melodic style they'd been going for on Sci-Fi Crimes and Hats Off, and now that he's also said "if the fans don't like it, I'm taking a break," it makes me think he was writing what the fans wanted to hear on La Gargola and North Corridor instead of what was in his heart. If he can't write the music he wants under the name of Chevelle, he's gonna move away from that name so he CAN write what he wants without fans expecting it to be Chevelle's "brand." This is 10000% a tin foil hat conspiracy theory, but it's just what came to mind when I read that.
Honestly? After this hell of a banger, Pete should just push aside any project other than Chevelle. If this song is him making the music HE wants, then he better be ready to keep Chevelle on the very top of his priority list! Not to diminish his work on any other project of course. Chevelle is just THAT awesome. Wow, Chevelle has to be considered for a Grammy for hard rock with this masterpiece of an album, they are up there as one of the best alternative rock bands that has stood the test of time!!!
Easily one of the best rock albums of the year (so far) & I’d agree with the Grammy nod, sadly the Grammys have been rigged & never give artists/bands who write pure classics a fair shake.
I think if we spread the word and get help get their new music out there, we can help them win a Grammy. The sound is so pristine and the guitar drums piano bass and keys are clean! Next level sound for sure.
Everything they put out is just pure gold and has been that way since I was a kid. Even as a 33 year old woman, Pete is still my biggest crush. That voice just penetrates ur soul.
I think we need those old school bands like Chevelle back, whose lyrics communicated change, love, truth and evolution. Rather than the distractions that the radio plays these days keeping us occupied with money, sex and violence.

I’ve literally grown up with Chevelle. I was born in 2000 and the first song I ever remember hearing was Send the Pain Below when I was just a few years old. So thankful I was given a dad with a great taste in music

What really pissed me off is I guess some people consider this "buttrock", whatever that really means. I've been a fan of them for awhile and I just always considered them good music. A bit Helmet, a bit Tool, but completely their own.
Recently seen them live, they 100% sparked the fire for me again. Listened to them for 20 years but never heard newer than Sci fi crimes. This song live gave me chills, people in the crowd screaming "play that mfer again!". I questioned it being the original singer cause he looked and sounded so young 😂 incredible band. Love em
As someone who has seen Chevelle 8 times live they are killer and get better each time, I never miss them if the chance is there saw them 2 nights in a row last year and it was just over the top
I love that Chevelle, unlike many bands of their era, never betrayed their core sound and just kept evolving it until it became borderline prog-post-grunge.

Their first three albums don’t even compare to anything else they’ve done; and although all their albums are good, Sci-Fi Crimes and Vena Sera are forgettable.

Their last album was fantastic, but I noticed that Pete wasn't really singing as much on that one, so I'm glad Pete is showing of his vocal abilities on this single. Their music helped me get through so much when I was a teenager and when I heard they were putting out a new album it was like hearing I was getting a visit from an old friend I haven't seen in years and I really needed it.

Yeah I agree, I just kind of stopped discovering new music I guess. I've tried to bestow my knowledge of good music on my teen with the basics: Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Metallica... and newer staples for me like Nirvana, Linkin Park, and Red Hot Chili Peppers...

Wow, Chevelle has to be considered for a Grammy for hard rock with this masterpiece of an album, they are up there as one of the best alternative rock bands that has stood the test of time!!!
Easily one of the best rock albums of the year (so far) & I’d agree with the Grammy nod, sadly the Grammys have been rigged & never give artists/bands who write pure classics a fair shake.
They dont need any stupid grammy to solidify their place in music! The true fans is all they need! We know it's good! 😉

I think we need those old school bands like Chevelle back, whose lyrics communicated change, love, truth and evolution. Rather than the distractions that the radio plays these days keeping us occupied with money, sex and violence.

I’ve literally grown up with Chevelle. I was born in 2000 and the first song I ever remember hearing was Send the Pain Below when I was just a few years old. So thankful I was given a dad with a great taste in music

What really pissed me off is I guess some people consider this "buttrock", whatever that really means. I've been a fan of them for awhile and I just always considered them good music. A bit Helmet, a bit Tool, but completely their own.

JESUS! this slaps. Best lead single they've had in a while, probably since Jars. Their last album was fantastic, but I noticed that Pete wasn't really singing as much on that one, so I'm glad Pete is showing of his vocal abilities on this single. Can't wait to pick up the new album! 2021 is off to a great start for rock.

Their music helped me get through so much when I was a teenager and when I heard they were putting out a new album it was like hearing I was getting a visit from an old friend I haven't seen in years and I really needed it.
A few years ago we had a bad ice storm in Dallas and I had Sci Fi Crimes on repeat for days until the power came back but ill always remember that chevelle has always been there
