I'm 42 and they are still my favorite band, I actually hadn't listened to this album until yesterday because I stopped listening to music at all for awhile and this is definitely one of their best ones in my opinion.

I hope the Deftones are proud when they hear this, I hardly find a song that puts my mind on a plain like the Deftones can but this did! Melodic is KEY and brings emotions to the surface.
I'm a Deftones fan and I strongly concur with this statement, I love chevelle, but this is the one of their first songs I get a euphoria listening to this, it takes you out in the galaxy, back in time, to the future and in the moment at the same time. At the same time I get a nostalgic early-mid 2000s vibe, I wish Chevelle did more songs like this, and this song is underappreciated, in my opinion this is the best song off this album.
Long term deftones fan like linus days 93-94 and always liked chevelle but this song is to me like some of the newer deftones completely soul lifting I have heard it a number of times but when this song comes on my pandora I crank up my denon to 90db and just sit down on my couch and close my eyes for a spell!! It's so intoxicating it's hard to put into words....
For me, Self Destructor had such a wonderfully chaotic Tool vibe to it. This one has the grungey melodic flair of Deftones strewn throughout. Yet at the same time, both are unique to Chevelle, and that’s what I continue to love about them!

Isnt it crazy, we've been listening to Chevelle for what 25 years now? I don't even know how many times I've seen them live, but their music still has the same effect. There isn't a single song that I'm just like "oh, I hear that too much.." and skip it. Not one. Fucking love Chevelle.
This song reminds me of “Until You’re Reformed” in various places. I am so thankful I found this band all the way back in 2004. Every album is a masterpiece.

@@gadbammit4736 I think Dean was leading them down the path toward a harder sound that they may not have been comfortable with. His art is very dark, and so was the music he was involved in. I didn't hate Dean at all, but I think I'm going to enjoy having the old Chevelle back. Maybe they'll hold the bass player position open until my son is ready to join them.

Chevelle I don't what to say other than thank you for this song. The emotional vocals, layered atmosphere, and nostalgia for the past. I'm at a point right now where I'm trying to push forward in making a life for myself and I'm missing the old days so much, this song really conveys that feeling.

I don't think I can't begin to properly explain how much I ADORE this song.. I'm soooo ready for this album. I think Pete and Sam will see that this album will be their best in YEARS. They have nothing to worry about in the sense of what the fans will think. They're worried about it flopping for fans, but this shit won't flop.
It's fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Of course I 'member when Chevelle would put out some kick-ass groovin' jams. It was 20 years ago but feels like yesterday, because it was. Takes me right back.

Thoughts on this very very special song, and why it is a gift to old school Chevelle fans, and not so much for the 'Nouveau Chevelliers'. So I have a friend who is a burgeoning Chevelle fan, which is, to say, he likes Chevelle, but I haven't exposed him to the older stuff. I'm "curating" his Chevelle experience so as to expose him to their music based on his current tastes so that he will find the songs with which can identify and thus grow to love Chevelle, as all human beings (and my dog) should. He walked in the other day while I was listening to this song (on repeat, of course). While we listened we talked a bit about other things, but this song was always in the background. He reported to me that this song is a bit, as he put it, "boring". "It's not for you, though," I told him. "There's so much in this song that's old school Chevelle, from the Send-the-Pain-Below vibe, to the long winded cries reminiscent of Shameful Metaphors...this song is for me and the rest of the lifelong Chevelle fans." He listened for a while longer and then totally agreed with me. I don't know if they did this intentionally, and yeah, I get the Deftones vibe here in the song, but this song seems like it was written for those of us who have been with the band since the beginning. I think it's a gift, and if they didn't mean it that way, that's fine, too. So much of the three songs on this album take me back to the beginning with these guys. Really, really, really amazing stuff. By the way, whoever did the video misspelled "you're". It's possessive, not plural, so "your" should have been used. ;)

I'm unsure who picks their songs to become videos these days, but this one needs to be the next. If done correctly, it would make them very popular again. A great song and very fun to play along to.
This song invokes deep emotion throughout the song. It tells me of a time when things were simple when we were young, when you had no sense of responsibility, but as an adult now, to not forget where you came from. Remember that when you're turned upside down and things get rough...to not overthink it and take things as they come and at your own pace. Don't lose grip of yourself and remember your core self. Don't drift away and get lost into the nothingness of it all, remember when....remember your youth! Remember to take care of yourself, mentally and physically.
As i listen to it i think back on my 1-2yrs after highschool... complete freedom... no reason to go to sleep at any time, do whatever ignorant thing me and my friends had in mind each night. Now im a father and life is different but the memories help me through rough spots
I remember back when I was in high school around 2002 and heard, "The Red" for the first time. I was instantly hooked on Chevelle. I've been a fan ever since. Thank you for keeping the tunes going and good rock music alive!

I hope the Deftones are proud when they hear this, I hardly find a song that puts my mind on a plain like the Deftones can but this did! Melodic is KEY and brings emotions to the surface.
I'm a Deftones fan and I strongly concur with this statement, I love chevelle, but this is the one of their first songs I get a euphoria listening to this, it takes you out in the galaxy, back in time, to the future and in the moment at the same time. At the same time I get a nostalgic early-mid 2000s vibe, I wish Chevelle did more songs like this, and this song is underappreciated, in my opinion this is the best song off this album.
What gets me every time in this song is his vocal range. that high B he constantly wails is REALLY DIFFICULT. and it SOUNDS AWESOME.
Long term deftones fan like linus days 93-94 and always liked chevelle but this song is to me like some of the newer deftones completely soul lifting I have heard it a number of times but when this song comes on my pandora I crank up my denon to 90db and just sit down on my couch and close my eyes for a spell!!

I am obsessed with this song. It brings out so many emotions. The vocals are beautiful.
For me, Self Destructor had such a wonderfully chaotic Tool vibe to it. This one has the grungey melodic flair of Deftones strewn throughout. Yet at the same time, both are unique to Chevelle, and that’s what I continue to love about them!

@@gadbammit4736 I think Dean was leading them down the path toward a harder sound that they may not have been comfortable with. His art is very dark, and so was the music he was involved in. I didn't hate Dean at all, but I think I'm going to enjoy having the old Chevelle back.

Wow, i was just transported 20 years into my past. This song sums up perfectly why I got into these guys in the first place. Easily in the top 5 best Chevelle songs ever! Masterpiece.

Thoughts on this very very special song, and why it is a gift to old school Chevelle fans, and not so much for the 'Nouveau Chevelliers'.
So I have a friend who is a burgeoning Chevelle fan, which is, to say, he likes Chevelle, but I haven't exposed him to the older stuff. I'm "curating" his Chevelle experience so as to expose him to their music based on his current tastes so that he will find the songs with which can identify and thus grow to love Chevelle, as all human beings (and my dog) should.
He walked in the other day while I was listening to this song (on repeat, of course). While we listened we talked a bit about other things, but this song was always in the background. He reported to me that this song is a bit, as he put it, "boring". "It's not for you, though," I told him. "There's so much in this song that's old school Chevelle, from the Send-the-Pain-Below vibe, to the long winded cries reminiscent of Shameful Metaphors...this song is for me and the rest of the lifelong Chevelle fans." He listened for a while longer and then totally agreed with me.
I don't know if they did this intentionally, and yeah, I get the Deftones vibe here in the song, but this song seems like it was written for those of us who have been with the band since the beginning. I think it's a gift, and if they didn't mean it that way, that's fine, too. So much of the three songs on this album take me back to the beginning with these guys. Really, really, really amazing stuff.
By the way, whoever did the video misspelled "you're". It's possessive, not plural, so "your" should have been used. ;)

This song invokes deep emotion throughout the song. It tells me of a time when things were simple when we were young, when you had no sense of responsibility, but as an adult now, to not forget where you came from. Remember that when you're turned upside down and things get rough...to not overthink it and take things as they come and at your own pace. Don't lose grip of yourself and remember your core self. Don't drift away and get lost into the nothingness of it all, remember when....remember your youth! Remember to take care of yourself, mentally and physically.
As i listen to it i think back on my 1-2yrs after highschool... complete freedom... no reason to go to sleep at any time, do whatever ignorant thing me and my friends had in mind each night. Now im a father and life is different but the memories help me through rough spots
