- Went close to odds on this hunt, but it did not feel bad at ALL - the difference in pacing between the starter hunt and random encounters in this game is seriously night & day! This hunt went pretty easily without a hitch and any phasing - let's see if Budew (for Roserade) in Eterna Forest cooperates next!
I've been visiting family back home for the holiday/weekend, but I'll be back to streaming Sunday night. I'll be hunting for Budew in Eterna Forest next!!
Also, my Shining Pearl movie playthrough is coming along fine, and I've been scheming a few level 100 gauntlets - a couple of them involving some menu storage shenanigans!

I am >5000 encounters in Eterna forest (so >10k seen) and I haven’t gotten a shiny yet. I have gotten the double Dustox encounter twice though.

Yo something I realize something aobut your team. You can use the newer mechanics to just get a better chance of encountering with harvest and storm drain in these gens just making it more consistent if you want it.

Thanks to your channel, I started shiny hunting Pichu with the Masuda method! I had a hidden ability female Pikachu lying around that I’m now breeding with a Japanese Espurr. Now I just have to hope the 50% hidden ability is on my side with the shiny I hopefully get

They're pretty good!!!! They've got the classic Pokemon game feel that I haven't felt like a game's had in ages

I was watching your most recent steam on my PlayStation as of me writing this, and I found my first ever shiny. I’ve played Pokémon for so long and never found any except the free red gyarados and wonder traded hacked Pokémon. However I was grinding a pick up team in the early parts of Pokémon Sun and found a yellow boi, a shiny spearow!

Luxray’s one of my all-time favorites, so I promised myself years ago that I would hunt it right at the start of the game when sinnoh remakes came out. At about 6000 encounters now without luck. Congrats to you, though, it’s such a pretty shiny!

Congrats! Just got a Shiny Starly on the same route after 2,456 RE's. After that I decided to I snag a Pichu from a friend with Static.. just hit 500 Encounters today. Wish me luck!!

This nostalgia team quest is awesome! But it is sometimes hard to watch your streams, because I live in Finland and your timezone is about 10 hours late. And I have school also.
I also hunted for a shinx on the launch day. Got it after 694 encounters. I only counted shinxes.

I'm considering recreating my Platinum team (which wasn't actually a full team, because I was playing on a borrowed cartridge and I had to give it back shortly after beating Gardenia), but I had a Kadabra that I caught on Route 203 as an Abra, and I'm *terrified* of hunting Abra because it can teleport away.
Not sure which starter you would use, but if you have Chimchar, then Taunt will be very useful to keep Abra from teleporting away :)

I managed to get shiny Shinx within half an hour of booting up Shining Pearl. Complete luck, something like the sixth encounter of the game while I was on route 202. What's even funnier is that it happened after I stopped hunting Regieleki after a few thousand encounters a week earlier.

tbh i wouldve hunted shinx in these games but the community day kinda made that feel redundant, like i got twenty of these things in the span of a day, why should i spend another week looking for another one?

I spent 3 years trying to get a shiny shinx via masuda method. On and off I would quit after 8000 then 17000 and so on. I would get other shinies in between but shinx never shined. Hopefully I can get it with pokeradar because otherwise I don't think I'll ever get that shinx

Dude, pokemon go just had a 6 hour event where shinx has a 1/25 chance to get a shiny. Shinx and more mons will have this in mid December, look it up ;)
i managed a full odds Shinx whilst i was radar chaining for one, had no idea the normal grass patches could be shiny and full odds.

Just got my first Shield shiny, as a bit of a joke
My younger brother was running around in his profile of shield, and found a shiny level 34 araquinid, right before the ghost gym (so he could just barely catch it as it were). But to top it off, it was a square shiny, which was insanity to me, and also at the same time had a adamant nature to make matters better. Suffice to say, I was jealous, and we joking were saying that his Binacle was the reason why. So he continues to play for a while, and im stewing in my jealousy, and make the joke of "hey, let me go to a max raid den, I have a good feeling about today." And I head off for a max raid den, then by a miracle or fate or something, a Barbaracle appeared on the team, and we joke again that if he makes it to the end without getting swapped, that we would get a shiny. Sure enough, cut to the 4th battle against a landorus, hes still kicking, gets knocked out in the last attack, and I get a Shiny Trevenant, granted, not square sparkles, but whatever.

No shinies have shown up just yet, I think I may be cursed. I have reached about double the shiny odds, and my legs have more muscles than machamp’s arms after running over 100,000 steps without rest. At this point, I’ve forgotten about everyone I once knew. Forgot about my parents, my rival whose name is definitely “young clompert”, and that one hiker with 3 machops. Cheryl and that stupid bug catcher kid are my only form of human contact. Please help me.
