    I'm a 2nd-year med student in a non-EU country. I heard that it usually takes 1.5-2years to become a resident in Germany, but what exactly does this period of time represent? Is it the time it takes to study the required exams or is it the time it takes to submit your papers and get them accepted? Assuming I just started learning German and studying for the FSP and Kenntnisprüfung, how long would it take me to become a resident in Germany if I immediately took the FSP and kenntnisprufung after graduation?
    + THANK YOU so much for your videos

    Thanks a lot Doc for this very informative video! 🤯👍👏❤. I'm a Nigerian in my 5th year med school in Ukraine, and Ukraine is not yet in the EU plus as foreigners, we don't get licenced to practice here in Ukraine, so basically after studying here you go home!😆. I just started learning German language 😎😊💃 but I'm curious about a few things and I'd like to know :
    1. Is the "certificate of good standing" just for licenced practicing doctors? Or are fresh graduates (who are not licensed) also entitled to it?
    2. If as a fresh graduate, I should also get this document, who will issue it to me? Is it my school?
    3. To apply for the exam, will I have to start some of the documentation here in Ukraine then apply for the exam from here before going to Germany? Or do I have to be in Germany first to do everything?
    4. If I'd have to be in Germany first before doing anything, what documents would I present to the embassy to show my reason for wanting to travel there?
    5. If I will start the process from here in Ukraine, what kind of visa would I apply for (and get)? Is the visa guaranteed?
    6. If I will start from here, what will be the initial processes?
    Thanks as I await your reply 🙏

    hey there thanx for the video, appretiate it
    i got 2 questions tho:
    you said "i've been learning german for 2 years" and later you said "you will need 6 months of preparation" so how long will it take for me, starting from zero?
    and also, would they consider the number of years/months after graduation in giving you a spot for a specialty or hospital?

    • @EutopianDoctor
      @EutopianDoctor  2 года назад +1

      Starting from zero between 1 and 2 years to perfect the language and prepare for the exam. This is of course an average, you can do it in less if you really try!
      I guess they would consider it if it was a lot. Isatarted working 2 years after graduation and no questions were asked.

    Thanks for the wonderful information! Could you please tell us whether the Regierung requires the documents to be translated by a German court-appointed translator or they can be translated in our home countries? Some agencies ask 500 euros or more for document translations by an official German translator.

    • @EutopianDoctor
      @EutopianDoctor  3 года назад +1

      It has to be an official " court appointed" translator. But there might be one in your country. That the translator is accepted as a "jury translator" in Germany does not mean he/she lives in Germany

      A document that says you are allowed to work as a doctor in the country where you learned medicine and/or worked as a doctor. ( It is a proof that you didn't commit any "medical crime" and you are still allowed to work as a doctor) It is also known as the "certificate of good standing". It is issued by the ministry of health of that country.
      Your university's Dean office should know about it and maybe can redirect you to the right office of the ministry of health.
      Best of luck

    I've watched all your videos and would like to thank you for the detailed information, however, there are still some burning questions that I have. I am currently not living in Germany and would like to apply for the Approbation and also, to search for jobs. How would I go about going to Germany? Would applying for Approbation give me the necessary visa to stay for the FSP? Would I have to apply for a Visum zur Anerkennung ausländischer Berufsqualifikation or Visum zur Arbeitsplatzsuche: „Jobseeker“ ? Would it be better to apply for a Berufserlaubnis first and then apply for Approbation? When I apply for Approbation, how soon must I take the FSP and Kenntnisprüfung (KP)? Though I understand that to apply for a Berufserlaubnis, I would have to score a job first. This is where I am quite worried and unsure on what course of action to take. Honestly, I would like to prepare for the FSP and KP in Germany as I have heard there are preparatory classes available. Also, since I am from Indonesia, a country outside of EU and EEA, I will try to do Anerkennung and perhaps KP. Do you know anything about this process and exam or anyone who does? It would be great if you can make a video of this. Thank you again for your generosity in sharing all these information. All the best!

    • @EutopianDoctor
      @EutopianDoctor  2 года назад

      You catch me off guard when it comes to different visas for not Europeans...
      I suppose it depends on WHEN you want to come:
      After getting the annerkenung and passing the FSP you will recieve a provisory " Beruferlaubnis" that allows you to start working as a Doctor for moreless 2 years until you do the KP and get the final allowance to work in Germany.
      If you dont want to wait until then and want to come before the FSP in order to do courses and prepare for it then as you said then I suppose a " Jobseeker" or working Visa would be a good idea.
