When they announce a new project it is always an exciting moment because they are one of the few companies on earth actually capable of realising some pretty extreme designs. "Esquel" is without a doubt one of the most awe inspiring designs they have every presented, here are a few details you may not have known about this particular project.

I will personally will never own a mega yacht or even a yacht for that matter. But I can appreciate the opportunity to see and enjoy the poor man's experience by watching your channel. You have a unique flow with your words that makes one believe if only for a few seconds that he or she to, might be able to make such a purchase one day. Gives Explorer Yachts a new defination, I would say. I guess a Nordhaven 46 would make a good dingy for the shallow water explorations. As always, a well done video.
Could you imagine having an Explorer yacht and then during the lunch take like two months off and just travel to see Antarctica or like these one-off places that habitable skiing down a glacier on your helicopter that's the kind of stuff that the lottery commercials to be advertising LOL like to see some people truly get the most out of the short time we got on this planet

Everytime I see a Yacht I ask myself why would someone want that and now after watching your videos I'm asking myself "why not?" Although I'm a 100% land lover I could see why a Yacht does appeal those who have that type of money.

I've been subscribed for a couple years, and have really enjoyed every video that I have watched. I have done some foreign travel, but never done any yachting. Now, I am considering purchasing a yacht, as my friends have yachts in Asia. I know I'll see the need to have one here on the east coast or in Europe to travel with. Thanks for the contagious excitement you share with your viewers ... Your passion for your career cannot be measured!

That’s awesome, I feel like as time goes on, things start to shift, like back in the day ppl with money bought stuff like this to show off and for fun. But now it’s changing to something to with purpose, or at least some passion behind it. Kinda like how they have Bentley/lambo trucks now. Even tho they’ll probably never get off roaded you have the option for it, as money young ppl who are successful have the drive do more.
I'm finding myself more and more attracted to yachts.
I always wanted to restore a ww2 or early Cold war destroyer to turn it into explorer. Seems like they would make extremely robust long distance ships. This is my dream. They seem like a far more attractive alternative to modern yatching formats. maybe one day someone will create something that isn’t a modern monstrosity, and flows along classic lines, looking more like Britannia but designed for the Arctic.
Check out Mizu, which has the lines and the speed of a frigate.

Must admit, I fell in love with the 'Alfa Nero' some years back. Would sure love to see a complete walk through of that stella yacht. 'Esquel' is some futuristic and quite the ship. Will be watching for more on this Explorer Yacht! Thanks David! Cheers!
Hi Ken, Alfa Nero is one of the all time greatest superyachts. I had a tour on board a few years ago...a really beautiful yacht!

I was getting comfortable with the idea of a 100 foot yacht when out of nowhere you post a video of a 300+ footer. Now the 100 seems so inadequate I am going to have to dream bigger.
When I buy it I’m going to simply drop anchor just off of Sir Richard Branson's Necker Island & hang out there for a few years.

Even though owning a yacht is way out of my league I do appreciate the elegance engineering and artistry thats goes into them. From what I understand it takes a small fortune to tip crew from just being a guest on one.
Esquel has such dramatic lines that are fully complimented by that striking colour scheme. Usually I dig the more classic stylings in just about everything but this modern vessel is an attention getter. I don't wanna say she has an aggressive appearance and to say intense kinda diminishes the world of relaxation that should go with yachting. How about extraordinary...potent...vigorous...or vehement? I dunno, maybe I need a thesaurus? Heh, heh...How about I just say I like it and it looks wicked frickin' cool?

Dear David! I have recently read about a form of punishment that was used by the old British Navy called keelhauling if I’m not mistaken. This has led me to read up on barnacles on the ships hulls. How big of a problem are they on modern yachts?

God these yachts are beautiful. If I became stinken rich nvm the mansions. I'd buy a yacht with a helicopter on it and have a cargo area for like 1 or 2 cars, couple motorcycles. THAT'S how I'd spend my money, travel the world and live from my boat. 👌

Just a 30 m Explorer yacht is about 20 million.
So there's no way this is only worth 11 million
The submarine that's on board is worth about a million itself....

I wonder if they could incorporate Project Moonstone's exterior LED paneling so she could blend into her environment. Probably not possible with a black hull and I'd certainly be loathe to go with white. Maybe have the whole hull itself be an LED or OLED screen? Maintenance would be an issue though.
The ultimate statement would be to purchase the meteorite itself and make it the centerpiece of the yacht's lobby/atrium.
The lack of a helihangar is a liability and I wonder if the design could be modified to ratify that.
