I've always looked past it bc of the art style (very kiddie). But I kept hearing good things. I saw it at my FLGS and noticed how cheap it was, so I bought it. I haven't played it yet but now you're making me want to get it to the table and dive in!
My wife and i love this game. We have alot of the content. We always play 2 heroes each. We have over 100 plays of it. So much variety and replayability
Marvel United quickly became my go-to best game in my collection. I own all S1 and S2 content, with multiverse coming. The variability in villains is what got me hooked on it. Its been my gateway go-to for anyone new to moderm board games. Its engaging aswell as cooperative, so it makes early coaching/teach a breeze. I'm blown away how much Multiverse will blow the variation and game modes out of the water. I agree, 8.5-9/10 For the ones who think its too "casual" or "easy", removing wilds is a great challenge of its own. But the spiderverse game mode or other variations make the game a very punishing and engaging experience too.
I added this game to my Xmas wishlist on a whim, and I'm so glad I did! It's already top 5 for me. So much to like: simple rules, fast play, tons of variety, works well solo and multiplayer, great theme, my son enjoys it too and excellent minis to paint.
100%. This game is brilliant, and the variability is so high. The theme is also really evocative for how light it is, but the ease of play doesn't limit the depth of choices, especially on the harder difficulties and bosses. And I just keep bringing it out again and again. Any game that gets to the table is worth infinite games that stay on the shelf for years because you need to relearn them every time.
It definitely has a thing where the game kinda unexpectedly blossoms the more you play it. The system is very simple, and really feels like it at first blush, but for some reason as you play more and more of it the cooler it seems to become. And the new wave of boxes coming to retail finally means there will be a very wide breadth of content available to people beyond those who backed on kickstarter.
So I got the core set when it originally came to walmart. I thought it was really good. Then I got all of S1's Kickstarter content. I ended up getting rid of some of the dumb characters (spiderham, beta ray bill, yondu etc), but the game hit my top 5. Just the plug and play of the heroes, villains, locations and challenges made it feel so fresh solo and in groups. Then S2 came... super villain mode, the roster increases just made it hit my #1 of all time above even Ark Nova. The game is perfect and all my painted figures make me love it even more.
Enjoyed this! I am a Marvel Champions player but Untied has been catching my attention… I’m worried that if I want it all though, is it locked behind Kickstarter exclusives?? I agree with Champions set up (and play) time gets too long for some seasons of life. But I don’t feel like the extra content makes me play less since it’s just options.
Definitely rated the game around a 6 after a few plays of the core box. Decided to buy some additional stuff 2 years later, and it's seeing a ton of plays.
The x-men kickstarter got me into the hobby. I’ve got about 4 games now but I’ll pretty much buy united for as long as it goes. So quick, so fun, so easy to play.
The problem now with this game is that it isn't actually cheap. It is 30€ for the expansion. I do like the plug and play setup of this game. I hate that they didn't add some bags for all the tokens. I don't see how an expansion makes the core game better, can you elaborate further on it? Maybe it is too simple and that's why I don't love it. I like it, but I don't love it like other co-op games like Pandemic.
this game bonkers rocks buy the base prof Xavier Vs Magneto game + Guadians of the Galaxy Remix and Asgard expansion sets if u want black panther too thats all you re set for eternity
It's hardly a game. Played it for the 3rd time this weekend and was bored out of my mind. You have 3/4 cards (sometimes less) with 2 or 3 symbols on them. It's not a game.
@@TheBoardMeeting of course not, I loathed the base box, so why would I continue to play more?? I have been board gaming for over 30 years and one thing I have learned is if you don't like a game, Don't try to find a reason to like the game, just go play one of the thousands upon thousands of other games that you do like or that come out every year. There is zero reason to waste time on trying to like a game or hoping someone can convince you to like a game that you do not.

I completely agree with everything you said here. It is one of my favorite games.

The minis in this game have made me want to start painting again

Got the core base, scared I'm gonna like it as much as you say - cut to me buying everything Marvel United 💸💸💸

We play a fanmade Legacy campaign available on BGG and it's amazing.. ;) I also absolutely love these minis and painting them.
I love this game so much! Awesome art and a very versatile system.
Had to leave a like for the jersey you are wearing. First video on the game I looked up, and it sounds fun.

I actually have not played the super villain mode. Might have to check it out now
Being the super villain as the family or friends try to take me down is something special!@@TheBoardMeeting

this game got me into board games and I own nearly every expansion
If you prefer the star wars theme the star wars clone wars is somewhat similar, but in a pandemic-lite system.
I do enjoy that game quite a bit. Was really hoping they would've supported it more with an expansion.

Best game of all time
And minis...and painting...and superheroes...

I loathe this game. I find it to not be thematic at all and way too basic
Not every game is for everybody. I am curious, have you played more than just the the original core box?
