The question is; did they try to make a better overdrive-boost Nuno-style, or a better Distortion-preamp like Steve Stevens use it? Or an articulate Fuzz à la Elliot Easton? I'd say you really get a thicker, more aggressive tone than what's possible with the SD1 or TS, but less screech than the RAT :P
The rat gives a nice aggressive screech attack to my lower gain JVM channels no matter what clone of rat I use but I also like the idea of this pedal with that smooth low gain change and the switch is a great option. That lower gain change annoys me so this pedal fixes that problem, well done.
Great work! Would love to see you do a video on the Timmy pedal someday. Legend has it that Paul C developed the Tim/Timmy to boost Marshalls. The low/high cut controls seem out of place to many players used to running ODs into clean amps, but they make perfect sense to get rid of mud and fizz boosting a driven amp. And the 'flat/transparent' midrange leaves the beautiful Marshall midrange intact

They all have a different flavour but to me SD1 is hard to beat.
