I think one of the biggest strengths with Hogwarts legacy is that it holds things back from the player until hours and hours later. You could be 20+ hours into the game and it will still be showing you new mechanics.
Yes. Im 20 hours in and I still feel like there's more new stuff waiting just around the corner. It's absolutely brilliant for the first playthrough and to keep you hooked, but I'm not too sure how good is it going to be on second / third playthrough as it might get a little annoying to wait for so long to unlock for example mounts. I'm not saying its going to be wrong / bad, I'm just not sure yet.
I like it when games allow you to learn at your own pace, but, unless it's a FromSoft game, it can make the game way too easy early on, so I prefer the route Hogwarts Legacy has chosen to take this.
How to be OP in Hogwarts Legacy Step One: Go to the Herbology area and collect some Venomous Tentacula Step 2: Purchase the Venomous Tentacula trait once you hit 22. Step 3: Deploy 2 of them at the onset of any hard battle Congrats, you are now OP.

@@XManium I don't have the talent for it, so maybe that's why it seems a bit lackluster. Not bad mind you, but only ticks for around 100-120 damage. Confringo hits for 1,200 on initial hit. Of course I do have Concentration 3 on all my armor, so that's a massive boost to all offensive spells.
I really appreciate this video. I had this annoying question regarding the exp gains and whether you get more if you do harder content but finding out that the exp is the same regardless of difficulty really is good to know at last.
I have made great use of Accio and Incendio since being able to pull 2-3 enemies and then burning them makes some fights go a lot faster. Also if possible sneak up and Petrificus Totalus can get rid of some enemies before you have to start slinging spells. I do recommend sticking to the main quest line up to Jackdaw's Tomb since that will open up the Talent tree. I have had characters who were nearly level 20 before completing this and well some fights were tougher then they needed to be.

I find it interesting that you are 8 short on mastering all the talents but there is 10 in the Dark Arts tree so a base game player will I think have 2 extra. Not that I think base players exist for only a 10 buck difference
Talents unlock at about 50% through the story, this is not early on. Kind of ridiculous that stuff that are main points of the game don't unlock until 50% or further in the main story.
@@LegacyGamingUS Ok so it wasn't 50% but it was mission 23 of 52 which is just shy of 50% through the main story. Talents unlock during the mission to find Jack's body which is mission 23 of 52. So no it is not 1/4 of the main story. Then Room of Requirements is 26 of 52. I'm missions 27 and I'm still not able to get monsters. It is a tad ridiculous that one has to do more than 50% of the story before you're able to do everything. The story is not very long at all.
I'm confused. I've only gotten like 4 hours into the game but I'm already level 27 and barely progressed the main story and haven't explored that much, other than the school. Why is it that every person putting out guides only seems to be in the low 20's?
The ONLY way you could have done this, is by doing the Battle Arenas. I have put over 17 hours into the game, have advanced the MSQ to 'fall' season, have explored a lot of the open world, etc... and am at only level 23.
@ADarklore idk. I replied to your other comment about this. Idk if it was from things giving a lot of xp or what before the game day release but I leveled extremely fast. I didn't even have my talent menu until 30
One of the cons of the game is that the combat is way too easy, even on hard. Barely used health potions and never died on my playthrough and I'm not particularly good.
So far it seems like to advance and or finish the game I will have to do things I have no interest in doing like anything with the room of requirement. Have no real desire to do combat. Just want to explore and take the classes.
I honestly wish they didn't tie XP to 'challenges'. It really makes grinding levels impossible... you basically have to focus on doing puzzles, doing quests and other challenges instead of just farming mobs for XP. Although, there is also another way to get OP early, and here's how I did it... I play on STORY mode!! :)
The combat is NOT difficult. I am doing a run with no gear and no wiggenweld healing allowed on hard difficulty. The only thing I foresee being an issue is the final boss

@@terrytaylor1732 The game and literally everyone else calls you a fifth year. You're known as the fifth year, and you take fifth year classes and you're in the fifth year room lol. When you skip school years in real life you're known as the grade you are in, not the ones you skipped. You can accept being wrong instead of trying to improperly rationalize it.
@@oksuree True. The game is really easy on normal for me and I can do fights without being hit virtually all the time (except for trolls since the game teleports them to me when i dodge their attack chain which is annoying as hell).
Hello, i got bugged the talents, when i try to click some of the talents it looks like its ignoring my mouse, pls help!
Really a shame they limit equipped spells per row to 4 on PC. It should have been higher but it is a console port unfortunately
Its 4 for everyone
You get extra spell sheets in your traits 👍
@@ch3micalromanc369 Would be nice to be able to bind any spell to any key tho, like in mmos. With my razer naga i would have 12 spells just on my mouse, it would be amazing.
@@ch3micalromanc369 I know but it is kinda stupid to limit them to 4 when keyboard can have 1 to 0 row.
I find it interesting that you are 8 short on mastering all the talents but there is 10 in the Dark Arts tree so a base game player will I think have 2 extra. Not that I think base players exist for only a 10 buck difference
Basically, youre not gonna be reaching anything close to OP until you can start catching and using creatures and have a loom.
I felt bad wasting Solomon Sallow in the catacomb 😂
That moment when you are 3 achievements away from 100%ing but watch anyway ^^
*Legacy Gaming* : "No amount of gear or talents is ever gonna replace hard work"
*Moonveil Katana & ROB spammers* : 😂😂😂😂😂
Im exploring too much i just unlocked talents at level 16 😭
I cast “Ridiculous”! Just put it on Story Mode and walah! You cast “Stupido”, and put it on Hard Mode.
"If you appreciate guides that get straight to the point" @ 7:44 = irony
you level up fast XD
Unforgivable III talent on all gear is the only thing u need to get OP
What does it do
@@jjmmm515 increased damage on cursed targets, it increases a metric ton
@@Siimon2490it’s good but it scales lower than specific spell traits
@@majendidthat but it does increase dmg from Ur ultimate ancient magick and basic casts
Have you tried this? How about combining it by getting a few traits for one specific spell too
Talents unlock at about 50% through the story, this is not early on. Kind of ridiculous that stuff that are main points of the game don't unlock until 50% or further in the main story.
Talents unlock like 1/4 of the way through
@@LegacyGamingUS Ok so it wasn't 50% but it was mission 23 of 52 which is just shy of 50% through the main story.
I sundvjet you don’t help girt for Take house points be waer
Time to clean up that background Kodiak :)
Dude I know it’s getting insane. That’s what happens when you’re a dad creator lol
@@LegacyGamingUS Dad here too brother, I feel yeah! You guys are almost ready for that studio look with the amount of sub you got, Keep at it!
Repet of spells. R concern some ashion
Get overpowered early.. put on story mode... Got.. it....
Let me guess get all unforgivable skills
Nopeeeee
I'm confused. I've only gotten like 4 hours into the game but I'm already level 27 and barely progressed the main story and haven't explored that much, other than the school. Why is it that every person putting out guides only seems to be in the low 20's?
Bro that’s what I’m saying!! These guys are speedrunning lol
@@arlessbad I think all the RUclipsrs are speed running the main quest
Dudes making how to get op videos on games that are single player and just came out😭
HL challenging? Lol
being op in hard mode is boring, dont do it
This is not an “early” video. Talents are not unlocked until 1/2 way through the main quests.
talents are not unlocked 1/2 way though the game dude
You’re just starting to figure the ancient magic stuff out when you get talents.
It's definitely not half way through the main quests. It's well under the first 1/4 of the story.
@@LegacyGamingUS talents are like 5-10 hrs in after doing nothing
As others have said... you don't even reach the 'fall' season before Talents unlock... you still have fall, spring and summer MSQ's left to do.
in 2023 you eigther have all specs or are able to respec this is a huggeee downgrade like what did they think sharing one braincell?
uhm I personally would not call this an RPG but thanks for the tips!
OP makes shit less fun
Game is to easy even on hard. I'm 34 hours into the game on hard I've died twice. Needs new game plus with ultra hard mode.
Remember - only pirate this game!
🤣🤣
The combat is NOT difficult. I am doing a run with no gear and no wiggenweld healing allowed on hard difficulty. The only thing I foresee being an issue is the final boss
