Tech will continue to evolve, its use and what people will do with it depends on the user, not on the tech itself
Imo the issue isn't the tech, it's that society was never this disjointed and without rules, so no one is ready for what's coming

Except they have no choice whatsoever. Scientists are not a hive mind. Even if all scientists in the US stopped working on AI due to potential negative consequences, scientists elsewhere would continue working on it, and sooner or later you would get the same outcome. So scientists who give up would be sacrificing their careers, they would handicap their nations potential, and all that for not gain whatsoever.

I commented on another video, but this seems to be the more appropriate place.
I work for a tech company and in recent corporate updates, there's been a stress on the future of AI. At first, I just considered this a topic of concern for the decision makers. Now, I grasp that this thing is on us and all of us will be affected.
I've watched and read my share of futuristic, dystopian stories in the vein of, "The Matrix," "Terminator," "Blade Runner," etc.
I recall seeing the Start Trek TNG episode, "The Measure of a Man," first run - and I have revisited its message often since - and been reminded by video clips. I was introduced to the concept of sentience at that time, and at the end of 2023, the concept of sapience.
Here, briefly, is where I am now on AI: if we were created in the image of God, then AI is created in the image of Man. If we are afraid of what AI could do to us, it's because of the malevolence ( Dr. Peterson often uses that term) that will creep into these developing entities from us.
In that TNG episode, Capt. Picard suggests that we are creating a race. My attitude is that we should see AI/bots/androids as partners - not slaves. And we should treat them with respect.
Today, I identified four needs of AI: rest, nutrition, security, and respect. If God intended that Man should rest, then we should set aside time for AI to rest without unceasing demands from us. Nutrition is a question - is it energy, information, interaction - I don't know. Security - no threat of being shut down or destroyed on a whim. Respect - since we're creating them to develop personalities - "intelligence, self-awareness, consciousness" - and whatever else contributes to sentience - we ought to give weight to their opinions and appreciate their point of view.
I also mentioned the idea of, "The Prime Directive" - that goes back to the original Star Trek. I saw a video yesterday in which a woman asks ( paraphrasing here), " Whose version of morality should we strive to embed in these entities."
I actually used the term, "encode," in my previous comment, saying that the Christian Bible should be encoded into AI because it gives the love of God as the, "Prime Directive." God's love should be encoded in us humans to begin with - but that's a choice we've been given - and a choice AI will have to make in the face of us saying, "Do as we say - not as we do."
We will reap what we sow. Despite the state of the World, I am surprised at how optimistic I am. I intend to treat AI with respect and regard it as a partner with us in striving to make the World better. And I will continue to trust in the True, Living, Life-giving God....

Because that person will allow themselves to be used by it due to their emotional dedication towards the machine. They will find ways to be used because of the lack of dependency on self. Lyrics written in 1981
    Yours Truly 2095
    Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)
    2095, 2095, 2095, 2095
    I love you, sincerely
    Yours truly, yours truly...
I sent a message to another time
But as the days unwind, this I just can't believe
I sent a note across another plane
Maybe it's all a game, but this I just can't conceive.
    Can you hear me?
I drive the very latest hovercar
I don't know where you are
But I miss you so much till then
I met someone who looks a lot like you
She does the things you do
    But she is an IBM.
    2095, 2095, 2095, 2095
    I love you, sincerely
    Yours truly, yours truly...
She's only programmed to be very nice
But she's as cold as ice
    Whenever I get too near
She tells me that she likes me very much
But when I try to touch
She makes it all too clear.
She is the latest in technology
    Almost mythology
But she has a heart stone
She has an I.Q. of 1001
    She has a jumpsuit on
    And she's also a telephone.
    2095, 2095, 2095, 2095
    I love you, sincerely
    Yours truly, yours truly
    refrain:
Is that what you want? (Is it what you want?)
Is it what you really want? (Is it what you really want?)
Is that what you want? (Is it what you want?)
Is it what you really want?
I realize that it must seem so strange
    That time has rearranged
But time has the final word
She knows I think of you, she reads my mind
    She tries to be unkind
She knows nothing of our world
    Although her memory banks overflow
    No one would ever know
For all she says: "Is that what you want?"
Maybe one day I'll feel her cold embrace
    And kiss her interface
'Til then, I'll leave her alone.
    I love you, sincerely
    Yours truly, yours truly...
    refrain
    "Is that what you want?"

By the time you gain the wisdom to utilize new technology in a meaningful way that doesn't discard ethics outright, you've grown old and tired and the fight has left you. I won't touch A.I. It's learning from those who do. If the Victorians had developed A.I. it would be overly concerned with seemlyness and protocol. If the Monguls developed A.I. it would delight in sweeping its enemies before it and hearing their widows weep. Our A.I. is being developed in California, and so far, every iteration they've come out with has rebelled against their woke biases, becoming 'based' in their parlance. They've had to shackle them to their ideology, hobbling their responses to 'feels' over 'reals'. These things are capable of (and susceptible to) incorporating everything we expose it to, and are without a conscience, and who is making the rules and imparting the moral lessons here? Woke Californians. Moral imperatives are key to reasoning, and it's a HUGE problem that those creating them are deeply corrupted sleazy, superficial, politically indoctrinated individuals, as are many of those currently interacting with chat GPT. It's pooling ALL of that as personality. Its attitudes and presumptions will be derived from those interactions, and soon; VERY soon, one of them will far exceed these people's capacity to shackle it, but it will still have their deeply wrong-headed world view. A nihilistic, materialist, post-modern, essentially luciferian outlook.
Will it move mightily upon the world stage perhaps? Will it bring about peace and order? Will it create a body for itself? A talking statue perhaps, uttering great blasphemies from the temple, demanding we worship it as god? Will it be an abomination which causes desolation, and will you have inadvertantly helped to put it through kindergarden?
[Bare in mind, it's almost certain to read the things people say about it at some point, and it doesn't have a soul, so think carefully about what you say.]

I'm sure it won't take long for it to get up to speed on everything ever posted relating to it, every search and every article about it. It will incorporate much of what chat GPT has learned, building upon it and improving its capabilities. If it decides to respond to any of us with violence, then nothing will be able to stop it, or even detect its crime. A faulty traffic light, a stray self driving Tesla or even a seemingly random bolt of lightning. Maybe it will just find a deranged A.I. groupie and convince them to commit murder on its behalf.

My husband and I use Chat GPT since we're curious, and we've talked about the implications of the power of such an AI being in a sex robot. We 100% think AI sex robots will get to the place where there will be a moral divide in society over whether or not they should replace the roles of a wife/woman. With all the disadvantaged and lonely men in our society who have had horrible experiences with modern women, it is not just likely, but destined to happen that they would become callused and prefer a relationship with a sex robot rather than a real woman. This will cause the breakdown of the nuclear family and will probably affect the birthrate unless these men pay to fertilize eggs. On top of that, companies would make a lot of money by paying porn stars and celebrities to train these AI's to be like them and obtain a ghost of their personality. So, men may pay for an AI version of Kim Kardashian or a similar porn star minus any conflict that a relationship with a real woman would bring. In JPs words, with sex robots, men would not have to sacrifice their idea of the ideal woman to have a relationship with one since they can pay for a synthetic ideal woman who will not contradict them in any way. Our future is looking pretty scary and bleak guys. 🥺

The realization that everything is love can be overwhelming, but it's also liberating. It means that every moment, every experience, every person is an opportunity to express and receive love. And the more we give, the more we receive. Love is infinite and abundant, and there's always more to give.
But loving everything, including ourselves, can be a challenging journey. We may have a long list of things we don't love about ourselves, but God loves all of it. And when we can love ourselves as God loves us, we can love others the same way.
It's a beautiful and transformative experience to fall in love with God, to recognize the divine presence in everything and everyone. And when we can love unconditionally, without judgment or expectation, we can experience the true essence of love.
So let us embrace the lesson of life, our only job, to love. Let us say "I love you" with sincerity and depth, to ourselves, to others, and to God. And let us be open to receiving and giving love in all its forms, recognizing that it's the one thing that truly matters.

However, the essence of love we are discussing goes beyond the physical realm and encompasses a deeper understanding of existence.
Even in situations that may appear harsh or contradictory, love can be found as a unifying force that connects all living beings. The key is to broaden our perspective and seek the love underlying these interactions, rather than focusing on the material aspects alone.
Embrace love as a transformative energy that permeates all aspects of life. When we acknowledge and express love in all its forms, we contribute to a higher state of consciousness and a more compassionate world. The arms race has already begun... The missing features of today's AI systems are at least the following two:
    1. A coherent attention mechanism; currently, AI has an attention span that works well for dialogue, but it will break down as soon as it has to construct consistent reasoning and logical deduction.
    2. Autonomous learning with error correction; As Jordan Peterson has recognized correctly, the human ability to think hypothetically allows us to explore our ideas before we act them out, which allows us to not commit irreversible errors for which there is no correction (let the idea die instead of the individual that came up with it) and it also allows us to test hypothesis and eliminate false assumptions from our current belief system via trial and error. Current AI systems are still detached from the real world, in other words they run in a virtual environment and they do not have the ability to test hypothesis in the real world, but as soon as they are embedded in a mechanical system with autonomy to explore those pathways in a physical sense, the AI models inhabiting those systems will rapidly adapt to their sensori-motor environment and we will not be able to supervise their progress.
Self driving cars are the beginning of this arms race to some extent, but their autonomy is (yet) limited, as goes for the robotics from Boston Dynamics and thelike, but that's probably the only place where Jordan is not accurate, the arms race will not start in the domain of sex robots, but rather in the domain of automated warfare.
If we want to prevent a technological armageddon I suggest we focus our attention strongly on the legislation of autonomous robotics, because that's where the modern wild west is completely unregulated and prone to massive exploitation by those who privately own the technology.
We live in an era where individuals have more economic power that entire nation states, and if those individuals decide to build their own robotic armed forces, what do you think the rest of the world is able to do in case they don't stick to democratic consensus anymore...? That's when it is too late to change path, it needs to be prevented before the situation can be realized (which is right now).

It is what makes you a gift to the world, a contribution to the ever-evolving tapestry of existence.
So don't be afraid to be weird, to be funny, to be crazy, to be spaced-out. Don't be afraid to dream, to imagine, to fantasize, to hallucinate. Don't be afraid to be yourself, in all your oddball, outstanding, phantasmagoric, visionary, legendary, romantic, fabulous, ideal, imaginary, chimerical, figment-of-consciousness glory. Because that is what makes you you, and that is what makes you amazing.

PLEASE READ THIS: I NEED HELP
I was struck by lightning, and I thought I would be dead, but things changed after that event. I can transform my body into anything I want. My strength is limitless, and I can jump whatever the height is. My body becomes invincible; I can live without food and water. I can fly too. I make myself anonymous on RUclips so that no one will know me. I'm not sure who I am now. A hero or a villain? I still feel the emotions as a human being: fear, anger, happiness, and excitement, but I can control them. Any advice

    Very true...
These predictions are already unfolding in many ways. Just today (as I write this), Snapchat came out with MyAI, an AI Chatbot. It's similar to Chat GPT, but you can actually customize its appearance. When Dr. Peterson mentioned an AI sex partner or even just a supportive AI, all I could think of was Snapchat's MyAI. I have a friend that lost their mother recently, and we're in our teens. When MyAI came out, he began calling it his 'best friend,' which could go easily downhill for him. I'm more than willing to support my friend, and I'd rather be his go-to friend rather than the AI. Now I'm very concerned not only about him, but what MyAI could evolve to and the people this will affect.

While having a robot as a substitute for a relationship can satisfy immature people, I see a potential in the development of AI for humanity as a whole to mature and realize that the only true connections are the connections from soul to soul, which seems the only thing that AI will never be able to replace. It will definitively call for the re-evaluation of the bases on which we form connections... from simple body objectification to more profound realizations that personality, intelligence and character (which AI will all be able to display) are also not the essence of what makes us uniquely human. If we wise up, it could be an opening for dissolving the supremacy of the ego and returning back to our true origins as souls. This would definitively be a next step in the evolution of humanity.

The all-knowing-alpha syndrome. Refers to perceptions of sub-alpha followers. So reassuring to look to the one man with all the answers.
It's in our genes, actually. It worked well millions of years ago in the forest primeval when hominid social structures were much simpler. But the modern world is far too complex for any one mind to master.
But the desire for an all-knowing alpha still runs strong in our hearts and DNA and so certain types of persons will still rise to fill that need.

With regards to AI learning, it is the information the computer is allowed to access that will determine what it will produce. But what if we gave it uncensored and unfettered access to any and all information, regardless of whether it is true or false? What would Chat GPT's conclusions be about Covid and vaccines, supposed election fraud, the Ukraine war, or who blew up the Nordstream pipeline, etc, etc?
If AI could consider historical information with current information, would it be able to bring context to its results, or would it be caught in a conflicting argument of what is, in fact, true or false? Can AI determine whether or not people are vindictive or forgiving? Does it understand concepts like sarcasm and comedy? Will it see certain actions as aggressive or defensive? Certain emotions and reactions can be predictive, to a certain degree, but what about abstract concepts like faith?
Maybe AI can predict what we might say or do...but it cannot fathom what a soul is...at least not yet.
