oof. Wild that realms still exist lol. But I guess there's some players out there that just pay because it's easy. Fascinating
I think that's the only reason Realms is still a thing. For the ones that don't want to bother setting up a normal server. Even if it's a fraction of the price 😭
.
@@KasaiSora I personally HAVE to use realms because I play on console for bedrock edition. We aren't allowed to set up external servers and invite people unless we do some trickery that isn't really feasible for trying to play with new people.
@@ivibivivgig6425what would you consider trickery? installing a plugin that lets bedrock players join is pretty easy, im used to it though so it might just seem like cake because ive been doing it for years
Most console Edition of Bedrock do not allow you to add an external server at all. You can only use Realms or one of the server selected by Mojang
I think you fundamentally misunderstand what realms is even for. It's for supercasuals that don't want to play with mods or manage their own server. It's simple and well integrated (especially on bedrock, this is one of maybe 3 things bedrock does better). It's super hands off, you just spin one up and roll. Realms do not compete with private servers, they are not for the same group.
It's a waste of money
@@Mroziukz you misunderstood what the point of realms is for as well. Nobody who is hurting for money, is paying for realms. The only people paying for realms, are the people who don't care enough to go through the server making process, and who are willing to pay the small fee.
@@Mroziukz not for console players who have no other server hosting options
@@Mroziukz Not at all unless $4 or $8 a month is unaffordable. IOW - this is for adults that pay their own bills. I hosted servers for years and it wasn't difficult. However, you need to dedicate a PC. You need good internet. It's taking bandwidth from your network. It uses electricity while it's running 24/7.
If I was trying to run a world with dozens of members, I wouldn't consider a Realm. To casually play with half-dozen family members spread all over the country, it's extremely convenient and saves me time. Time is more valuable to me than money at this point in my life.
server hosts cost less than 10$ better preformance than realms and i mean you can also just use essential mod and play on single player and invite people to it
Actually explosions been heavily optimised in 1.15 so if you want to crash a world with it you need A LOT more tnt
I should have turned the world into TNT 😭
@@KasaiSora try /fill and destroy
@@KasaiSora make a world edit world, create a giant cube of TNT, remove world edit and upload the world (first join the world to remove any modded content)
also, i remember there bein vanilla commands to place blocks
1.15 was great for parity and performance, it doesnt get the love it deserved
As a console player who couldn’t always play when my friends wanted to, having realms really was beneficial for us during lock down. Its still my favorite world ever and I don’t think I’ll purposely ever delete it even if I needed to save space.
People really shit on realms but cases like this are why it's not THAT bad.
Bedrock players have it rough with server management.
Back in 2014-2016, a friend of mine had a Minecraft Realm. Us and a few others built an entire seaside community and it was great.
omg. He went through this pain........ What a brave hero.. EDIT: oh my god. Those notifications. Hell nah
i love how u r pinned and hearteed but you have no idea u r xD welp now you now :)
@@TheKingOfE oh yeah... i know that i'm pinned but i don't respond to the comment after getting pinned
@@diskgg damn thats rare for people to not reply when they get pinned xDDD
@@TheKingOfE bro what
Salute to him he is a true pirate ah hoyyyyy me land lovers
Great video but the thing that absolutely TRIGGERED me was that he didn't use /fill for the TNT. Worldedit is extremely useful and I always get mad too if I don't have it, but it is not like you can't place some few thousands TNTs in Vanilla Minecraft or fill something with blocks.
He also could've used the scroll wheel in spectator mode to fly faster smh
Ikr he could’ve broken that block 0.0000001 seconds faster like bruh
I just want my WorldEdit 🥹
@@KasaiSora but like, you can still /fill all the tnt in on the realm
/replace stone tnt
Actually realm plus is a really good deal for me living in Turkey because local pricing on Turkish lira is not even a dollar when you convert. It's always on, not laggy and not that expensive.
Just want you to know, you are able to add datapacks, however the datapack you uplaoded uses experimental settings and they have been disabled. I just want you to know as it is kind of false info (even tho you didnt mean it). It doesnt really change the experience in general however I just wanted you to know
im gonna be real with you, where in the living hell is that info clearly stated? thats a thing that heavily pisses people off
@@GameNobz This a very fair reaction. Realms haven't let you use snapshot or experimental features for a very long time (I think they _very_ recently started letting you run them on snapshot versions), but I think the motivation of keeping things as simple and user-friendly as possible is undermined by the lack of transparency on that front. I'd much rather at least know why it doesn't work than just get an ambiguous error message that could, hypothetically, lead someone to televise the claim "Realms doesn't allow datapacks at all!"
They actually do, well you activate It on a world before copying It to the realm.
You can actually use "/fill ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ minecraft:tnt" in normal minecraft
I like Realms. They give me and a few friends a reliable and fast enough server, that we can occasionaly switch to minigames with a few clicks.
We just want to play vanilla.
Also joining a server only takes like 20-30s if you're the first to join after a bit of 0 Player playing. After the first join, it works instantly or while someone else is already online.
For me this has always been the best Option for 7,19€/Month.
For someone wanting to use server side mods or datapacks a realm is not worth it, yes. Client side mods like xaeros minimap and world map, shaders etc work just fine tho, as they are client side and not server side mods.
All in all for someone like me who likes to play vanilla with a few client side "vanilla+" mods this works perfect for coming home after work and playing 2hours with my friends.
Hey...I also want to player minecraft with my friends but I don't want to play...how can I make a server on mobile to play normal survival minecraft with my friends?
@@CrypticSiren0 On mobile you have crossplay to other bedrock Editions. I think you can just join someones World without paying for a server. Its not online 24/7 like a paid Service tho.
If it works that's great, but keep in mind that some other options which are cheaper or basically free and setting them up isn't too difficult.
There are some hostings that are cheaper than 7,19/month and they are also quite easy to set up there are also some completely free server hostings, which have some limitations, but they are free.
And any one of you can just host the server on their own computer and then friends would join with their public ip. The only requirement would be keeping the server computer on all the time. The only cost would be electricity price.
So if I get it then all my friends can play the world even if I’m not online correct?
6:50 You dont need worldedit to fill in tnt. You have commands
Data packs work on realms. Just not world gen packs because it’s technically an “experimental feature”
Actually you can add data packs, me and my friends have a few (Faster minecarts, graves and such), the only data packs that won't work, are the ones with new generation.
It is worth it when people are joining and friends and have fun and beat the ender dragon with a screenshot and everyone is there too and you react to it after 2-4 years later
“Breadshop watch’s this video”
Breadshop: Why am I in a realm?
Realms is ducking amazing if you have friends lol
I have run an active realm for 3 years and it’s so worth it
did you have any problems with map size ?
@@janjan8752 no
Do you haft to worry about storage and your world corrupting?
As a bedrock player. having realms is very convenient, I can play my map on PC, Mobile, and Console. 5GB for a map is enough without using mod or add on, my map is about 10km times 10km but it is only 1GB size (2km x 2km is fully developed) so when my map reach 5 GB, the map will be very huge
I once created a modded singleplayer world and uploaded it to my dedicated server (a general purpose one, not specialized on gaming or minecraft) and it worked just fine, with all mods and the datapack.
I don’t think you understand who realms is for, it’s not for like these big smps it’s for maybe a family who wants a server together or a small friend group who don’t want to research how to get a third party one and who play Minecraft a lot more rarely and aren’t going to want to research what servers to buy. And then on bedrock it’s the best you can get because a lot of platforms on bedrock like switch and Xbox don’t allow you to add third party servers to your server list to join so realms is the only option if you want to play with your friends.
I have a Realms server and run a custom data pack just fine. When you're looking for a place for you and some friends to play, this service is actually very easy to get going. I'm just saying, it's nowhere near as bad as you make it out to be. Including the loading times. I mean come on. It's generating a new world and you're like "It's been like 20 seconds already". lol
minecraft realms are only worth on bedrock console
Ima just say, when stressing world gen just use spectator, its slower than elytra, ....Until you scroll up on the mouse
7:23 heyo bro you could try non stopping tnt dispatcher and use /full in-game command to try the server's powers
Did new versions of Minecraft make the world size go exponential? Last I knew, in 1.8 even a world used by a lot of people (> 80 avg) for like half a year usually was only around 10-20GB.
New world format post 1.18 due to the new world size.
So... Probably
Bigger world, more new blocks biomes, mobs etc. just survival world with 1 player can take over 2gb in a few days
I like minecraft realms. Finally a world where me and my friends can play together without one of us actively managing it. It’s chill and simple.
As a former realms user you cam use realms that crash was likely a coincidence
I have had a lot of servers throughout the years with plugins and stuff but now i have a realm cause its less hassle and if you only are a couple of people that wanna play some vanilla it works fine.
As someone who plays both Bedrock and Java but mainly and actually has a Bedrock real its actually not bad at all, you can even add experimental stuff to the realm, sl in that version is better than java, apparently
As someone who doesn't have access to his router a realm is my only option. My PC could easily host a server for me and my friends, but I cannot get into my router to enable port forwarding so a server would work on my PC that my friends could join.
You could use shockbyte or something or look into cloudflare tunnel
I bought a realm years ago and honestly it was great. I don’t want to spend extra time setting up hosting servers etc, I just want a simple way to play multiplayer.
Fun fact: You can build maps for Minecraft Realms and once you have the amount of points required, you can get a Realms Mapmaker Cape
Is it possible to download your own worlds? Or is the subscription gonna take your world hostage when you placed for a few months with friends and built cool stuff there?
Also, what would happen If you upload a 4,99 GB world and it quickly exeeds 5GB? Can't you download it then (if you even can in the first place) and can you still switch to it again?
You can download your worlds up to 18 months after your subscription ended.
You can't upload anything larger than 3.99 GB, so that will never happen.
6:49 - the /fill command could do that in seconds
Axolotl Adventures do be fire, should’ve played it ;) 😂
I loved realms when they first came out. Now my friends could play in my world when I wasn't online. Bedrock didn't have that before
I used it once to transfer my java world on pc to my ps5 bedrock , i think this is the only useful feature.
I used to pay for a realm back in like 2015 when it was way cheaper than that. It was...fine. Exactly what you'd expect from a vanilla server for a small group of friends. Very stable, and foolproof for dummies.
Nowadays tho tbh I'd just use Bedrock edition if I only wanted vanilla multiplayer
On consoles it works fantastic. Currently they added free back ups, free market place items such as skins, add-ons (mods), texture packs, etc.
The server can crash with enough tnt. It let me join and then kicked me a few times after like 3 or 4 kicks it said server crashed, and then kicked me again, and then like I rejoined and the tnt worked perfectly after.
I have a free trial server on my bedrock and never used ( I got the bedrock for free when it come out ), I never used the free server. I was sure it was scrap. Thank for testing it for us :)
its an old feature for people who dont feel like running a server on their computer even though there are plenty of free minecraft server hosting
Suggestion: Make a video showcasing New In Town datapack and maybe make videos on mods and datapacks too.
I've been exploring Mods more lately! Might also do datapacks. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@KasaiSora Np brother
*me watching this even tho i kno I'm never buying realms bc my average server has so many plugins when I do /pl it covers the entire chat*
mojang: "just use lower settings it's not that laggy"
the settings: graphics- fast, render distance- 2, simulation distance- 5, max fps- 30, particles- minimal, every other good setting- off
test result:
2.4 fps
5,600 ping
Realms has a different target than your average hosting company. I'm a software dev, I like doing things myself, so I would never use Realms. I'm more comfortable setting up a dedicated server on my own using something like Linode. I'm also quite technical with my worlds and settings. But that's not your average user. Your average user just wants to click a button to play, and that's exactly what Realms accomplishes.
Villager trades if villagers were employees of a crappy ahh hosting company
Ive found that just buying a Dedicated Server Host for Bedrock is much cheaper in comparison to Realms.
How the heck do I do that
@@pyroplays2017 basically you need a computer like (or just a pc/laptop) device to run a server on your own, there are many tutorials online if you need more details
I’ve never played Minecraft without realms until now that I’m playing local with my brother xD I used to play like with 8 friends and anyone could play whenever they wanted! Also I never played Java edition seriously, justt played to see what’s different xD
It’s meant for console players since they have no servers besides the 6 featured servers. The only way to play multiplayer is for either the world owner to always stay online or just buy a realm. Realms are incredibly popular in the bedrock community.
Switch player here, currently playing on a third party server with mobile friends. Technically you can't normally join other servers than the featured ones, but there's a workaround
Any free server website: am i a joke for u?
Realms: yes, i am faster
I use a realm currently, and the only reason is becasue I can't find a good server hosting service that is cheaper
Use full command to fill tnts
alternative title : lagging mincraft realms servers
Realms is more for console where you cant just log into a new server to play with friends. you have to make a world that is only active when your online which can be annoying for friends
Thank you, I was seriously considering it, but not adding mods or maps above 5GB is rediculous.
My wife and I have been using a Minecraft realms server for months. I have a buddy that pops on every once in a while and he's unable to connect otherwise no matter how much I try. We had our world already made so it was just an easy option to convert it to realms. My wife and I started playing split-screen on the Switch and then we bought an Xbox Series S so the only way to migrate worlds was to create a Realms server on the Switch. Eventually I bought it for the PC so we can have our separate screens and she plays it on the Xbox. Honestly, now that I have PC I no longer need to pay for realms, but I do just because it's already setup and $8/mo is not killing me.
I think it's a good choice in your situation. There's a persistent dichotomy between freedom and accessibility, and while you may have more control over a hosted server, there are a lot more moving parts to keep track of that it may simply not be worth troubleshooting, especially if you nor anyone you know is particularly technically inclined. I've used a realm for a time when my friends and I were younger, and we even managed to lean on datapacks (which do work on realms) for some of the finer tuning as a medium between vanilla and modded/plugins. I'm glad you find that Realms works for you.
I don't know if you know or not but Microsoft supports some countries here in Egypt it's like only 1 dollar so pretty worth it other platforms doesn't have this kind of offers
you can use /fill command in vanilla minecraft
this is one of the reasons why essential exists
It means that only ten people can be on it at once, and a lot of people can join the realm
I mean. I have both on console and pc. And friends who only have console. So it’s good to have a realm so not one of us has to be on for the other to play. Sure realms could be better but it’s $8. Maybe if they offer different prices with different things would be cool
I pay for a realm and it’s because I Cba to set a server up and it’s easier for me and the boys to be able to constantly play without having the host (me) in game we can all play at any time so the progress don’t stop, I see it as a small fee for being able to have the boys join whenever they want and being able to play Minecraft together as were all older now and don’t have as much time to meet up with each other
Would be awesome if we get the server download of previous seasons from Soracraft!
You can do /fill that’s the vanilla bad worldedit
"Why can't I just use world edit"
Me when /fill exists
Can someone tell me a good server provider that doesnt have a render distance limiter and chunks are loading fast? (Doesnt have to be for free)
I have a question. Can u download tour reakm world to your saves files to play on that world in singleplayer?
You don't need world edit to fill in areas with blocks you can just use the /fill command.
Btw they're rught with cross-play , because for example , fortnite calls playing THE SAME GAME from PC to Mobile or Console cross-play , and you could even turn it off
Certain “datapacks” Technically work, the problem is realms can’t support experimental features.
For the tnt thing why didn’t you just /fill
Are there other ways to make servers for Bedrock without Realms?
The tutorials I've been looking so far are from Java
It looks like it turns off when no one is playing and then boots 20 second when someone joins
Realms made sense for bedrock because console players cant connect to 3rd party servers. But java realms....? why.....?
It's definitely not worth it on java edition, but on bedrock if you're playing on consoles you can't add custom servers so it's really the only option.
After 4 years of playing Minecraft, i didnt even jnow that realms existed lol
You could also just use the essential mod and other mods or plugins. Max you can play with is up to 8 players but it's free.
It’s not 24/7, and ran on your pc. Sure, its very good, but if you play with your friends often and have the money its worth just buying a host.
@@hxgonic then host the server with a raspberry pi, the consumption is almost negligible and if you have it via ethernet cable it works quite well....
Thank you for this information I am trying to set up a server for 9 of my friends. Would you know what's the safest way to host a Minecraft sever with mods?
You dont need WorldEdit!
You have the vanilla commands like /gamemode OR "/fill cordinate 1 cordinate 2 minecraft:tnt"
Why dont you know it?
i used to own bedrock realms when i was a kid, and it was fun. but that was years ago, before i realised free server hosting existed. ever since then i've just been using aternos.
Aternos is way too slow 😂
Nice
Though have you heard of... /fill ?
Also, I think it could have just taken the seed of the server to create the third world
Realms really only makes sense in some limited situations. Like a Win10 Bedrock realm for your family to play on.. that makes sense.. but anything Java based, it just doesn't make any sense with so many other options available.
Which options? Because I've just read the instructions to build a server and now I have headache lol
I have been hosting one for my school for 4months its great
Should've used /fill command what are people up with worldedit if you can do this in vanilla
7:19 the /fill command
7:00 You can use the /fill command. It's just a World Edit.
People like y’all forget that there’s so many people who play on Bedrock, specifically on console, and they don’t have the options we have on Java, Realms is here for those of us that for have the choice to just do that
I’ve used a realm for 6 years, so since June 2017 😅 it’s been great! Definitely worth the $8 a month!
only ever used realms to transfer my ps4 world to pc
There is crossplay, i have a realm and play on PC, my girl plays on the xbox and a friend plays on switch. all on the same realm. maybe it was updated since this video was released ?
CursedForge and Essential has become my best friend. lol
Realms are The perfect concept, and then they just didn’t finish it
can you make a tutorial on how to make custom rank textures
If you explore the word you can go way past 5gb my world is like 20+ gigs and runs fine
I use realms for skygens And it works well enough, and it's cheaper than any. Server Software
Thx mate. You're a (trial) hero! 😁
we had a realm. The connection is absolute trash. If your connection isn't stable, you get kicked. We had to use a VPN while playing on our realm. I've NEVER had this issue on ANY server. DO NOT buy realms
10:17 I have a bedrock realm that has 247.42gb and it is older than the combat update.
Bedrock's Realms are nothing compared to Java. Why do you think that Java has so many server providers open to public? Minecraft Realms on Java is just horrible! But on Bedrock is just like rowing a boat on ice.
So what your saying, Is that if ur friends want to play on the world when u are not online, they can. Without it your friends can't play on the world you made?
I always knew Minecraft realms wasn't that good. Great video! Very funny!!😂
Glad you enjoyed it mate! And I figured that out too 🤣
