@@Yorrix.edits_ Girlboss, don't be so hard on yourself! That's a grade 2 piece, you'll get it soon! I'm one day 620. From one flutist to another, we'll definitely slay this quite fun Standridge piece! I started learning that piece about 3 weeks ago, and the concert is in a week and a half so... 🗿

You got this! I’m on year two and don’t have any complaints or regrets about it. Just make sure to not give up. Lots of people say to go practice but that really is important. Stay encouraged and try your best ;)
@@Trinity-814 I am on year three, year one I hated it because i was sort of ahead of my class, year two I enjoyed it at lightly because I got to play harder music, and year three now I lovvveee it because I can play way better and I am in marching band which gives me a challenge!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Yeh it’s my first flute year, learn how to vibrato, my band requires it and I’m kinda bad at it, wish I learned earlier
I'm still in year one but my teacher say I'm advanced so I can give a little advice. Just practice. 20 minutes minimum. If you do it every day you will see your improvement.

I was actually pretty good at flute for a 14 year old, but I had to drop out because I was so unhappy with how the band teacher treated me
i only took up flute when i was 12, so i only have a grade 1 currently working on 2 and im the same age and i have to play with the junior band with the saxes who dont know what they're doing

I AM NOW MOTIVATED TO ACTUALLY PRACTCE MY FLUTE FOR BAND NOW-
My mom bought an old flute, she uses old instruments as art. But me, a trumpet player, well I had to try it out. I mean I’ve only had it for a day it’s it’s VERY DIFFICULT AND DIFFERENT BLOWING TECHNIQUES- but luckily my best friend plays flute, so she’s here to teach me 👍

i mostly did art in my electives because i could do art but nowadays im super picky and a perfectionist when it comes to art that i cant do it anymore so im choosing band, my dad says that the flute is like an artistic instrument and said that it would fit for me
so now i wanna learn music, rn im currently learning how to play a guitar. I'm hoping i can do well, or at least manage to play a bit of those both cause im tone deaf so its going to be a bit hard for me

Day 1 is relatable except the large numbers because I started playing flute in August 2021
Veteran US Army Bands Veteran here! I played flute/piccolo for the 1st Inf Div Band Ft Riley, KS; 399th Army Band Ft Leonard Wood, MO; and I Corps Band Ft Lewis, WA. Thank you for bringing back memories!!! 1st Inf Div Band was my favorite duty station. With the exception of getting dirty out in the field, I miss it. I haven’t played in about 25 years, I tried but I couldn’t get my embouchure to cooperate anymore. So… I bought a 6’ Everett Grand and started piano lessons again. Fun video!!!

yes indeed no encouragement not even when I wwas asked to play sub in a135 piece symphony orchestra never had a lesson but had clarinet lessons almost the same boem fingering then james golden flute galway popped up wonderful man with loving family makes all those difficult years a lifetime away
Definitely how we all played first day. I can remember my director dying inside as I held up my flute exactly how he does in day 1.

I can understand Because I am a flutist and i use Bamboo flute for first few months my rythym always use to break and the sound which comes from flute was horrible later by practicing and having control on breathing my rythym got perfect and now i am a professional flutist too
I’ve been playing flute for about 6 years and after my last concert my dad came up to me with my mom and said “Hey! You’ve totally improved Mads, not sounding like a dying goat when you first started.” I kid you not my dad really outted me like that 💀💀
