You can get an intel celeron laptop for 4.5k pr 5k. NSFAS pays 1600pm meal allowance. 4k pm accomodation allowance(it differs from institutions). It pays a once off book allowance of 5200(for books and laptop). Damn, NRF students are chowing more money than people in internships. Now that's really encouraging!
The INRF Bursary scheme is really encouraging and enticing. I'm happy for those who are using it, at least they can still maintain life while studying.
I feel like no one is gatekeeping these bursaries. Most students are, at times, lazy to do their own research and follow up on bursaries because of "NSFAS".

I have a quick question. I have been select for south 32 bursary under career wise too but they haven't said anything since they have requested my documents. How long did they take for them to pay for your tuition?
I’m also getting NRF. Masters level, 15k going up. Please don’t be lazy to study guys, you don’t even feel the pressure of not working. And if you’re working, that’s even better 😂. You need good marks to get accepted by NRF, you’ll be competing with A students. Their application process can be draining but the pay is worth it.

Hi Boni, for NSFAS is different the person who gave you his or her information about NSFAS he/she must be eating in the campus the food is provided by the university that's not the NSFAS Allowance because when I check how much NSFAS pay for my Fees it's a lot of money, from 100k

You can apply dear, and once you are sponsored, you have to terminate NSFAS… if you don’t terminate and use both, you might be charged with fraud (breach of contract), whilst others have successfully used two bursaries at the same time , some have paid the price dearly.
