Out of everyone in the game and everything they went through, Seda is the most tragic. He gave everything he could to protect his kingdom and as a result of a selfless act he lost everything he held dear in return. ...A lot of people compare this game to Zelda, and its likeness to it. I'll admit, Zelda is still my favourite series of games at heart. But when you think of what Seda did, in a lot of ways, he deserves the title the Hero of Time just as much.
How fitting is it that this song, titled "Memories" not only holds a place of prominence in my childhood memories, but now holds a place in my adulthood memories as well being that the same cousin I used to play this game with is now using it as background music for the inn our characters currently frequently visit in our Pathfinder campaign. This song holds a special place in my heart, and likely always will.
Aww, that's awesome man. I played this game with my little brother when we were kids, and he's always our DM now. I gotta tell him to play this song at some point the next time we all play. :D
I played it.......the gameplay doesn't really hold up all that well. And leveling up IS A PAIN. And that goes for Dark cloud 2 as well. Though Dark Cloud 2 is WAY better gameplay wise. Though these games do have good soundtracks and a cool art style and choreography and aesthetics
@@TheKpa11 I have to agree with you, Dark Cloud 1, while a fun game hasn't aged very well in a lot of ways, Dark Cloud 2 on the other hand, a complete masterpiece, the only aspect of that game that I don't think has aged well was it's voice acting. But one good trait both games have in common, Tomohito Nishiura's masterful soundtrack.

They NEED to make a Dark Cloud 3, bring back the original characters. Make them a little older, have the story come together. I just don't want it to end. The story just stopped too short for me. WE NEED MORE DARK CLOUD.

My favourite game when I was younger, picked it up again just a few days ago and I'm already working my way through both Demon Shaft (I'm at around floor 15) and the Gallery of Time. I already know what happens in all the Scenes you put together, but I always watch them anyways. They remind me of why I loved being a child.

I remember when the advertisements for this game were still displayed at bus stops in toronto, but since I had already been given Kingdom Hearts, I wasn't allowed to get this game. OST Sounds beautiful though.
I remember that, back when there were screenshots of what we now know is Ni No Kuni 2, but people had no idea what it actually was yet so a lot of people were hoping it would be Dark Cloud 3, but nope.
It is difficult, the rights of Dark Cloud are not fully Level 5's. They said they would if they could but it's unfortunately very unlikely. Ironic for games like this to be lost in time.
I wouldn't say filler, since you were rebuilding the world after all, but it definitely wouldn't have hurt them to add a little bit more of antagonist pressure to them. It would have made Seda's character more interesting for sure, other than: "Hey! You know that guy you met in the beginning of the game and haven't seen ever since? Well, he's kinda the one responsible for everything that has happened. Oh, he's dead."
The way to hell is paved with good intentions. Something I found really funny about Dark Cloud is that for such a plot-centric character, Seda barely appears in the game. He appears in the Divine Dragon cave, and as far as I remember, doesn't reappear until the last dungeon, where we learn everything about him. You'd think one of the main antagonists would get a little bit more screen-time. Still an awesome game, though. =P

I've been using both Dark Clouds' songs in my DnD. A lot of them work really well. I have at least five being used right now.
