Ah.. pure nostalgia. Not my first game, but it was the first game I played on the ps2. Never actually finished it.. as I wasn't a good gamer as a kid. The gameplay, story, art, theme, soundtrack everything.. just an amazing piece of art that I am glad to have experienced. While all of the songs are well designed, this simple piece brings the nostalgia flowing.. Some things just can't be experienced the same way twice, and it's honestly sad.. The experience of a new adventure, not knowing what is coming or what is going to happen. Back when a games weren't always just copies of the same idea, or the same idea used over and over.. I will always treasure my first experiences with great games like The Legend of Mana (ps1,) Azure Dreams (ps1) and even the Original Pokemon games.. I wish I could relive my first experiences again.. Such bittersweet nostalgia.

I always lost at the Duel so I could never progress, until I turned about 7 or so and gave it another go. Got as far as Queens. Then my Ps2 shut off while it had been on for days, and no memory card, so bye bye..
I remember when I was really young I could never beat dran because I didn't understand how important it was to not break your weapons. I was only doing 1 damage with my broken dagger and slingshot thinking there must be some secret like getting him to land in the holes he makes on the ground. Sometimes I miss being a kid, now a days I'd be way to tempted to just look up a guide whenever I get stuck

I had just heard of this game 4 months ago. Went to a local game store of mine, asked the clerk if he had it, and he had a used copy for 10 bucks. Finished this game, then wanted to get the second one. Asked my clerk. He didn't have it. Simply searched online. Found a 20$ copy. I don't know why people act like this game(s) hard to find that they keep mentioning emulators. It really isn't
I suggest you trying to complete it. Due to nostalgia factor this game will be probably one of the best experiences you might have in gaming. And you will hold moore onto your childhood with much moore memories and refreshing the older ones.
I love how you can somehow hear the "Professor Layton" out of this tune. Would have been such a nice touch if they used this in a Professor Layton game as the puzzle theme.

Dark Cloud was my first video game EVER - It's still working, and I refuse to finish the game because I still want to hold onto my childhood ..
