@@ValentinoMarino11"4 instances" would be alot of instances when there are only a handful of duels in the prequels. That said, there are definently more than 4 instances.
Maul repeatedly uses physical martial arts and kicks in his fight in phantom menace in fact, that's how he creates an opening against Qui-gon Jinn by bludgeoning him with his lightsaber hilt.
When Anakin fights Obi-wan there is also plenty of physical contact. At one point early in the fight Anakin attempts to grapple Obi-Wan, however Obi counter grapples to create an opening, but then Anakin counters Obi's counter by spinning into a block.
later on in the fight you have Anakin physically locking down Obi-wan and attempts to choke him out which progresses into a back and forth exchange of kicks between them. Hell, Anakin literally full on DROPKICKS Obi-wan in this scene.
Pretty sure Anakin also backhands him at several occasions too
So idk wth the hell you guys are smoking to claim the movies weren't like this.
Because the statment is clearly wrong, as the swtor duels emulate the prequels approach to dueling.
We have scenes like this BECAUSE of the movies.

I think Malgus's point was that everyone should be given a *chance* to learn the secrets of the Force, especially since those who are attuned enough to be cherry-picked from whatever they came from by a Jedi, are given a free ticket out of where they are to a life that is most likely way better than what they had, regardless of whether you believe in the Jedi way or not. Everyone else is left behind, when they could be helped by those very Jedi who were there anyway. The main Twi'lek character's background is a prime example. Her brother might've been gifted, he might not. But he never even got the chance, and was mostly likely forced to stay and become a slave, rather than be given a chance at a new life with his sister. It's why Malgus describe the Jedi as wanting to "play god", after all. They get to decide who they want to become something and who is left to rot.

If they take someone too strong, that person could become a dictator and try to force everyone to bow before them. If they are too weak they could die and the Jedi would be responsible. The Jedi abhor the destruction of innocent, defenseless life, which is why you always see them negotiating before a conflict. Yes. I honestly think that the old republic story shows the flaws even better then TCW and ROTS. We see way more fallen Jedi and warmongers in the order, while we also see some progressive and light sided Sith. In TCW, there’s still a very black and white profile of Jedi order and Sith. And sure the Sith are the evil guys but we can understand the problems of the order and the cruelty of its concept in SWTOR. And we understand why so many people are opposed to the republic

I love the sounds that the lightsabers make when they hit each other, it has that sort of sharp, vibratory feel to it very similar to the sounds made by Captain America's shield in Marvel movies when it bounces off walls. The Part where the first Sith throws his lightsaber and hits the metal beam with it in particular sounds almost movie-theater quality, and the part where he gets force thrown into the wall as well. But when your apprentice is an heir to a sith bloodline that doesn't lose out to Tulak Hord things won't go your way at all because the bloodline of such an ancient Power is not something others can control only the bloodline limit user aka Sith Inquisitor. In addition, in the scene just before the master destroys the machine you can see that Malgus' blade is turned off, and he doesn't appear to be in a combat stance; instead, his posture is slightly slouched, making it appear as if he's ruminating (and as a result, he gets caught off-guard when the master destroys the machine and a piece of rubble is sent flying into him)

Genuinely and don't even get me started about the "combat styles" the ones that are permanent aftee you choose. Legit they made it so there's no Learning they said hey here's a 2nd class get it right or your character is busted. Or how about the new ui the removal of renown or the fact that all the crap they made you work for it just deleted into non existence and they give you a couple hundred credits telling you thanks for playing. It's obvious that they spent money and did well on the cinematic. I'm wondering why they didn't so the same for the game they ignored the roaring of fans asking for the bare minimum and instead they say hey how about the classes you've learned from launch yeah how about we make it so anyone can practically be anything but with all the abilities to make your class Useless.
