This was a really cool video to record, and one I've wanted to do for months. Exploring all these levels I made around 5 years ago was insane and so much fun. I genuinely forgot I was recording a video half way through this, I just got so into it, it was awesome lmao

I feel like 2.0 was a middle ground. I don't blame the creators for making terrible 2.0 levels because they were getting used to all the move triggers and infinite colour and all the new block designs but I don't feel like a lot has happened in 2.0 (mostly because 2.0 was my brake period). But even when I caught up on what happened, it still feels like it's relatively calm. In 2.0, I recall only 2 notable things happening, which are the verifications and placements of the hardest demons (yatagarasu, erebus, artificial, etc) and the making of the modern demonlist website.
Yeah, good creators from 1.9 always make shit levels in 2.0
2.0 was odd. We got a lot more control over the editor, but we didn’t get curves or flat items to make modern levels with. People definitely took time to learn triggers.
Yes 2.0 was a bad but necessary middle ground. If you think about it, the only knowledge creators had at the time was building bright colorful 1.9 levels which obviously didn't translate well to newer mechanics like moving objects. Modern levels weren't just going to pop up instantly, we definitely had to make our way there.
To be fair, I think 2.0 was kind of golden age in gd. sure, the early levels were bad but that’s because the features were too revolutionary for creators to use correctly. after people learned though they just progressively got better
@@cindersnap. oh yeah I definitely agree, I don't wish it never existed. Like I said, the period for improvement was necessary, it just came along with a few growing pains haha
It’s nostalgic to even think of 2.0 levels. The jump of deco from 2.0 to 2.1 is bigger than the quadruple spike in Tartarus.

1.9 was the most fun update imo, i know that 2.1 has muuuch more but 1.9 is rlly nostalgic for me because i remember how hyped i was when we got custom music

3:12 Probably to extend level time temporarily to make playtesting in normal mode easier (so you don't accidentally complete it and it stays like that), you probably just scrolled (using the top slider) all the way to the right. (P.s: I'm saying this because I do this myself, except I put a unchanged stop trigger instead of a block, but the block was probably just easier for you)

The EnV - Uprise song gave me so much nostalgia and dread. I remember making a level that couldn’t easily been featured in 2.0, with that song. A few days later I was going through my levels and deleting the bad ones, I don’t know how, but I accidentally DELETED the featureable level and balled my eyes out. (I was very young be kind lmao)
I slowly lost interest in GD creating after that fateful day and moved to demon and Star grinding.
Oops… “could’ve easily been featured…”

Made an entirely dual level around when Double Dash got released
Had problems with my phone and i kept trying stuff until i accidentally wiped all the data on my phone
I did not save my data to the servers beforehand

ur levels are good my best level was an XL "hell themes level" but i didnt know how to decorate so it had random crosses everywhere and invisible blocks- its gameplay was alright but sadly the levels gone now since my account got lost and i never uploaded the level since i was too bad at the game (it was like medium demon difficulty) it used the nine circles song tho
