    The racking pediment was added to the portico probably when they put the racking roof line after removing the hipped federal roofline

    Beautiful home, not excited about the coffee bar in front foyer. Also, I would not display spice collection above fireplace, of course, that can be removed when new homeowner becomes the keeper. Otherwise a beautiful home. Classic and beautiful floors.

    It's really a shame that someone went overboard painting just about ALL of the woodwork on the first floor. The FIRST floor's woodwork was NEVER painted but shellacked to bring out the BEAUTY of the EXPENSIVE oak/walnut/mahogany woodwork showing how well-off the owner was. The second floor and anything above would be painted because the woodwork was less expensive. It really looked like someone got one heck of a deal on 10-20 gallons of that green paint that was splashed ALL over. Other than that, the house looked pretty good for its age.
