I've often thought that Monza with a wider and less bumpy oval would be a helluva circuit in modern cars. The original track was such a wild idea that was never really duplicated (although many American ovals have infield road courses they aren't very good except for Daytona's)

    • @GiulioImparato

@Jimmy Broadbent . . . when you commented about how warm it was in the shed, consider this: You are experiencing a reality aspect of racing at the Italian Grand Prix, which from what I recall from 50+ years ago, was held in September, where the weather could get HOT at Monza.
With current F1 cars racing at the long circuit, I'd be curious how much trimming of the wings and spoilers the teams would do on the cars; as I recall from the 1968 Italian Grand Prix, some teams, with McLaren coming to mind, scaled back on the appendages for better top-end speed; which paid off for the McLaren team, as Bruce McLaren led in the early going, with teammate Denis Hulme getting the win.

I feel your pain with the heat. My rig is on the second story in a poorly ventilated room of my house and the last 3 days the coolest the room has been is 85° F.... Needless to say I've done very little racing the last few days.

Indycar should run at the Monza old circuit. They could handle it. And we would all LOVE IT.

You should do modern F1 at the old Oesterreichring. There's a good mod for it for AC or you can do it on Automobilista with stock content. It would be very timely 👍🏼

Most of the old banking has been removed and the remnants are unserviceable. Plus it's terribly unsafe.

@@AuroDHikoshi Modern F1 cars can't race on banking. Other cars might be able to manage it, but I doubt it would ever be commercially viable.
