Man i loved the sound effects when you throw the cable XD
The L667r uses an Intel 810E chipset, which makes use of ATA66. It seems you've replaced the previous 80 pin IDE cable with a 40 pin one; 40 pin cables can only handle ATA33 at most, which is quite appropriate even for computers using the ubiquitous 440BX chipset from 1998, but an 80 pin cable on this computer could see some benefits with a 20GB hard drive or a CF card.
I HAVE A DELL DIMENSION L700CXE
This video marks the last of the following things:
- The last video to be uploaded on RUclips before the coronavirus shutdowns in North Carolina.
- The last video to be uploaded before the cancellation of Catholic Masses in the U.S.A.
i had a similar computer like this. a Dell Dimension L566cx with a 566Mhz Celeron CPU. omg I loved that computer when I was all into vintage computers back in the early 10s
I have an L466c.
i have this machine, found it in the trash. it is running windows 2000 professional
I remember that video, I have a Dell Dimensions L466c, I know these computers like the back of my hand. I upgraded my RAM to the systems maximum of 512mb.
Do you think you could get an old Socket 462 system with alot of sentimental value I have working again for me if I send it to you? I'm almost positive that the psu is the problem.
I wish the thrift stores in Wisconsin have computers sitting on the shelf to buy
Which version of acronis are you using?
Acronis OS Selector 5.0
The reason why it's still booting up slow is likely because DMA wasn't enabled for the CF card.
I've had a couple of these L series Dimensions slip through my hands throughout the years. My grandparents had one of these and they upgraded it from 98SE to XP my dad brought home from my brothers and i (We uninstalled Windows XP for a huge nostalgia trip and had no mouse working) then a few years later, around late 2012 or early 2013 i bought a Dimension L733R with Windows 98 and the previous owner left her stuff on it. I took it apart to clean all the dust out of it, powered it back on and Windows 98 was complaining about some mysteriously missing dll file and refused to boot so i destroyed it. I was an idiot back then who knew nothing about computers and i highly regret destroying it like a moron to this very day. Still have the processor.
what windows OS does it say on the product key my guess is windows ME or 2000 or XP
Either ME or 2000, considering they were cheap, it probably came with ME.
POST is slow on my dell dimension from same time period.
My L466c from 1999 isn't all that slow.
Post is slow on my Latitude D820 lol. XP and 7 boots fast though, i have an ssd.
Can you please update the BIOS on this Dell Dimension L667r PC using the website called: www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=r33891&oscode=w98&productcode=dimension-l-r and do a video of yourself doing it and upload it to RUclips after that? True or False
I do like the video
That is a Dellasaurus kind of like in this website - ruclips.net/video/agBNHC6VnYA/видео.html...
You can also put Windows 2000 and Windows XP on it.
with 512MB of RAM you could also put Vista on it too. Had a Compaq Proliant 800 with a P3 500Mhz and 768MB of RAM and tried that.
I was cringing when you were working inside the computer while it was plugged in. I actually killed a mobo doing that once in an old computer
"You did this wrong, and this wrong, and that wrong! Instant dislike!"
