Heard about a test done by a national driver of KZ2 and FS team on one track built by him. The KZ was slower. But the information is not 100% I just remember that they've done it.
Well, that´s a very fast track for FS, imho too fast to compare those two, put that kart onto FSA or FSG course (which is way slower than this) and it will probably beat every FS-car. And than there are those shifter karts, which will surley give an FS-car a very hard time....
It's fast for europe standards but it's just average speed of the michigan layout. You're probably right that shifter karts are much closer to FSAE Cars on narrow tracks. I guess we should head out and try it :D
id argue the opposite! especially on the tight european tracks a kart is going to be slower. aero, suspension, awd, torque-vectoring will make up for the 60-80kg more youre going to carry on an fsae compared to a kart.

Nobody:
Alonso: GP2 Engine! GP2!! Argh!
Imagine having a professional KZ2 driver with his shifter kart race that course, I bet it'll give the FS a hard time😎
Now get him in the FSAE car and then we'll talk 😅
looked to me like the go cart was faster at the start, clearly not fast enough
Your lot looks hilariously unsafe to test at those speeds, but that might just be the fisheye making me think that.
no. they are that narrow. that is what makes it fun.
upon reviewing the video, holy shit the grip on the fsae car
Be aware that a slightly more expensive kart would beat the FSAE car. It doesn't matter. That's not what FSAE is about.
Proper professional shifter karts are absolutely insane stuff, super satisfying to see pro drivers whip them around tracks
