Dude you are being super open and real. Makes the channel more interesting. It’s car life with actually “life” in it. Different from most car guy channels.
I really htink its more A kin to how he started. Sort of going back to his roots. When I first found this channel That is exactly what it was. HE was still trying to figure everything out and part of that reality made the videos that much more enjoyable. All too many people have Hyper Finished Videos with near Michael Bay levels of work put into them and thats nice and all, but it gets old. Sometimes you just want to see "What its Like" not "what THEY Want it to look like to you"

Fatherhood hits you the first time your child is sick and can't sleep all night. It's hard when you don't know what's going on and why they are upset. In the end it's a learning experience that you will remember for the rest of you life. It's all worth it in the end. Being a father is the best thing I have ever done.
Keep on this path brotha it won’t be a straight one, and theirs gonna be a few bumps… thru all that your gonna come out on top…

I do not personally know about your logistics and financial situation but here's how my thought process went, suggestion would be to either 1. Store the forester somewhere and turn it into your garage queen (don't insure it during certain months or seasons unless you know you are going to use it for errands or some spirit driving). 2. Sell it 3. Go absolutely ham and just be Albo with the JDM Trio: Forester STI, FL5 Type R, and banana S2000.

You wont have that "getting hit by a truck" holy sh!t Im a dad feeling until you are fully hands on with the kid, doing it every day, changing those diapers and feedin them, keeping them amused... Your first full day, of having the kiddo to yourself, knowing their life is in your hands.. THEN it hits you. Her being with her family for the Japanese typical newborn experience, kind of draws that "event" out until a later time. However at the same time, For the First time father, its Kind of Cool. Give you some freedom to really get your stuff together and get ready for that complete change.

Question/tip - if you are into Drifting, have you considered going to Formula Drift Japan events and making impressions/reports/stories on the topic/events? I'd watch that!
tip - when it comes to kids' language. Based on experiences of my friends and their kids (Polish/German family and Polish/Chinese family) one party speaks to kid in their native tongue, and the other in theirs. To talk between each other, parents settle on one language. Kids in these situations are catching all of the languages. So for Polish/German family kid can speak both languages (but German better, since they live in Germany). You could implement the same thing. You talk to your son in English, while your wife in Japanese. Then at home to talk to each other, choose Japanese too. Keishin will know both languages, and you will bump up your Japanese by practicing it at home ;)
been waiting for this for the past few days, cant say how excited to see daily vlogs, inspired you took on the business fulltime and it is special that you share your intimate family and baby moments with us, really enjoyed the ama where we got alot of good advices on living in japan, everything from jobs to wages, to language, its the key to any of us hoping to join your adventurous journey thank you and appreciate you showing such a culture from which i have delved back into the hashiriya within, something idreamed of asa kid but not having that kind of infrastructure where i grew up, so cool to see how young kids get into it with their dads-wish the best
also props to doing the whole balancing act, over all these years its big, working full time, running a very popular youtube channel, getting married, buying a home, and now having a kid, you are doing great, and your positive attitude is teaching others how it is possible with both passion and discipline, even if stressfull or anxiety causing, overcoming the challenge

Being a father never really hits me. I'll sit and think wow sometimes and then like the one thing you put energy into- it becomes a means of looking at your ability to parent and your child's milestones.

Being a dad is awesome but I have 7 year old twins and I still have to check myself. Intro tip on getting your boy behind the wheel. Razor crazy carts are a great start. Ive done all motorized little cars but these things really teach them throttle steering control. Plus you can get yourself a full size version to join him!

Man...the first several years was so chaotic raising our 1st born just trying to provide. My son is turning 14 soon and my daughter turned 10 and it probably hit me a couple years ago when probably said "Damn... I'm a father". It's weird...but when you see your child (children) doing things and you're no longer needed to do it for them, that's when it truly hit me.

If you’re worried about your son’s English abilities, one technique my parents did to ensure my sister and I had usable Cantonese skills growing up in small town Ontario was that we were only allowed to communicate in Cantonese at home. They were never worried about our English abilities since it will be natural in school and society. Focus on the native language at home so that it’s maintained to a usable extent. Maybe you could try that with your son. English at home, Japanese out in society and school.

Try to do more collabs! And I mean not just meeting people at Daikoku, but actually doing stuff together. Your viewership should grow and your videos would become more diverse.
in all honesty, you got to find your little flare on this huge youtube market, i think you can evolve the channel to something great. Look att SAMMIT, he started of kinda rough, but he just send it and belived in evolving the channel. exactly the way to handle a buisness. If you got that mentality in this project, you will have success. Only you know how much money you can potentially make from youtube, but never be naive, thats your downfall. always expect insane workhours for this to work longterm. I wish you all luck Albo!

I was a recruiter in Tokyo and I would say a "good" living wage in Tokyo is at least 10M. Foreign corporations tend to pay 12-15M with some going to 20M or more with bonus/commission. With the exchange rate now, 10M is less than 70K a year.
I agree, when I think about it, 10M is kind of necessary if you want to get married.

Albo don't worry about your kid being able to speak Japanese and English. If your wife speaks Japenese to him and you in English, he'll pick up both easy. Kids are sponges and it's much easier for them when young. My wife speaks another language and our kids speak both fluently. Good luck with the full time Youtubing
The first time your kid is sick you realize you are a dad. That and tons of play/park time when they get a little older. For dual or trilingual kid. Don't stress over it. Treat English like anyone else in Japan and just enroll in a cram school for extra practice or another English school. The communication part will be ok. My daughter goes to a public Japanese school and her English is still doing well.

As a new dad take the opportunity that you have at the moment to get as much out of your system as you can, because when mum and baby move back in you’ll quickly find your time disappears very quickly, and you’ll have to sacrifice something if you want to be hands on nurturing him.
It really is an investment where the more you put in the more you can see them grow and develop. Don’t push yourself too hard to get content out, family first, as a real fan and father of a little one too I totally understand and won’t hold it against you as I’ve been following you for many years.
