The VR booking site no longer uses Flash (2021). There are no longer many locomotives of the old Soviet-era in use. Most passenger locomotives are Sr2 models manufactured by Bombardier (ABB / SLM) or Sr3 models manufactured by Siemens.

With Flash being discontinued in December 2020 one would hope they no longer use it and found appropriate replacement :D
The video was taken back in 2019.
Glad I still got to film some of the Sr1 locomotives.

Good vid! I'm from Finland and I use junat kartalla or the VR app to check live location and train timetables. If using VR app its in the older one of them.

There was a kind of an political and commercial reason to purchase those locos from Soviet Union. At that time the trade was very one sided ...products into Soviets and raw material into Finland (mostly oil). Soviets wanted to sell their loco to Finland as a "tech. product" . They have trucks by Skoda, compressed air system by Knorr and power electronics by Finnish Stromberg (later part of ABB). The government had stated that new el-locos should be bought from a local suppliers (either Valmet or Lokomo in Tampere) but these locos were cheaper. Finally that was the result. Those locos were originally a bit problematic but VR refined them and later on they have been very useful and pretty reliable running about 50 years daily and huge amount of kilometers. Soviets later called Stromberg engineers from Finland to make efficient power electronics to the most powerful loco (14 MW) in the world meant for the BAM railroad in Siberia.

The Sr1 has given excellent service to VR. They even built one locally in Finland from spare parts, and also bought the original prototype that had been abandoned by the factory, in 1993 and 1995 respectively.

I appreciate the thought, but your camera swirls around so much, never focusing, that it gave me a headache. I've watched other such videos by non-photographers that were much better.
