About Me
“The world needs more makers.” ~ RoyerX
Being from a family of creatives whose motto was to produce not to consume was etched into Kyle from a very early age and being educated at home gave him many opportunities to work hard at his own creative pursuits.
At eighteen, Kyle graduated high school and two weeks later received his Journeyman Smith Stamp and a rare double win of the George Peck Award and Bill Moran Award, “the 18-year-old prodigy”, “the blazing bladesmith” was what BLADE Magazine labeled him. Following that victory in November, 2009 BLADE Magazine ran a special five page spread “That Young and That Good”, the article went on to say “His ability to masterfully execute new designs, processes and artistic damascus patterns is remarkable. In spite of his young age, his fit/finish and attention to detail is representative of some of todays most known and sought after makers.” He was one of two to achieve Mastersmith by the age of twenty. His knives and his skills are highly sought after worldwide.
In the early years, if you weren’t at a knife show or a hammer-in, learning from the masters, information was hard to find, there was no online content and only a few books and videos, so it was a lot of trial and error in the knife shop. Kyle is passionate to teach makers his more than fourteen years of experience.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” We hope we can inspire you on your maker’s journey.
Thanks for watching
Enjoy!

What a stunning piece. Kyle thank you for making the Stiletto and Josh thank you for letting us see how it was made. Thank you Royer Team.
:D Thanks :D
one genious knifemaker commentin another genious knifemaker's video , amazing
I found this channel several months ago thanks to Tely.
@@StickySubstance This is one of my favorite channels to watch. SOOOOO much to learn from all the tips and tricks. Free knife making University.
@@SLAVIKTELY you're absolutely right Tely. Awesome Craftsman 👌
To be able to say, “I own a Royer”, must be surreal... Beautiful.
Thanks Eric
Merry Christmas
Kyle
Merry Christmas to you all.
I am going to own a Royer short sword one day!
and yes, it will be used to plunge into the brains of the alien overlord mega boss.
If I owned a Royer I'd feel like a Royel.
It's so pristine that even individual specks of dust stand out glaringly. I envy the man who's going to be stabbed by this stiletto.
I thought the same regarding the individual dust specks. Even the smallest lint fiber shows up!
I would jump IN FRONT of the man who was about to be stabbed by this knife, it's so beautiful!!!
"It looks like a Skyrim mod weapon with way too high detail levels to fit into the game, but in real life" - My brother walking by and seeing the final pictures
This is legendary, it's like something you'd find in the heart of some insanely difficult dungeon in a fantasy RPG game
the blue ball jokes must have been flying around the shop
Probably the most beautifull knife I haver seen! Your attention to details and craftmanship is second to none! Just beautifull! I only hope I will be able to aford one of your knives in the future. 👏👏👏
@DATING HARLEY QUINN yes I have
Thanks guys
Glad you’re here with us
Happy new year
Dad
This literally looks like an enchanted weapon from a video game but in real life. It's so beautiful and it literally glows with the polish you gave it. That blackened mirror polish finish always just makes my jaw drop with how beautiful it is.
He is so satisfied by assembling this beauty!
Congratulations on a fantastic build! And thanks for sharing this project with us.
😳 WOW! That’s beautiful.
Your attention to detail is off the charts.
Thanks Anthony
Happy new year

Thanks MA

Kyle
By FAR my favorite handle from you.
Watching you is just a pure joy. The craftsmanship and detail is stunningly beautiful i would love to see you do a companion piece to this in the form of a swept hilt rapier.
It’s perfect , so nice dude . Excellent . Best I ever seen . Who would have thought the care and time that goes into such a tiny piece .
You're a superb craftsman. You also talk excessively of how wonderful your works are. Your creation speaks of your skill, itself.
A black balls story
Amazing work!!!
every detail is just awesome!
Absolutely beautiful! Each new one is more amazing than the last. I love it. You are the best. Thank you for sharing the build with us. Can't wait to see what you have in store for the next one. Davin

Dear Kyle, thank you very much for this amazing piece of art, and greetings to your dear brother for filming it for all of us. Once again you made a fantastic master piece... Wishing you all the best with coming up projects. Respect!
Thanks SN
Will let all the team know
Merry Christmas
Dad
Wonderful piece Josh. I enjoy your design choices as much as I do your craftsmanship. That and your Japanese-level mastery of process. You're a young lad, I can't imagine what you will be able to do 20 years down the line.
This is some really really high quality work. The accents of the gloss steel combined with the darker gloss and the darker handle works so wonderfully. I'll definitely be sharing this among friends who enjoy blacksmithing videos.
Thanks Andy
Good to have you hanging out with us all
Happy new year
Team Royer
Absolutely breathtaking!
Josh, the music choice at the end... perfect. Made me cry a bit.
Thanks spanierjuan
Glad you’re enjoying the vids

Kyle
Wow....what an epic masterpiece! Congratulations on such a fine build Kyle 😮😍
Thanks Shannon
Good to have you here with us all
Happy new year
Team Royer
Absolutely stunning! Another great series of another phenomenal build, the care and attention given to every small detail is mind blowing. I also like Josh's style where he leaves the 'brother banter' at the beginning or end of each scene in the videos, like telling you pulling the blade out of the ferric chloride should be slow and dramatic.
You must be one of the humblest men on RUclips, when you talk about a piece it’s almost like it was made by the bladesmithing pixies have made it. If it was me I’d be saying "LOOK WHAT I'VE DONE! YES I'VE DONE THIS! YES, ME, ME, ME!" And yes I would be shouting it.
Just as good as the stiletto are the family unity and values that come through all your videos, it’s wonderful to see the love you all have for each other.
Brilliant, loved every second.
Kyle always delivers. This and the sword are my favs
Another outstanding job. Absolutely gorgeous Kyle!
Thanks Doug
Happy new year
Team Royer

Thanks Jacob

I like the fact you explain things beyond what needs said. Makes me feel normal with my ocd on the way i teach people how to do things. Im not alone LOL. Love your work.
Wow ! Respect dude . That’s amazing
The deep grove running down the center of the blade is my favoite detail, the knife as a whole is amazing, a museum piece fit for a king.
Thanks Dale
Merry Christmas
Team Royer

Thanks Jordi

It was worth the wait! It turned out beautifully, Kyle! Those black chrome accent balls definitely bring it to another level, and then gold in the flutes gives it just a touch of warmth as well.
