Education is the only way out the projects. Also I believe the projects is demonic and haunted because of all the generations of unfulfilled souls that have passed away there. You feel so miserable and like a prisoner in there. Glad I made it out. I still have nightmares about being back there. It’s really like getting out of jail once you leave. You have to adapt/learn new things you aren’t used to that are considered normal. We need programs where people who got out can guide the youth on how to do the same.
Sometimes I love the hell out of judge Mathis and sometimes I want to slap the ego out of him! But then I sit back and think about some of the stuff he says and it all makes sense. When his ego isn’t showing he can drop some real gems and make me love him again ❤
You only commented because YOU believe you're beautiful at 60. This has nothing to do with the people with horrific hair colors. You're an insult to the intelligent.
We can't use stress, poverty, and pent up anger to coddle violent offenders - it's still no excuse for violence - especially violence against your own people, and especially so against women and children. It's just a sign of weakness, cowardice, and lack of inner-leadership.
@@valeedadavidson678 Does he have to use the exact word "coddling" in order for intelligent people to deduce that they way he expressed the "reason" is a form of coddling? The only reason for violence is a weak person.
A very insightful episode of judge Mathis. This is the reason why I definitely like the show. He knows thoroughly the country history. Way to go, dear judge. Even if I'm not an American, I m really interested in Americans lifestyle, and history is very important to better apprehend today's dynamics.
I think he was emphasizing there is no shame in coming out of "the projects" and professing that she embrace the fact that she did come Out and did well with her life which flourished upon her children.
Judge Mathis knows what's up! He's making those connections and telling the truth about what's really going on. I love his point of view, you won't hear most judges ever talking like this.
She should have just said she grew up in public housing. Lots of background. Judge Mathis gave an excellent commentary about the social disparities of life.
Good. Im glad. Lots of uneducated and ignorant people out there. They need to understand the dynamics that screwed the black community (politically and systematically speaking)
They are blessed they have such a good mother an you can tell because even the daughter gave her her props. An shout out to Judge Mathis for shedding light on some valuable points about the projects.

How is this ok that her father worked for the government in the army & the family is living in poverty living in the projects. Anyone who Work for the security of the country should have at the least housing, food & education for their children. Imagine risking your life for the country while your family has nothing.
Wow. Judge Mathis educated the world today. It is so true. That angry/hostile disposition is exactly what prompted me to start my company. I look forward to the day we can support those communities and bring up black people (and others). We can’t keep going this way. People must have the opportunity to succeed and gain the basics of life. When you have nothing to live for, how are you supposed to value other peoples lives?? You can’t even appreciate your own life. We’ve got to do better as a country. This isnt right. I’m so glad JM shared this on his platform.
As a youth, I enjoyed staying in my tenement apartment in Robert Taylor on 43rd and Federal during the early 80s. Free "choke" sandwichs at the 2nd floor lunch program. Playing "freefall" in the elevators. Racing your best friend on the opposite set of stairs from the 11th to the ground floor. Making sure the bill of your hat wasnt turned to the left of right when playing outside. Enjoying the swimming pool that was cemented over and the broke up playground. Hoping the El when you couldnt steal $.50 cents. Being allowed to gamble real money at the 47th street carnival. Ahhh. Those were the days.❤😊
What about getting a job, an education and no children until married. Better yourself. Difficult but definitely not impossible. This is not to say that the what the judge is saying doesn't have a lot of merit.
