I made a cat cafe last year. I decorated mine like a grandma's dream and made a club room for the local knitting club. It's probably one of my favourite builds.

I find it funny that every cat cafe in the Sims 4 (including the ones I've built for myself) seems super cutesy and fluffy, but real life cat cafes I've been to were either super eclectic or a trendy loft style 😂
Probably because people who want to go to one or have never been (or just want cozy things) are building them. Or else maybe this means what cat people want is not the building they're being provided lol.

I agree that'd be awesome for a video and I'd love to see it! It gave me another idea too though... either use it for a build challenge and see what happens, like add random walls and platforms (which should be interesting with tall walls) and treat it like a shell challenge, use various randomizers like color, size, or simoleons per rooms, or build it up with nothing but gallery rooms that aren't just a replacement for that specific apartment lol. OR gut the entire apartment, move your Sim into the empty space, and do a rags to riches where you have to furnish it bit by bit however you decide to do it (stealing, dumpster diving, amassing money the usual way, starting a painting club.) Could even include a scenario with it if you wanted to get extra spicy. Not saying you need any of that but I just thought it'd be cool if it was like a shell challenge because somehow those still end up good even when they're frustrating, it helps break people out of their typical habits and try new things, and that's where that lead as far as those two thoughts went since apartments aren't like regular lots. I think oddly enough starting out with an apartment for any of these challenges might make it harder though... I might try this out sometime if I get off my lazy butt and update the CC that Werewolves broke like my enormous amount of sliders lol. XD
7:00 If they're ever gonna do a Realm of Magic refresh, I really hope that accidentally (or purposely) turning sims into cats or dogs is a feature. I also still want to control them like they're normal sims but they're just... a cat or a dog. Imagine the chaos that would ensue.
You should do Sims 4 but every room is a different shape. So you put on a wheel square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon, etc and make the room the shape you land on
Our local cat Cafe has had almost 800 cat adoptions! They pair up with several rescues in the area and find forever homes for strays and it's honestly the cutest thing. They also pair up with other small and local businesses like food trucks to support the community. Love supporting them!
We had my daughters birthday party at a cat cafe and the cats got in everything. They jumped on the table and tried to eat the cake while we sang happy birthday. They were sitting on presents and hiding in the bags. They were everywhere, so your cafe seems pretty accurate lol.
Haha yeah, I reckon that's why not all countries have cat cafés. I am 100% sure it would never get approved where I live (Scandinavia), simply due to food safety standards. I love cats and would love to try such a café, but a part of me also squirms a bit at animals jumping on tables where people eat, taking bites out of food etc.. Yeah that would for sure not be approved here lmao. And yet I'd like to try it at least once!
With the new expansion pack revolving around teenagers, this would be a perfect afterschool hangout spot. If boba shop becomes a new lot type, this would be a great lot to be a boba place.
Love this. I used to love going to my local cat cafe, but it was closed down due to covid. All the cats were adoptable and the coffee was really good too. With a reservation to hang out with the cats you'd also get free coffee or tea.

I’m allergic to cats and have owned them before. There is an adjustment for the first few weeks, but you get used to it and I guess, build up a tolerance of some kind? Well at least that’s what has happened with me.

After all, food allergies can range from extremely stressful inconvenience to will-literally-kill-this-person if they're exposed for too long. I don't know how deadly animal or pollen allergies can get, maybe not at all, but it does vary I'm sure.
you could always consider getting allergy shots! its a huge pain at first because you have to get them so often, but they can really help. and depending on how severe your allergies are, you might be fine if you took an allergy medicine every day. i’m pretty allergic to cats, even though i have 3 of them, but when i take daily allergy medicine i don’t have any reaction
I find it stupid that they completely and utterly forgot the allergic traits, as in *Allergic to Cats* , *Allergic to Dogs* and *Allergic to fur* , the latter meaning you're allergic to both cats and dogs and fur in general
My favourite part is the cat wall decals so they look like they’re lounging on the cat tree! 🥺 I think this is a beautiful build and one I cannot wait to add into my game!

Our local cat café is the first in the area and is so popular that you have to reserve time in the cat area. I'm not sure if it is typical of all cat cafés, but it is one of my favorite places to go. One side is the typical pick up your drinks and snacks situation and the other side has a double entrance (to help prevent escapes) into a land of cat toys, perches, beds, bird sounds, and a few places for the humans to sit too. All of the cats are from local rescues and up for adoption. Their Facebook page even announces when cats are adopted and new ones arrive.

Something similar to the Cosmo story was actually a real game mechanic back in the original The Sims - Makin' Magic included a way to turn a pet into a human Sim, although I don't believe the opposite was possible.

We have a cat cafe here in Quebec City that is basically catering more towards zootherapy. (Café Félin Ma Langue Aux Chats) The owners are ex-military that opened the cafe and donate a part of the sales to help military dealing with PTSD. Best place I've ever been. You get a coffee (or tea), something to nosh on and beautiful cats to pet and play with. Highly recommend to anyone visiting our beautiful city.
I love the shape of the build, the design of the actual building! The decorations are cool too of course. If the lot was bigger, to make it more like a real life cat cafe I'd have a room where only cats and NPCs can enter. Or, that's not possible in The Sims 4 is it? I remember in The Sims 1 I had these CC doors that were NPC only and I think I had pet only too. I'd use the NPC ones in community lots all the time because in The Sims 1 the sims would block the way and if you had ordered food and the NPC couldn't get to the kitchen because a visitor was blocking the door, well you had to starve. Anyway in RL cat cafés, there's a room where the cats can get away from visitors if they want to. This would make boring gameplay though.
I went to to first cat cafe when I was doing study abroad in Europe. It was in cologne, Germany and they had 4 cats. This cat named cherry just came and laid on our table for the whole time it was amazing. I miss those kittes so much plus i was missing my one cats a lot so it helped. At this one the cats werent adoptable and belonged to the owners but you payed like 10 euros and got 2 drinks and food and that money defiantly also went to the care of the cats. It was called Café Schnurrke. If your are in the area I reccomend

they usually have two rooms, the cats are in a rather large space with a bunch of furniture (sofas, chairs, cat trees) & then the other room is the actual cafe area. there's two smaller rooms inside the large cat area for the litter boxes & stuff.
In my city, you're not allowed to serve open food in the same place as animals. So my local "cat cafe" is really an awesome arcade style room filled with cats who are up for adoption - I think they take the more social cats from a local shelter, so the shelter has more room for cats who aren't good with other cats. You pay $15 to hang out for an hour, and they hand you a bottled drink of your choice with your $15 purchase. So it's not a cafe where food is prepared, essentially. It's still fun though. Another work around I've heard of is there's one room where they keep the cats, and one room where there's a real cafe, and large glass windows between the two rooms. So you can watch kitties while you have a latte, and take a break from the cafe to hang out with the cats, but again, no cats in your food. Personally, my cat gets in my food all the time, but I guess the State of Illinois thinks I shouldn't the opening a cafe as a result lol.

The trouble with community lots is that IRL they're usually just a store front or a big box, and all the interesting and attractive features are on the inside. The same is often true if you live in a city city for houses- most homes are either apartment buildings, identical town houses or long rectangles because there's little to no room for building a house and there's probably no real landscaping, so you have no point of reference when you're building in the Sims.
re: stocking the pet vending machine - there's a mod that lets you own cafes and other lot types, so I believe if people play with this mod to own the cafe, maybe this way they can stock the machine? 🤔
Not even kidding I have been using The Sims to design a real life cat café that my partner and I are working on opening with a local kitten rescue organisation. haha

Personally, my cat gets in my food all the time, but I guess the State of Illinois thinks I shouldn't the opening a cafe as a result lol.
I love cat café’s, so cool to see one in the sims. Also if you think about it, the spell kinda worked, because now Cosmo has 9 lives 😂

The trouble with community lots is that IRL they're usually just a store front or a big box, and all the interesting and attractive features are on the inside. The same is often true if you live in a city city for houses- most homes are either apartment buildings, identical town houses or long rectangles because there's little to no room for building a house and there's probably no real landscaping, so you have no point of reference when you're building in the Sims.
re: stocking the pet vending machine - there's a mod that lets you own cafes and other lot types, so I believe if people play with this mod to own the cafe, maybe this way they can stock the machine? 🤔
Not even kidding I have been using The Sims to design a real life cat café that my partner and I are working on opening with a local kitten rescue organisation. haha
