I have a BYD Seal of my own, the Performance version (excellence version in your country). You have the top spec BYD Seal. The long range is called "Premium" and is only 2 wheel drive. The reason your launch felt slow is because ur at around 50% battery, which in turn wouldn't give u the full power. Try it at full battery or up to 70-80% battery and you will feel the true potential of the car. I've tried launching both at 80% - 100% and around 40-50% and it is a night and day difference. Similar feeling to driving a 350 hp car compared to a 500 hp car. Hope you find this useful.
In Oz, I bought the Dynamic Seal, solar panels &, 30 TSLA. At this stage I don't have the budget to get either the Premium Seal or a Tesla. The Seal looks better to me. Medium term the Tesla with FSD would be hands down the way to go. In the meantime, 13:20 very much like a petrol car.
It's the Performance model denoted by the 3.8S on the boot lid. 523hp or 390kw. It's the most powerful Seal with two models below it in the range. Your Excellence = Performance in other markets.
Damn the seal is a absolute beauty compared to the model 3... The only reason I will never buy a model 3 or Y is because they look absolute garbage to me... Sorry But I couldn't use a daily driver I don't like from inside and outside
The Seal interior is wonderful, there are elements of cheap that ruin it when you spend some time sitting in one. The interior of the Tesla was a big draw for me because it’s unique. The Y doesn’t appeal to me based on looks and the old 3 wasn’t a looker. The current highland models are one of the best looking 4 EV saloons. But that’s whys it’s great that we can compare and choose different cars. Thanks for watching 👍
Model 3 is not a good looking saloon. Far too common now- all I see is white Model 3’s. Plus you’re comparing a £60k performance model with a £48k seal. Build quality/looks and a decent fast saloon- I’d pick a Seal but it’s personal preference

What does the fact that not having stalks or gear selector has anything to do with being all in for electric cars? Hi, the BYD is a little noisier, more wind noise than all model 3’s. Tyre noise is similar but the model 3 performance is worse on some surfaces due to the large staggered tyres. But, Compared to a long range or standard range, the BYD is also slightly noisier. I was surprised, I think it’s a good car, the Tesla is just better.
@@Ev_Adventures2024 I drive the 2021 Model 3 and now looking for a successor, BYD Seal or Xpeng P7 or G6. Model 3 from 2001 find the chassis and noise catastrophic. I like the BYD Seal as the equipment levels and performance are so impressive for the price and like Skoda drivers of old BYD owners eulagise about them like they are god's gifts to motoring. The problem I have is that for all the marketing, pricing etc the car has some serious issues that many of us can't and should not overlook: 1) The boot size is a joke for a family car, it is no bigger than an average hatchback and is so narrow for many requirements (golfers especially) is is a non-starter. 2) If the boot size is not annoying enough it is a saloon opening so you can get much in the gap anyway. 3) Everything is on the screen and it is borderline dangerous to try and change even basic settings. Now I know most manufacturers do this but they don't bury things several layers into the OS to find it. Oh and the turning screen is really not that useful. 4) For a car that is so long and heavy I am struggling to understand why the leg room in the back is actually quite poor compared to competitors especially with no room under the seats for your feet. That and why the range is not that inspiring as the efficiency does not stack up well. 5) The smell in the cabin is actually quite nauseating, not a nice new car, leather smell but like you are trapped in a room you have just painted, the VOC's are actually quite frightening. For me it is such a shame as I was a motivated buyer who felt the Excellence model with it's power, the equipment as standard and the price was unbeatable for fun and value unlike any other EV. Sadly though as a family car and from a safety and space perspective it was a complete non-starter and failed on too many requirements so my hunt continues !
I prefer the Tesla. For me this isn't even a match for the basic Tesla. I don't like the looks, the awful piano (plastic) stuff and the interior. BTW: It's amazing that you're allowed to drive as fast as you do on those very narrow roads (with no proper shoulders, lots of curves and very limited view).
