Enjoying watching this video. I found your earlier one on the FLM as I was shopping for one. Between your video and the comparisons on that website, I felt confident buying this. It is truly a jack of all trades tripod. Big enough, but small enough to backpack with and it fits in carry on. The stability of this tripod with the Sirui ballhead is fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm super happy with my tripod, and I agree - pretty much a jack of all trades tripod. Being able to fly with it is super nice. Thanks for watching!
Great video, Jeff! I have been rolling around the idea of an FLM tripod. I have an RRS TFC-14 but the price on a taller one is, well considerable. This seems like a great option.
Thank you! Glad you watched this one too! I think you'll be good with the L version. If I didn't fly here and there, I'd be tempted by the L version, I don't think it will be too unwieldy to hike with on most trails. Hope you enjoy the tripod!
I've been happy with Sirui K-30 and it seems a good match with the legs. I've been using the combination for a little over a year now. *if* you do a lot of traveling and are really trying to be weight efficient with your gear, there might be a better option that was lighter (re: the ballhead) - but probably more expensive as well. It has served me well. Hope that helps!
Funny! I don't have the spikes either! It's why I always end up showing it with just the rubber feet. I really don't mind the rubber feet. Knowing my luck I'd try to fly with the spikes on and have them confiscated by TSA!

Excellent review. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!

Thanks Jared! The Really Right Stuff and Gitzo tripod are all great, but I do think FLM does really good at the price to quality ratio!
@@JeffreyTadlockPhotography yeah i obviously haven’t used one yet but it looks very similar to rrs so hopefully that’s indicative of the quality.
Another great video. Just ordered on today. Got the CP-30 Long. Hopefully not to large to hike with. I needed the length.
Thank you! Glad you watched this one too!

Did you like it? Was it small enough to hike with? And how is stability when using the full lenght?
Wow this looks great!!! Would you choose this over an ulanzi tree root?
I would choose the FLM - they are just built so well. My CP30-S4 has seen regular use for 2+ years now and performs just like new. Great tripod.
Thank you for the review, is the Sirui K-30 a good match for these legs? Would you recommend that head?

The only negative is that I misplaced my spikes. That's more a negative on me...
