    I hope you do a video on how to make your yogurt! It looked absolutely delicious! Love sitting down with a cup of coffee in the morning and “visiting” with you before I start my own day of work. Prayers for a speedy recovery for your father!

    First, praying for your Dad for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Second, that dinner looked delicious! Thanks for sharing your tips for the Turkey, gravy, jelly roll and sour cream!!! I too think about my mom and Dad when I fix Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I can hear them talking to me in my heart and mind. Enjoy your parents and spend as much time with them as you can. God Bless you and your family. ❤

    You and I are almost the same age and I also wish things was like they was back then. I feel like it's where I belong. Thank you for the videos.

      Love that we are similar in age! It’s “vulnerable” to reveal your age, as a woman. But I’m glad I did. It’s a great connection for all of us who grew up in a similar era. ❤️

    What a wonderful meal. It reminds me of the Thanksgiving dinners i made for my parents. I will cherish those memories. You never regret time well spent with them. ❤

    I was raised by my grandmother (grandparents) and I too like with your mom learned so much from her. You and I are close in age and I have the same nostalgia for the past. I accredit my grandmother for that. Though life never gave me the opportunity to be a mother I still love cooking for my family and some of the old traditions. I am so excited for being able to plant a full garden this year and not just a small container garden. Just need the weather to improve here in NS so I can get the garden ready.

      I love that ❤️ So special to have that relationship with your grandparents. I think that a lot of us crave to go back. Maybe that’s just the way it is at our age, or maybe it’s the times we are living in. Either way, we might not have power over what happens in the world, but we do have power over our own homes. We get to create that! So glad you get to have a big garden this year. You’re gonna love it! 😊

    You make cooking from scratch look so easy. You make many things I have wanted to try, but have been afraid to, so I am happy for your videos! Will be praying for your father!

      Thank you Scott! 🌷 I have grown many varieties of eggplant, but not the Chinese ones yet! My biggest success last year was with a variety called black beauty. I’m pretty sure it’s just the standard grocery store variety, but they produced a bumper crop!

      Oh wow, we don’t have the best school system over here. We definitely didn’t learn anything like this!!! We learn very little in home economics over here in Canada (unfortunately).

    Does adding the potato water to the gravy help thicken it?

    • @thefarmerswifecanada
      @thefarmerswifecanada  7 месяцев назад +3

      It helps adds flavour and body to the gravy. Also, vitamins can be lost into the cooking water, so by using it in the gravy, you aren’t loosing anything. My mom would also add water from her other vegetables!
