I'm going to Maui in a few weeks, havent really planned anything out except just land and get my car rental and drive around and sleep in the back seat. i dont want to pay for a hotel. hopefully i can find spots to pull over for the night and park my car to sleep for free. i know it's frowned upon in hawaii in general, and i can get fined and worst get murdered, but i hope it works out. any advice on free places to park and sleep for the night?

When you get to Maui, just have a drive around and you will see what will work for you. Have a great time! 😊

@@kylelohse8150 I spent 4 nights car camping in the back of a Nissan sentra. Waiehu beach park for a couple nights. Safeway near Kihei since it’s open 24 hours. I saw some cars parked near the main highway in Olowalu beach too, I didn’t stay there though. How’s your car camping trip so

@@LostUndertheSky I only survived one night in the rental car. I had a tesla and even that wasn’t comfortable enough. I ended up staying at a cheap hostel for anyone interested in finding a cheap place to stay. There are 3 on the island
where did you park your overnight at the end of the video?? it’s so hard to find a cam spot right noww
Yeah the campgrounds were all sold out when we got there as well. Apparently need to book way in advance. This was off the highway south of Lahaina and north of Olowalu. I don't recommend it though. The cars are non-stop all night long and the sound of the waves can be quite loud especially for me a light sleeper. Check out my part 2 of this trip just posted yesterday lol.

Since camping in your vehicle is illegal in Maui, where did you find a spot to sleep for two nights?
There’s tons of campgrounds you can find using google
You should go to Molokai! It’s interesting. I don’t think they are doing mule rides rn but it’s the old Hawaii.
It's definitely on my list! 😊 Hopefully one day soon.
@@LaineyhulaAdventures I wouldn’t, other than the old leper colony there’s not much to see. They are not friendly like the rest of Hawaii, They hate tourists even though a large percentage of the population is on food stamps and desperately needs tourism. They don’t want you there and unlike Maui there’s very little adventure to be had not worth more than a day trip.
I am going to Maui tomorrow and car camping with my wife and kids for two weeks. Any advice on the cheapest places to sleep in my car?
@@kaseyburlingham2861 Try Camp Olowalu. They have car camping there plus tentalows and tent camping.

@@LaineyhulaAdventures we stayed right there at Ukumehame Beach Park for two weeks for free. No on bothered us. We rented a minivan bought a hammock and an air bed and got a pass to planet fitness to shower. We shopped at Costco so the entire trip was relatively inexpensive!
